Hi Chris welcome to S.O.C I'm sorry I might be reading the post wrong, and it's been one of those days too :( But is the car damaged or you are going to damage it I'm not to sure what you are wanting to know are you wanting to buy the car for yourself ? :D Or looking to see if any collectors on here would be interested :)
  2. Good stuff just need some pictures posting up now :D
  3. Does sound better that :)
  4. I would have it mapped anyway I had a full engine rebuild and some extras added about 58k miles ago now, it was mapped to 360bhp but when fuel prices got silly I went and got it remapped again to 300BHP Not that I've seen a great deal of difference mind :D
  5. Yep Will say thanks too some great information. Only down side is it's now got me looking at fuel pumps and other parts for the car :D
  6. Sounds a bit like me most of the time I can get the job done after launching my tools across the garden and screaming profanity words at the car. But the engine rebuild I Don't have the tools or the guts to even try :D
  7. Getting sea sick just driving to town and back :D Defo looks better for having them replaced for road use anyway.
  8. World wide panic followed by floods and starvation by many. The Governments all over the world would need to rise taxes making the worlds problems even worse. Which would then in return start wars over the globe as everyone starts to battle for survival. Later resulting in a Zombie apocalypse
  9. Hi mate Welcome to the forums Funny enough we was all talking about old car's not to long ago and Capri was one of them :D Well if you can chance feel free to share pictures of both car's I love a bit of nostalgia ;)
  10. I like the sound of it but heard a few people moaning about the carbon effect on the spoilers. That could be because it was a poor job or cheap vinyl I guess. I would also tint the windows, but I like tinted windows :D My old car that was silver I thought looked great with it too. But anyway I think it would look smart with it being done. But if I was my car I think I would have it colour coded :)
  11. That would be great mate thank you. I do like them posts. It's like watching a child being born ;) As for finding the history on an import I really couldn't tell you, I've only ever had UK cars :( But hopefully there might be away to get the info without to much hassle
  12. I bet you can they do look like they would sway over when going around a corner with the OEM springs on :)
  13. Now I know why Bip knows so much about the engines mind you you're not bad either :D But Scooby Pete's still my hero. :D
  14. That's what I like to hear :D
  15. Looks good can tell from the front arch how low it is :D
  16. I like it to be fair. Think a Subaru badge would have been better and I nearly never clicked the link but I couldn't help myself :D I'm more interested what you will think in about 3 months because that's when the bloke I was on about before said he had enough of it by then and moved over to a Scooby and had 2 since, :D But he is and oldish chap. And I will point out I did have the pleasure of an evo for a few weeks but was only an evo 4 So did you go for it in the end with the lack of Cossies around then ? Or was it the rebel in you that took you to the Darkside ;)
  17. Hi mate welcome to the forums most common major fault would be bigend's going other then that really gearbox are not great. then just the normal stuff you look for rust oil, Clutch bite point. Can always check the history too via the text and online places. If you get a good car that has history or from an enthusiast would be best bet. As you know most of the time would have had oil changed when its been needed. Which remind me :D I need to do mine soon ;)
  18. Handy tip thanks for sharing even if it's not going to help dogma1 now, but handy all the same :)
  19. Yes but the Queen is upside down :)
  20. Hey what a result I'm a little jealous truth be told :) mind you I would rather be able to play with the car on a rally track :) And it does sound like you have the help and backing of people to help with the rebuild. If you want feel free to do a photo documentary/blog on here as you go, always interesting to see and we can see how it's going :)
  21. I'm not going to say your mate is wrong as I could be by saying it but with my wheels I wouldn't want to take the risk myself
  22. Any chance of before and after picture's... I like pictures ;)..... Of the car jeez I read that back could have sounded terrible. Like a Corsa with no back box :D
  23. Haha If I was wanting to save the planet I would have a Prius. Not that I believe in this green house effect that much just a way for an invisible tax IMO :) And if you want to go with fashion remember you must wear jogging bottoms with shoes ideally Rockports and shirt with the top 3 maybe 4 buttons undone, along with gold chains. and going back to the head wear a baseball cap and just stretch a condom around the middle of the face over the nose :D So it looks a little bit like this :D
  24. What Adam was saying is just because it has the Turbo on it doesn't mean it is a WRX engine. best way to put it is it could be a Frankenstein engine made up of parts but still using a 2.0l subaru engine. So the only real way would be to take the car apart to find out. As for doing the rebuild of the engine that's great if you can and cheaper too, I'm not that good I would need to either pay for it to be done or pay to have a refurbished one put in. Oh and welcome to S.O.C :D
  25. Modify a black bin liner. That way once you have done the job and got the money, you can then pop to the shop and you already have a bag to carry the pop noodles home in. Always thinking of the environment me you see :D
