  1. They seem to just beep when they feel like it. There's a light system mounted in the boot too, green to red, I assume to countdown the distance to objects, but that too seems to have a life of its own
  2. Think I've got after market rear sensors on mine and don't trust them to be honest...beep when chuff all is behind me [emoji32]
  3. It seems quite good...thick end of 10m I'd say, and that's without having to go under the drivers side carpet. Going to have to buy a rear bumper protector though at circa £95 [emoji54]
  4. Got the joys of musical theatre to endure this afternoon for the sake of family happiness..... ....my compensation, a quick turn and burn to Newcastle and back in the Outback :D
  5. you should reverse him into a wall mate; see how he likes that! ;)
  6. I'm the same as you mate - just heard these stories about the diesel engines having issues, and that when issues do crop up, they tend to be very very costly to fix. No real detail I'm afraid, but more than one used car dealer who specialised in main dealer Subaru part-ex's told me they hadn't quite got the boxer diesel engine right yet and he tended to turn down opportunities to take them from their arranged dealer. That was enough for me not to consider them to be honest. This information was offered up to me on more than one occasion. I've had diesels of other marques before in years gone by, and had DPF issues too, so that has kind of put me off them anyway. I wasn't even someone who just pottered around town, but still the DPF would need a forced regeneration every few weeks. Driving needlessly at high revs for up to 30 mins kind of defeated the gains of increased mpg somewhat. All this has led me to be a happy petrolhead :) Hope that helps in some way......good luck with your search
  7. I think I'd be insisting on being present while it was done mate, assuming someone has time for that. Wucking fanker [emoji35]
  8. Gotta be a bargain for somebody....FSH and new exhaust http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201407015460244?atmobcid=soc3 Almost worth buying as a donor car for the future.....leather, alloys, new exhaust, mechanicals etc etc etc lol
  9. Great, thanks Tom. I'm guessing I'll need an appointment so might bring the subject up when they call to say my touch up paint is ready for collection. I can then spend an hour looking round the showroom haha
  10. Cheers mate....one of those things that you hope you never need, but I appreciate it all the same [emoji106]
  11. My black Labrador boy owns me :P - Bailey, 1 yr old SWMBO has plans to rescue another Lab, slightly older and of the fairer s*x lol
  12. Ah - thought you might have been closer mate
  13. Meant to tell you earlier - I'm across in Penrith on Sunday for the Lowther Show with the family, incl dog :P
  14. Thanks mate - I'll ask them when I go to collect my touch up paint in a couple of days time.
  15. I've got the booklet, but no code sticker :( I'll have to have a look in the car later to see if either of the owners have stuck it inside the car anywhere
  16. Ordered a pot of touch up paint today from my local dealer......one or two stone chips on my bonnet I want sorted before the weather turns ;)
  17. It was great.....I had this taxi behind me (vw passat I think) and I was tootling along at 30 approaching where the limit changes to 50. Just before it changes there's a traffic island, so unless you are totally reckless, you have to wait until the limit change to pass. He was showing all the obvious signs of intent to pull out, so I thought here we go, this will be a canny test. Flicked it across, hit the 50 sign, then gave the loud pedal a press. He had dropped back a few metres to give himself a slight run and must have just put his foot down before me. My power kicked in, he was left floundering and had to pull back in, then stayed about 50 yards behind me for the next few miles......THE PERFECT RESULT :D This is THE satisfying feeling I've been longing for since I joined the ranks back in January......feeling so fulfilled right now
  18. Yes indeed, like you said yesterday, noticeably sooner :)
  19. Oh oh oh, that sport mode is a bit naughty now, isn't it...... :D
  20. Normal service to be resumed then mate ;)
  21. Here you go Tom mate - these are the on'e I've bought: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/201123564298?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 I took the liberty of looking in their ebay shop for you and found these which may be what you're after?: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2005-2009-Subaru-Legacy-Sedan-Splash-Guard-Mud-Flap-Set-Black-OEM-NEW-/321458272872?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Model%3ALegacy&hash=item4ad867fa68 That's assuming you are an 05-09 sedan (in their words lol). I'm not sure how competitive or otherwise the prices will be for you, once postage has been added mate. You'll have to speak to a stealer for a comparison.
  22. Meeting in Newcastle later this morning....time to give the sport setting a workout [emoji6]
  23. How long was it in for mate....thinking mine will have to wait until it's annual service in Dec as can't afford the time off work or inconvenience at the minute
