  1. Been there done that lol Might be worth picking up a spigot bearing for the flywheel and a laser clutch alignment tool from Halfords Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  2. Sounds like you probably pushed the crank seal in to far Sam .... As i did the same thing when I fitted mine they're supposed to flush with the start of the chamfer around the recess the crank seal sits in ,although it doesn't say that in the engine manual [emoji57] Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  3. Nice shiny bits tidge[emoji4] Are you going to keep the 2.5 twin scroll set up ? Or single scroll with a 2ltr sump ? Either way it will be a rapid classic bud, nice choice [emoji106] Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  4. I've already paid for and got my ticket to get in ,will you send me my stand pass and details or are you meeting somewhere Sunday morning to hand em out ? Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  5. Took it to a charity car show we had a nice variety of cars on the stand my v1sti ,v3 sti v limited ra, v5 sti, usdm and uk bugs ,jdm/UK sti blobs ,hawk spec C and spec D ,veilside supra and a 500+ftlb fair lady . All sorts of motors there from us muscle to old school fords and porkas to lotus didn't take many pics but this spec C was a minter Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  6. Nice of you to say so stants but I've made, painted and converted loads of bits under the bonnet myself to try and keep costs down/myself busy (pics do tell lies ) it would look neater if I'd have bought "off the shelf" and had the painted bits powder coated but I haven't got the spare £'s or equipment some people have kicking around to achieve a perfect finish . I've learnt a lot and enjoyed myself along the way , so much so I'm considering building a decent size work shop and getting some spraying equipment to tackle the bodywork and tidy a few things up Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  7. Dunno if it's quite as mint as I'd like it to be but after all it's 21 yrs old and hasn't had any paintwork (yet) Tbh I was quite surprised at the amount of people taking pics and asking questions about it today at the car show[emoji41] I'll probably never be happy enough for it to be finished but It was the oldest and loudest scoob there
  8. Had a great day out today loads of nice motors of all different marques didn't take to many pics but here's a couple of the scooby city stand ,1 of my old girl and a couple of the white spec c with only 8k miles on from new [emoji41] Mint spec c Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  9. Cheers gambit Braking's a bit "soft" when the red stuff pads are cold although they do still out perform the 4 pots . But When they're warm I lose everything off the passenger seat, especially as I haven't got abs
  10. I bought the firestones on here just cos the ratings seemed good and the tread pattern looked good lol http://www.mytyres.co.uk/cgi-bin/rshop.pl?dsco=110&cart_id=18510429.110.28387&sowigan=So&Breite=215&Quer=45&Felge=17&Speed=W&kategorie=6&Marke=&ranzahl=4&tyre_for=&x_tyre_for=&suchen=Show%20tyres&sort_by=preis&rsmFahrzeugart=ALL&search_tool=standard&weiter=60 They've got toyos on there if you want something soft n sticky , que gambit
  11. Hi and welcome If they're getting hot quick without heavy use and squealing I'd guess that somethings seized. Most of the braking is done by the front so the rears should be cooler than those as a rough guide What year ,make and model is it ? As if it has a floating 1 pot rear caliper they're quite prone to seizing if not maintained Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  12. Don't feel bad bud the cheap free fixes are the best ones Imo Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  13. Is the car a sti if not did you fit a matching rear diff ? Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  14. Do you know when it last had a rear different oil change and have you checked the rear different oil levels lately ? I think it's quite unusual for both rear bearings to go at once so you'd normally get a "humming" noise when cornering (when the worn side is under load) try Jacking the back up and check for any top to bottom and side to side play in the rear wheels and give your rear tyres a visual check while it's in the air Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  15. Good shout with faulty vac and a solinoid clean ,might be worth checking the spark plug condition and gaps too bud . Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  16. I skimmed a room out for a farmer lovely old boy ,strong as a ox with hands like shovels . He had worked on his family farm since he was a teenager . Gave him a price and he agreed halfway through the day he says "I got a farrrm shop do you want sum meet boi" Hmmn steak for tea me thinks "lovely thanks" He turned up with 2 fooking great sacks of farm made sausages, burgers ,steaks and beef joints, there was so much meat I couldn't carry both at once back to the van at once "Dere u go boi I've put a extra £ 50's worth in dere to make it up ta quarter cow ,cos you done good " Had some awesome bbq's that summer but told him I preferred proppa money for the next room I did. as it confused my accountant when it come to tax return time
  17. I don't often get involved in racial or political debates online to be honest as it's easy to offend unintentionally in text without knowing. It was probably only the recent family political debates ashes reigniting that made me post ,I haven't even clicked the link and read the article . Well that's my excuse for straying off topic, not that you need a excuse on this forum full of tangents. I'm now away from the rat race and living near the sunny Suffolk coast ,unfortunately just south of Norwich is about as far north I'll work . Because up north it gets colder plus I've been told they use beer and crops as currency [emoji39] Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  18. Just had a few political debates with friends and family lately over immigration and the class divide that seems to cause a difference of opinion. I agree with most (if not all) of what you said about discrimination and the use of media as a propaganda tool [emoji106] growing up with Muslims ,Hindus, Jamaicans, Africans ,Chinese ect has taught me there's good and bad in all races, that's where I discriminate as to who keep my company with. We're a open and friendly forum fella it's not always about cars and I like to hear other people's opinions ,some might change my view's and some I chose to ignore . Anyways I'll get down off my of topic political soap box and get on with my plastering before some eastern European Hindu undercuts me on the job I've got to price up later [emoji4] Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  19. Each to their own Imo Religion is a touchy subject at the best of times after all most wars or conflict has been caused by the differences in it . I grew up in a rough part of the East end and was a white minority at school so had numerous friends of all colours and creeds . I voted ukip not because I'm a racist or because of their quality policies but because I wanted the main parties to hear that I wanted the UK to take control and stop being controlled. Only thing I've not liked about this discussion is "pitch fork Britain" as the working class wages /opportunities are being suppressed by cheap foreign labour (over immigration) middle class people can't see it and think it's good getting their manual labour jobs done cheaper rather than paying tradesmen a decent wage And my nan was called Doris and used to love a blast in my Renault 5 gt turbo with the tunes blaring [emoji4] Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  20. Most people use import car parts for oe subaru stuff ,have a look at their kits that include rollers, tensioner ,belt and water pump . I think gates or dayco are what most use ,I personally run a gates kevlar belt on mine but unless you're aiming for 400hp + it's probably a bit overkill . If you've done a few cambelts on other twin cam engines you'll probably find the scoob relatively easy once you remove the rad [emoji6] Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  21. It does shift if you drop it a gear and hit that sweet spot [emoji6] Should really get it on the rollers again as I haven't got a graph for the power @1.58 bar due to my old apexi intake strangling it and not letting it hold boost last on the last dyno session Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  22. Closest graph I've got for a comparison is my v1 sti when it had the original engine ,440's ,tdo5 16g ,full decat and fmic (which should make it spool a bit slower ) This was at 1.2 bar Afaik Tdo5 16g's and vf35's are both journal based cores (not roller bearing cores) and are the spec's are fairly similar . I've got a boost graph of mine from earlier this year and it now makes 1.58 bar under 4k rpm on the rollers (a bit earlier on the road) but it's had a few tweaks so spools a bit earlier than a standard set up . I know that the sti higher lift cams make a bit better power but I don't think they have that much effect on spool times and would have thought your's should have spooled at least 500 rpm quicker .
