NBO 12 Has Now Gone Live
It's a fantastic day, it's not a massive busy show, but a chilled out day. Have a walk around and talk to other clubs, you can get up close to the show area. Loads of BBQ's and tea and coffee at each club stand. There's also a raffle with great prizes. Donations on entry and all money goes to charity

looking into subaru... running costs?
the 2.5's do have a higher than average fail rate, but it's only something like 1 in 10 fail if your engine get's to 30k and it's not melted, do you stand and shout 'look everybody, my engine hasn't melted!!!' there is a lot of noise made about failed engines - one possible cure is a remap - how many paid for a remap to try to stop it, or did they just keep ragging it and then moan when it happened? how many were run on 95 ron fuel? FSH? high rev's will kill them in a different way (high speed run, no air into top mount, high temp with heat soak, running rich = dead engine), but probably still slagged off for being a 2.5 the forged ones do fetch more money, but not what it has cost. even a forged wrx will be good for 380bhp

NBO 12 Has Now Gone Live
Just a quick courtesy call to let you all know that NBO 12 is now GO! http://bbs.scoobynet.com/northern-england-21/1000818-northern-big-one-12-the-official-list-2014-a.html#post11392490

Spoiler fitting
I got the bars with the spoiler, I was cheeky and he threw them in for free. I fitted both And it was too strong, so I've got one wrx one and one sti one fitted, it works fine. The sti bar is thicker and the ends are a more aggressive angle.
-
Boot openning mechanism
If you look where the arm is that holds the boot lid, you will see a hinged bracket about 100mm long that holds the end of the bar. Move that first, then remove the bar, it will be easier to prop the boot open before you start. You may need to remove them both at first because they can get tangled together I bet you will surprise a few people!
-
Spoiler fitting
There are about 6 holes that line up. But there aren't any fixings across the middle. If you look in the boot, under the parcel shelf, you will see 2 thin bars that run side to side. If you don't change them the boot won't hold itself up and will keep falling down.

New guy who loves his Terzo
nice looking car B) I've been in 2 classics with over 500bhp and they were mental :D
-
Centre decat pipe
nice one, glad you sorted it
-
Boot openning mechanism
is it fitted with the torsion style bars (not struts)? try removing one of them, or get some from a wrx

Squires 1st April?
I get in at half 6, then shower, tea, see my kids and then an hours drive, so it'll be 9 when I get there. I'm up at 5am, so I need to think about setting off home soon after
-
Spoiler fitting
I've fitted one on my WRX, it's held on with about 6 bolt's (like the std spoiler) but the sti spoiler is usually held on by about 20 bolts and clips :o why not look for an sti boot with spoiler fitted? I bought mine from scoobynet for £200, I wanted a black one and it was cheaper cos black isn't very common, blue ones are usually about £300 also, don't forget to get the stronger boot springs too
- More engine bits dipped

Squires 1st April?
I keep saying I'm going to go cos it's always a good night, but I'm working in Nottingham and don't get in until half 6 :(

Looking for advice!
don't worry too much about mileage, my wrx is 330bhp and has over 100k on the clock, fsh with no expense spared. try to buy from an enthusiast or someone that has owned the car for at least a year or two. if they have only owned it for 6 months, they might have bought it and not realised the running costs and not be able to afford to run it/maintain it. not remapped with mods, run on 95 ron fuel, missed services, or just bought to thrash
-
Looking for advice!
the wide track has a 10mm wider track, it has the rear wheel arch extensions and DCCD (non wide track doesn't have adjustable centre diff) the spoiler should just be bolted through, you can pick up a genuine spoiler from a few different places, ebay, forums, etc. the std spoiler is attached with about 20 screws and clips
-
What have you done to your Subaru today ?
I picked up mine from the MOT, picked up some bags of sand and cement and then an evo 330 sst wanted a play, oh, go on then. he was in front and booted it, so I followed and managed to keep up. I just wish I could have either A- stopped and took the 125KG of stuff out of the boot and then spanked him OR B - if he'd stopped for a chat, see his face when I said it was 'only' a wrx with 125KG of sand in the boot!!!!
