I used to work on a lot of American cars back in the day and one of the strange phenomena was that you used to get a lazy starter and also a lot of mechanical noise when turning over and this was due to a bent armature which over time used to get worse - never seen it on anything ever since though

If there are any manufacturer details and also any other numbers you may be able to research on eBay, bear in mind that the compressors would have been made for many models of vehicle so chances are it would be the same one fitted to another make and model of car

I can understand the fear of CVT failure but each car is different as to how they have been driven or maintained. Personally I would change the fluid regardless and as long as you use a garage that is 'au fait' with CVT transmissions and knows how to interpret the fluid that has been drained (e.g. colour, smell, residue, metal filings, etc) then you shouldn't have an issue with it

Crikey, that is such a shame that you ended up losing the car over time, I have had the same thing with a Rover 200 LE 'BRM' which I should never had parted with and would love to have that back. Well the first thing I would be checking if you have found what you have so far that isn't right - either someone bodged things in the first place hence stripped wires, short circuits, poor earths, etc - I would be very tempted to keep looking for anything else that isn't as it should be. Most imports were required to have an immobiliser fitted in the UK for insurance purposes. If there is one in there I would put money on that being the issue as they used to go faulty all the time - remove it and see if that makes a difference

Hi....welcome to the club With Cats (Catalytic Converters) they do just the one job, clean the exhaust fumes by changing the gases into something less harmful (e.g. Carbon Monoxide into Carbon Dioxide, Hydrocarbons into Hydrogen, etc) so unless there is something wrong with the exhaust emissions which is measured at an MOT test or if there is a rattling noise because the ceramic monolith (otherwise known as a brick) has broken up inside then you shouldn't need to maintain a Cat or do anything else with it. So, what is the issue you have with your Cats ?

Well my thoughts are that is when the turbo is kicking in and if you below those revs then you are labouring the transmission which in turn can then wear the clutch. For the cost of new spark plugs I would put some in just as they haven't been changed for a while. When you take them out, check for their condition which will tell you quite a bit about what is occurring in the engine and specifically is one cylinder is different from the others (colour of plug, etc).

Either you have lost pressure on one or more of the tyres in which case inflating (a couple of PSI over the recommended as you can always let some pressure out) to see if that puts the light out and if any tyres are low on pressure then you have a leak. Alternatively, one of the sensors may be defective in which case I would take it back to whomever fitted it in the first place

Delivering an electric range of over 300 miles WLTP, electric motors on the front and rear axles produce a combined torque of around 430 Nm and acceleration from 0 to 62 mph in 5.0 seconds. The Subaru Uncharted AWD used its optional POWER drive mode for optimum sporty performance on the race circuit. Subaru’s partnership with WorldSBK reflects a shared commitment to technological relevance, sustainability, and lower-emission mobility. I have seen roof mounted spare wheels mainly on adventure trucks

well the 3.0 ltr is a great engine and quite rare so I don't imagine it will take long to sell if priced reasonably

That sounds like a fantastic machine - feel free to post up some photos to see what it looks like. Price is always hard to judge but for something quite rare then it is always a discussion to be had with the right buyer

I would advise to get it tested and repaired if it your only key fob There are specialist companies online and even Timpsons can sort it out

If the Forester is an AWD vehicle then you are advised to match the pair of tyres to the axle (e.g. same tread wear remaining on two tyres on the rear and same for the front, if there is undue wear on any of the tyres it also means that you will be scrubbing out another tyre when you swap them around. I would advise take it to a tyre bay and I'm sure they can guide you and also rectify any faults there maybe with alignment, etc

I reckon they will be fine for the job, particularly with traction but if low profile then it won't have much defences against potholes but summer tyres are fine, we didn't use to have them in the UK until a few years ago

It sounds like it would be standard practice if the alarm has been retrofitted in which case it is not standard equipment on a Subaru. In principle, this is fine and I cannot imagine the alarm would be faulty as used to install alarms and never had any issues at all. Saying that I have just bought a secondhand motorhome and it has the best alarm known to mankind apparently but I can't work out how to fully use it so they recommend to return to base (company that fitted it) where they will go through and check everything, guide me on getting the full potential from it and although they would charge £70 for the privilege they even let you stay on their campsite within that as well. Seems a no-brainer to me but if in doubt, go by an independent alarm fitter and get them to check over the operation.
