  1. Those horns look pretty good that colour. I know you probably will but... pics when on car please? ;) I'm on a half day at work today, going to my Niece's sports day this afternoon. She's 6 (nearly 7) and wanted her Uncle to be there haha. She better win something! Means she gets a ride home in the Subaru as well.
  2. You never told me pics of the car would be fine.... now I feel stupid
  3. Welcome... you are making a wise choice ;)
  4. That's creepy, might just have been doing it as a joke but it's just silly. Glad nothing came of it though :) . That is very tedious BUT at least it's only one more stage of sanding right? Sorry to hear that James, is it really bad? I really try to avoid parking in the Subaru now, if I have to then I park miles away from any other cars lol.
  5. How much more do you have to do? Looks like a fine job if that makes you feel any better? lol. Also it's very quiet lately, what's everyone doing? :P
  6. I honestly didn't think that was going to work, might have to do it now! :P
  7. Looks like I'm switching to waterless coolant... interesting :P
  8. Looking at getting some Vac hoses in pink (to match the strut brace) although I've no idea where to get some from? Can anyone point me in the right direction? Also... towards a stainless manifold and up pipe?
  9. Not sure if this will help or not but when I checked my ECU I wanted to know if it was from this car or not.... I found this: http://www.scoobypedia.co.uk/index.php/Knowledge/ECUVersionCompatibilityList
  10. Not a problem, you can't have power without heat really. I remember it scared me a bit because everytime I got back home I could smell that the engine is very hot but it is normal. Aye, just a stones throw away! You should take a quick look at the NBO thread, it's on the 29th June at Ripon.
  11. That seems to be the way things go with me lol, nothing is ever simple. Glad you know someone with the skill to get things to fit no matter what! Shame about the up pipe, I have a feeling that's what is blowing on mine. The sound does seem to be coming from below the turbo :( . If it is I will be getting a stainless manifold and up pipe. That would just leave the downpipe that's not stainless. Best of luck getting it all sorted!
  12. Mine runs at just on the lower side of half, I've got a new radiator though. Welcome btw, nice to see someone on my side of the hills lol
  13. Funnily enough I was looking at them thinking what I could do, stainless would be a good idea! How would a go about getting them? Do I need "special" ones or just go B&Q lol
  14. Thanks! Yeah it's even got my brother in law foxed...
  15. Are you getting it mapped Rick? If so then yeah may as well get it all done, less hassle :) . Right, I have vinyl wrapped my alternator today and just been out for a bit of a thrash. When I got back I decided to check how the vinyl is holding up, it feels quite hot but not too hot. Do you think I should remove it and just have the air scoop wrapped on it own? Could do the fuse box as well so at least there are two things wrapped in there. Any thoughts?
  16. Woke up this morning to plenty of sunshine so decided that I will do a little work on the Subaru, popped the hood and studied the view thinking what I could do. (Also, anyone know what the bracket in the top left is?) Decided that it's way too dirty to wait until I do the hoses so out came the plastic bits to reveal the dirt underneath! I gave the engine bay a good wipe down, used some back to black type stuff on the vav pipes, water hoses and any plastic trim that is in there. Then once that was done used back to black on the airbox and just gave it a really good clean. As for the alternator cover and air scoop I thought it's now or never and went ahead with the wrap. So 2 hours later I ended up with this. Not as easy as I first thought so didn't turn out perfect but it's good enough for me to be happy at the minute :). So went back outside and put it all back together making sure I didn't miss any bolts and all tubing is back in the correct place. The finished product for today is.... Not bad I don't think :D
  17. Spent most of the day doing a little bit of a clean in the engine bay, will be posting on my project page soon :) Hopefully you will find somewhere Gambit, would be good to do a little meet for club members and tag alongs! Now James on the subject of them females, I thought getting a Subaru (especially a blue one with gold wheels) would liven up the attention but so far owning this beast has given me no extra pleasure besides the boost :P . I'm obviously living in the wrong place, I would be better owning a tractor!
  18. Glad to see I'm not the only one! lol. My mate raved about it so I tried it. He couldn't unstand why I gave it back to him after a day
  19. Did you play the 2nd one? The game itself looked awesome but I just couldn't get into the way it controlled :(
  20. That looks fantastic! Have you replaced the washer bottle and so on with new ones or just painted them?
  21. Given her a clean and a spin dry, thought about taking the plastic bits out of the engine bay and spucing them up but running out of daylight. Will give the engine bay a good clean tomorrow if weather holds out :) . Everyone is going away this weekend, my mates, family, you name it. So it's just me and the Subaru... plenty of time to mess around with it
  22. Great idea!! Although my nickname with my mates is actually Gaul the Poat (Paul the Goat ... long story). Gaul the Poat Edition Sounds alright to me ;)
  23. It's okay though, as I've said... free to play now :)
  24. Can't even see any in that pic, she's actually going through insurance for it? Crazy woman
