Had a look at mine and it's dirty. We have the same sound like I said, turns out I can hear it when accelerating hard. It is the turbo spooling up, it's like a whine.whistle that isn't that loud but can be heard.

Mine does that, I have a Bailey dump valve. I can hear it whistle if I'm slowly accelerating, if I floor it might do it but the engine and so on drown it out. As far as I'm aware it's normal, my brother in law (a mechanic) doesn't seem to be worried.

Then should be okay, might be worth double checking with someone else to be sure though

From what I know they should fit but if it's been lowered then you will get some rubbing

I've been enjoying the new handling of my car with the Avons, can't believe I've been running on rubbish tyres all this time! I may go Halfords and splash out on cleaning products ;)

Seems like you are unravelling the mystery now :P . Hope you manage to find a tyre of the same tread. I've had tyres that are different tread since I got the car. Thankfully I'm getting my new ones put on tonight, a full set of Avon ZV5's! Will post a pic of the tyres that come off the car... from what I can tell there isn't much left of the inside tread.

Came home to the owners club tshirt, very chuffed :P perfect for this weather! Also fitted the scoop that I bought on ebay.... don't like it :( . Now need to find out if he will take it back so I can have a refund!

I've not done much, fitted a couple of blue vac hoses on the car and got myself a full set of Avon ZV5's ready to go on sometime this week. Mainly been away in the hills over the weekend and driven back today, sun was blazing and plenty of activity on the roads. Nice cars on the road and so on, made for a great birthday drive :) . Also been given as a present a Subaru World Rally Team watch, it's spotless except for a couple of scuffs on the inside of the links. You have to study it to find them though!

I do try sometimes Also, does anyone have any idea why my main beam doesn't work... but does? What I mean by this is I can switch main beam on, the light on the dash comes on, the relay clicks and here's the weird part... behind the casing of the main beam a light comes one BUT the bulb is still in the holder? There isn't anything that should light up behind there!!

Decided I'm going to try out a set of "Bridgestone Potenza RE050A" as they are on offer apparently. My brother has a couple in his garage for a customer today and they look fantastic!

Think everyone loves buying car stuff but hates paying for it ;) . I now know how to get that turbo flutter/chatter, you just remove your dump valve and blank it off. It's apparently safe on the TD series of turbos but the VF series don't like it at all. Be nice to blank it off and go for a drive to see if it sounds good or not :P

Waiting on my newly aquired scoop and intercooler... once I have them I will fit my blue vac lines, the scoop and intercooler. Then look at making a shiny aluminium undertray for the scoop :)

Is the car driving okay or is it in limp mode?

Quick question... is it possible for me to get chatter like this? Ever since I heard it on rally cars years ago i've loved the noise, prefer it over "pssst" sound. Also does it REALLY harm your car? There is loads of rubbish flying around about cars these days and would be nice to know the truth.

I'm going for a full set of Falken's next month, they sound really good. I'm going for a full set because the rears are close and the fronts are just terrible and give up at the first sign of moisture! :(

To find that out you measure from one stud to the adjecent one, the measurements are in mm so it's either 100mm or 114mm.

Does snow foam do as good a job as washing by hand? Cars look awesome when covered in it mind. I've been busy the past couple of days helping my brother in law bail his field, bailer went wrong in every way it could as well which is annoying. All done now though! Yesterday morning we went to the Subaru breakers and they had sold the intercooler I was after, also all the bonnets had massive stone chips to rival mine so not worth getting a replacement. They did offer me a "High Flow" intercooler, it was massive! Said they want £220 for it... considering it's like £800 for one I may get it but for now I've walked away. Quick question, I was under the impression you can use a blob scoop on a bug but they said it's not possible without some modification. Is that correct? May head out for a drive today, get some fuel (Haven't filled up in 2 weeks, joys of driving little miles). Then go on an adventure to make up for it :P

Comes with everything, brackets and Y pipe. Will see how it goes, I'm heading for 300bhp so if the car drives rough or anything it might kick start my upgrade :) EDIT: I've checked my brackets and they have been modified already. Looks like it's had a bigger intercooler on before, maybe during it's previous remap? There's a lot of mystery with this car it seems.
