I have plans to build my own engine in the summer,but for me I wont have the car off the road,unless my current engine gives in, as mine engine does fairly good power am going buy another engine and just build it at my own speed in my spare time.

Guess that depends on a few things.are you good with spanner,do you no how to build a engine,do you want to spend the time building a engine or have it straight their.ready built i would guess have a warranty build your self anything goes wrong its start again. Sent from my LG-D855 using Tapatalk

Thank you for the info! I was thinking of first just buying a straight through pipe to delete the resonator. I already have a pro-drive back box fitted, so I was thinking it may create a slightly better sound without it. My only problem is looking at the straight through pipes, you get either 2.5" or 3" bore diameter and I'm not sure what's fitted to the WRX-S 2.5 is normal size.aftermarket is 3.inch.people think it gives more power 3inch but 2.5 is capable of 350vhp.the cobra i had i went for 3inch and they made a peace to join 2 diffrent size pipes to each other.sttaight through pipe will open sound up for you. belt is loose,mine did same,tightened belt 1 full turn on nut,perfect now.wants about same amout off play as your ac belt.

welcome fellow hatch owner,look forwards to the pictures,if your going to change the exhaust then make sure you get a unresinated centre section.the hatch has pritty good sound deadening,my first hatch wrx I had a cobra catback system with quad pipes and resonated centre section,lasted 2 week and I went and had centre section changed as was 2 quiet,even unresinated it not very loud in car and did not drone on motorway,exhaust uk at Sheffield cut the diffuser when they fitted it,mine was a catback system,stick a sport cat on will help relase the bhp when remapt and give bit more noise. I now have another hatch with a full decat system,longlife brand with single 4inch tail pipe,this is still quiet in car but when you get the revs to about 4500-5000 it comes to life and sounds great,will be up for sale soon as I am going for a invidia Q300 quad pipe system for it.

Its the pod that you get with the prosport gauge.i just cut a hole in surround big enough to get base plate holes through then bonded the plate on inside so it looks tidy Sent from my LG-D855 using Tapatalk

so done bit looking on web and found a firm in usa that do a conversion kit to change from 5-114 to 5-100 but I am after them the opposite way so have sent them a msg to see if they do that,firm is LIC motorsports also on fastwrx.com they sell hubs and stuff so I have msg them to see if the 5-114 hub fits the wrx,just see if they reply now,if they say they do then can look see any available in uk,at worst would have to import theirs,but sure somewere in uk will sell them if they say they fit http://www.fastwrx.com/products/subaru-rear-hub-2008-2014-wrx-sti

hi can anyone tell me if sti hubs will fit my 08 hatch wrx or would i need to fit drive shafts as well and if so do the sti drive shafts fit a wrx,cheers.

ok guys and girls, as the title say lets see them engine bays, don't be shy, if its dirty, clean, show stopper or half finished lets have a look, we all show are cars off but not much showing of the bays. here is mine to start 08 wrx hatch,bit dirty and just started painting some parts blue, got lots ideas for it so much more to come.
