  1. I've got to play the insurance game later this week, Aviva offered £1200 and that's with 10% discount apparently lol. Best I've got is £650 but I would need a box installing, without the box it's £750 with Hastings so may just do that :). Really want my new lights fitting but I don't get chance, might have a go this Saturday if the weather holds out.
  2. You know what we all want though... a video of it running ;). Great work btw!
  3. If you suspect the BOV is at fault you should try another on it. It's amazing what problems little things can cause, I hope you find the fault and keep the car :).
  4. Enjoyed the icy roads at the weekend as much as I could but I dont have anywhere big and open to play :(. Good having people say "my car was just wheel spinning and sliding everywhere" when my car just drove like normal with the odd ABS intervention when braking. Other than that I've had a pretty boring time in the Subaru. It needs a service and headlights need fitting as well so will have it booked in soon :).
  5. I find it strange they swapped the bugeye sti scoop for the blob. It was lowered as well, mine is on the stock springs. Not so sure about the rear spoiler either lol.
  6. Had a trip to the hospital last night, not for me. My partners little sister had fractured her wrist. In the car park I spotted a Subaru so had to park next to it :). Shame their Subaru is so dirty, makes mine look like it's got a showroom shine lol.
  7. I'm after a couple of subframe bolts, can't seem to find any? Anywhere know where I can get some or have any for sale? Cheers
  8. Still on the same tank of fuel after 11 days, currently just below half. Loving living closer to work :). Went for a drive yesterday with my partner and the dogs, one dog loves the car the other I had to stop quickly so she could be sick :( haha. Looks like slow driving with dogs from now on! Got my new lights the other day, not got round to fitting them yet but they look lovely. Quite a nice change from the morettes.
  9. Happy new year everyone :). I've now moved out into my own place about 2.7 miles from work rather than 20 :D. Fuel can now go towards fun rather than commuting ;).
  10. Thanks guys :). Also for christmas I got two awesome presents, first is two tickets to sheffield arena to watch the indoor trials event. The second is an experience day starting with 8 laps in a subaru sti followed by handbrake turns in a clio then onto 8 laps in an evo finishing with a hot ride :D
  11. Sorry to hear about your troubles Stants, some people just have no respect. I've been lucky these past couple of months, I've been staying in a rough area. On another note I got the keys to my first place today, very exciting :)
  12. I'm moving out into my own place for the first time at the age of 27 lol. We get the keys on the 1st Jan (or just before) but struggling to get the internet sorted online so going to have to ring them.
  13. You have such a beautiful car Savage :)
  14. Agreed, I've been getting mine done every 5k. Had to draw up a new stamp section on the back cover for the oil changes lol.
  15. Servicing should be done every 10 - 12k miles (depending on car). If you do many miles then it will just be every year. So if you get you car serviced and after 6 months you have done another 12k miles it will need another service even though it hasn't been a year. Leaving the same oil in for over the recommended mileage could cause damage as it loses its lubrication (viscosity). Hope that helps see why the dealer isn't happy about such a bit different in mileage between services :).
  16. Ouch :(. At least you tried though Stants :). My Prosport boost gauge went knackered last night, showed me boosting at 2 bar when I was sat in traffic.... then dropped to the lowest vacuum. Either wiring gone dodgy, a pipe has split or the it's knackered.
  17. Been sorting everything out for moving, got a place in Garstang close to my work. This means Im in two minds about my car... expensive to keep and will annoy everyone on the little estate but it's also 1/4 the miles I have been doing so saving lots on fuel and I have the prodrive exhaust still which is quieter ;). I don't want to get rid of it, the car is a part of me now :(
  18. Blew off a Golf this morning through some corners, went into the corners with him on my bumper and left with him 10 meters behind ;). Job done!
  19. See that's what I did to my MAF about 4 months after I got the car and it has been fine since... over a year later.
  20. Spot on, thank you!! Cheaper than the international ones as well ;). Well I suppose they would be really.
  21. Okay well I've been looking at getting some for my car, changing from Morettes. Managed to get hold of some things that go next to the grille in my colour :). Found the Angel eyes but they are only from international sellers! Any idea where I can get them from in the UK? Places sell classic and blob angel lights but not bug :(.
  22. Was ready to buy some Angel lights for my bug then realised they will be shipping from either America or some other country. Why doesn't UK have any?? They have other models of Subaru but not mine :(.
  23. I cleaned my car inside and out on thursday :). Then drove down to coventry Friday which meant it was mucky inside and out again :(. Drove back on sunday, these 3 days I'm driving to leyland for first aid training. So the car has been doing motorway miles, lots of mucky spray! lol. Do enjoy the pull in 5th gear though, from 80mph it just goes and goes! Seems to boost at 1.1 bar in 5th and only 5th which I find weird but not complaining.
  24. They are the ones i've been looking at, I think they will suit the black on blue style of my car :). Only problem is I need to find a pair of front tims for next to the lights lol.
  25. I'm with you on this one, I have morrettes and they are pretty bright but I'm bored of the style now. Thinking of changing to something else so interested to see what lights are around :).
