  1. I had iridium plugs in mine that have done 10k miles, sad times! Think I won't bother with such expensive ones again. What you going for?
  2. Oh I know the feeling :(. Mine is doing that, only on full load though. I'm craving the power but it wont let me have it!
  3. Got my car back on Friday, having to be gentle with the turbo for 100 miles. We tried on full throttle boost to test and it still bogs down, misfire :(. Need to find out what from now, I'm guessing plugs have been damaged when it had the bad coil packs. Also blew an exhaust gasket. Feels like it's never ending!
  4. Been to London to build an exhibition stand, all done! Back there on Sunday to take it down. Still don't have my car back :( UPDATE: Been sent these pics... The De-Cat up pipe has arrived, this will be heat wrapped before being fitted. Also the turbo is back from the specialist, been rebuilt and it's ready to go back on :). Will give details of what has been done later.
  5. Ice??? Better not be any ice yet, I don't have my Subaru until later in the week Update on the Subaru: 1. Turbo specialist guy said the turbo is in very good condition for a 100k mile turbo ;). Quite a bit of place in the spindle so he's going to replace the bearings and make it good as new. 2. Up Pipe has 2 x 6" cracks near the turbo flange that could very well be causing my problems, got a De-Cat stainless pipe on the way :). This will get heat wrapped! 3. It's had part of the heat shield removed from the manifold as it was very rusted and falling apart, replaced with heat wrap. 4. Service with some nice oil has been carried out. 5. Prodrive Y-Pipe is being fitted. 6. 2 new coil packs have also been fitted. 7. Hopefully having some new speakers put in as well while it's in the garage :). This Subaru is going to be a different car when I get it back I think!
  6. Right my turbo is off and sent for repair, has play in spindle so the impellar is rattling. This however isn't the problem it seems, after removal of turbo a cracked up pipe has been found. Now a new one will cost stupid money but a de cat however, wont.... HELP! (Thanks ;))
  7. Still without my car, sad times :(. Everyone... don't take your Subaru for granted, show it all the love in the world :P
  8. Got to work on that, need to keep up the good audi name right? ;)
  9. I'm more worried about brain damage as I keep headbutting the dash because the brakes are really sharp!
  10. Afraid so :( Right been looking at worst case scenario of turbo knackered... looking at these: Turbo Injectors Fuel Pump Remap What you reckon?
  11. Bad news... well some good, coil packs sorted misfire BUT there is a rattle coming from turbo and it's not spooling :(. That is probably what caused to drive bad. So now Subaru is off the road for a while. Looks like i'm driving an Audi A3 for a bit, sorry guys :(
  12. Well just on my dinner, having a fun day working on the Subaru :). The misfire is a coilpack gone knackered, another is on it's way so ordered 2 of them coming this afternoon costing £120! Decided we will service it as it's due in 200 miles anyway. Got it up on the ramp and found the heatshield rattle, it's the manifold so taking the knackered shield off and just going to heatwrap that bit of exhaust. Noticed my rear shocker is leaking so need them as well, don't think we will be doing them today.
  13. Loving the guy martin reference there gambit! Massive fan of him myself :). His new series was awesome! Sad news for me... driving home, decided to push it round a corner, when I straightened up and booted it the car just coughed. Couldn't work out what it was trying to do so limped it home, when I started her up to show Simon it's only running on 3. Hopefully this is just plugs but it has Iridium plugs which are good for 60k and it's done 8k! Tomorrow is going to be fun, no car so no work :P
  14. That video may help, similar set up perhaps?
  15. Looks smart that, well impressed. Good work!
  16. Well I've been quiet again so will give a quick lowdown on anything interesting that has been going on. 1. Finally starting to get comfortable with getting it unstuck on corners, better throttle control and so on 2. Gave it a really good clean on saturday so looks lovely again 3. My brother in law has done his back in so the work on my Subaru has been put on hold :( As for stuff to do with the car I'm looking at getting: 1. Pitch mount 2. Rear strut brace 3. Gold or gunmetal grey alloys? Still unsure That's to go on top of all the other stuff I listed earlier. Will get there in the end :) EDIT: Also, what oil should I put in? My brother in law uses 5-30w semi synthetic just wondered if it's worth using something else?
  17. Nice lights, I also like your alloys. That's one thing I want to change on mine, either get them refurbished or get some different ones :)
  18. Imagine having that as your daily car, certainly would turn some heads lol.
  19. Took a drive out to the lakes to do the Kankku self drive safari, 55km of off roading in an ex army Landy! Great fun and worth doing :) . Noticed a severe lack of Shell garages though, even BP didn't have Ultimate Unleaded :( . This week my car will be in for it's service and the other stuff on the list...
  20. Thanks Gambit ;) It arrived yesterday Matt, all fitted and the car feels a little bit perkier (either the filter or cold air... or both).
  21. Come to think of it there was a letter for me with some green fluff inside? ;)
  22. I will when it arrives, still waiting :( . When it does, that's something I can do myself ;)
  23. Aye sure is, it will cost me still.. there's only some much I can have done on the side lol
  24. Got a list for my brother in law.... Service Fix speaker (left one has stopped working) Fix rattle (Heat sheild on up-pipe) Investigate power steering judder Investigate rear suspension creak Fit Prodrive Y pipe Fix coolant leak Should keep him busy ;)
  25. Today I've been driving from place to place, walking, shopping and the odd bit of showing off against cars that think they are fast. Quite a fun day really, got myself a 42" LG LED tv to replace my old rubbish Techwood 32"... gaming is awesome now! Oh and I hit this milestone..
