  1. Hi mate welcome to the forums. It's apart of the alarm system if you have the codes you can set it to do stuff like lock your doors after say 30 seconds or to turn the feature off, and to add new key. But to do that you will need the original master code to put in 1st to add anything else. And feel free to add some pictures up when you get chance :)
  2. A code P0420 may mean that one or more of the following has happened: Leaded fuel was used where unleaded was called for A damaged or failed oxygen sensor (HO2S) Downstream oxygen sensor (HO2S) wiring damaged or connected improperly The engine coolant temperature sensor is not working properly Damaged or leaking exhaust manifold / catalytic converter / muffler / exhaust pipe Retarded spark timing The oxygen sensors in front and behind the converter are reporting too similar of readings Leaking fuel injector or high fuel pressure Cylinder misfire Oil contamination Possible SolutionsSome suggested steps for troubleshooting a P0420 error code include: Check for exhaust leaks at the manifold, pipes, catalytic converter. Repair as required. Use a scope to diagnose the oxygen sensor operation (Tip: The oxygen sensor in front of the catalytic converter normally has a fluctuating waveform. The waveform of the sensor behind the converter should be more steady). Inspect the downstream heated oxygen sensor (HO2S), replace if necessary Replace the catalytic converter Overall probably the biggest mistake vehicles owners make when they have a P0420 code is to simply replace an oxygen sensor (H02S). It is important to do proper diagnosis so you're not wasting money replacing parts unnecessarily. We strongly recommend that if you need to replace the catalytic converter that you replace it with an OEM unit. Second choice would be a high-quality replacement part. There are many stories in our forums where folks replaced the cat with a cheaper aftermarket one only to have the code return shortly thereafter. One thing to note is that many vehicle manufacturers offer a longer warranty on emissions-related parts. So if you have a newer car but it's out of it's bumper-to-bumper warranty, there still may be warranty on this type of problem. Many manufacturers give a five year, unlimited mileage warranty on these items. It's worth checking into.

  17. Hmmm I think I would go matt black myself or a metallic maybe two tone style black. Oh hell it's not even my car :D got me at it now ;) And I think the Inovit is a good choice last full set I bought was from here http://www.wheelbasealloys.com/?gclid=CNHHnNDY_bcCFabLtAod5zAA7Q give you something else to look at :D And yep I like pictures. The same way I like my books :)
  18. Well I'm glad was not a £100,000,000 question :) At least you figured it out and Jay and I have now learned something new :D
  19. All sounds positive mods to me so far. Tough call 17" or 18" My Mrs would tell ya 1" extra inch would make all the difference lol I would be tempted to have all black alloys or some sort of black and silver alloys. I like the black silver look as you might see from the other posts I have commented on :D But looking forward to see the results with the springs too :)
  20. I would chuck some carb cleaner through the throttle body 1st see if that helps might have got clogged up I would put money on it being the airflow just what part. I would also look at the (MAFS) mass airflow sensor if its gone bad or needs a clean gives the same symptoms you have said. there the cheap places to start. Hope it helps sort the problem :)
  21. How weird is that mine has started going all funny today sounds like a ball bearing is rattling around in it I was in two minds if to cut the belt off to stop it :) I would try ebay 1st mate I've not looked myself yet. I was reading it might need a re gassing but same guy who does my MOT is an aircon place too so will be going there tomorrow if I get time to let him have a listen before I spend any cash on one :)
  22. I would get a nice set of NGK or Denso Iridium sparkplugs as for HT leads I'm not to sure but would go for some performance ones. As I think it would be a great Ice breaker when trying to chat up the local bird in the chip shop on a Friday night ;)
  23. Don't go for full sports breaks either you will never keep enough heat in them to work :D
