  1. Hi there, nice looking motor,i will look out for you as in the area ;)
  2. Its obviously black for several reasons......... a- i have one b- i have one c- i have one :P
  3. Makes life a little easier :)
  4. Very B) Gaulson, would love some more pics please, little further back and few angles :D
  5. Cheers,I do miss it Gaulson :( ,just having the time, kids liked it sometimes but it was a full day out when going peaks. All the lanes, not to mention chances of breaking something and needing next day for work=bit stressful at times. Like taking your subaru for a good few hours on the track, then next day using for work...........kind of takes the edge off. Did not break much though over the years, and never needed towing home. Couple of issues where water and starting issues, 2 days after a very flooded day in the peaks. Other than that a fubar CV joint, ended up changing the drive shaft. Parts not bad though, iirc it was £145 for the n/s shaft. Not looking forward to finding out how much some subaru parts are I will be looking for a discrete dash cam though, sub £100 ideally :)
  6. Love the thread, going to get a dedicated cam for the subaru,of past i used a canon sx220hs and used suction cup mount like Now the video(even though display is turned around the right way) films upside down,so on youtube it requires a 180o spin My fav is over stanage edge before ruined, was with Madison(6 at time ) and she was not happy at some parts, worth a watch if have time, stunnign views and yes.............on the edge!!! Many vids uploaded, wont bore with all i did, here are some This is peak district,my truck is 7ft 7" to top of crate so no easy task(after 2 mins) to get under a low branch..........had to climb up on side to get under(as can tell by Rach's expressions Play in the mud at wigan off road(wildor) From 5 mins, rach gives a mate whip lash(seriously) form taking a hill too fast ,driving his truck in front This is the boss taking the truck for a drive on aberdaron beach.........not allowed any more :( Up bamford Will leave it at that, but lots of vids on venn105 chanel Hopefully will get some subaru ones done :) Cheers ven :)
  7. Very nice tidy example,i too like the oe look or in keeping B)
  8. As above, OAT only due to alloy ,mine is orange from subaru's last service. I bought some ready mixed coolant from halfords(on trade card so cheap) for any topping up...........not needed to since last October from buying car!!=happy me :) It had me fooled though!! I thought my water was rusty :o until i realised that the orange coolant looks like rust when dripped on plastic etc Not best of ideas as makes you think(well me anyway at 1st) that my system was corroded.............I even rang subaru again to double check on everything. The service chap said his looks the same but never went into detail. So later on is when i noticed the new coolant looked rusty when dripped on plastic!
  9. Car is stunning, lovely example B) Looked into the raptor as looks the mutts nuts ,but "maybe" too loud for me But i change my mind like the wind,so never say never
  10. Next time you go wales, road to and around bala is very nice. http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?f=23&t=1426809&nmt=RE%3A+North+Wales%3A+My+Dream+Drive
  11. Just a thought regarding water temp, bare in mind where its fitted, pre or post stat. If after you will get nothing till the stat opens(most gauges start at 40oC) then will rise quick to the 70s...........etc etc as now coolant passing an open stat. If plumbed into a pipe(maybe heater matrix) then you have engine coolant temp (pre stat),if stat fails you would be able to tell "possibly" in time with it going hot quick, may save a h/g ..............Just a thought from when i last fitted a water temp gauge(not to a subaru though). Other options would be tapping into stat housing before the stat and fitting the sensor. Most manufacturers gauges(the needle ) have a built in temp parameter(so the customer is not alarmed due to it rising/falling all the time),so it can show 1/2 way all the time ,yet it could be 70oC or 100oC for example...........only when its too late and rises, the damage can be done! Again just thoughts :)
  12. Thanks Jay :D much appreciated...............but £500 :o would have to be 50% discount to get my interest tbh or at least bring down to what i can get a spoiler for (£300) . I am not even a fan of CF(fake or not) ,its like a happy medium for me for finding an STI spoiler. Really dont want to pay(well the boss wont )more than that............ 1/6th of the value on the boot
  13. Washed it............car too :P oils n waters checked as always done weekly. Looks clean till it drives 1/2 a mile on the m60 .........ok i exaggerate..............1/4 of a mile
  14. Me Gambit? If so no,not looked, and a deal would be B) Bummer with the net,i gave up on BT years back after they tried to have me over ,been with virgin since and tbh a few gremlins but nothing major in maybe 6+yrs. Did a check on the air2 other night and(obv wifi) had 160meg and 15 up load............pretty good. Trouble is,be it BT,Virgin, sky etc ,someone will always have a horror story..........
  15. This will possibly be the one i go for come time........... Have a look at one of the pics, show on a black Subaru........does not look too bad from pic,but still need to be sure . http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/331277553303?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
  16. Sure it fits yours,i have a cobra(need to get centre part still) and sounds great(to me anyway)as it is .When i 1st got the car i could hardly hear anything, slight burble when concentrating. Now deep burble, sounds moderate outside(she said she could hear me coming down the road from a good way away) but its not intrusive. Just enough to :D and not I know bug,but size may give idea, not measured it(can do) but sure 4" From....... to Imo cobra offer pretty good value systems and its good quality ,not discoloured at all.............
  17. Not far from the sea, you have a better view than me! (had to google it) my jograffy is as good as my spelling
  18. Outskirts of Bolton ,used to go Leyland fab design a lot off at J8 near botony bay. About (well used to be) 20 min drive.
  19. Congrats,would love to see a pic or 3 ;)
  20. The boss has given go ahead for spoiler(can't hide that one tbh ,little noticeable and she knows her cars and STi spoilers) So time permitting I will nip up Leyland ,£300 cash but more important I can check it out to see if will look ok 1st. Best bit, said she will treat me to it if I wait a bit :-) I need to keep spiking her drinks with man thought pills :-)
  21. Cant help other than link i have when i bought a couple(i did not use but no doubt will) http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/230652186731?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT Just fit the fuse removed into the double fitting along with the one for device I have just bought a detector this minute!!! Good idea having one, more so with all the cameras around me,nothing fancy at 1st More for when i go into Wales to the van, where they love cameras!!! Cheap n cheerful http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/171358178037?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT Never had a speeding ticket.............you know what will come now
  22. Opie are fantastic, have used in past for for previous motor, great service(quick delivery) and good value too. See for any discounts or promotions too :)
  23. Hi there, nice looking motor :) regarding DV the newage dont like them without being mapped for, they can(have read up ,researched over various forms of sites/info) cause a loss in performance. One common answer is stick with the standard re-circ unless going for big hp(will require bigger turbo anyway...........) When i got mine,i got a slight whistle and a snail sneeze with window down,a performance panel filter(more air in) and cobra rear exhaust has made quite a difference. Turbo spool whistle more pronounced,-re-circ DV louder now and can hear it ,without it sounding too loud. If you do go that way, dont buy any cheap ebay rubbish for £60 etc, decent DV ,maybe Forge, but look more into it. I would avoid imho unless mapped into, then add another £350 ish for that to the £150 ish for DV . In a nut shell ,filter, zaust, cat removed and 3 port(possible higher rated fuel pump) and re-map last may see you get up yo 280hp which is around the limit of the td04,any more and bigger turbo . Unlike the original, the newage req a re-map for most mods(after cat back and air filter side fine, dont go for a cone filter though) so best to stock up,get fitted, then mapped to save money in long run. Can be done for around £700 all in for a potential 280hp...............car dependent of course, may see 260hp,even then the re-circ DV is still advised. Without the hp figures,i would get it done to suit you and what you want your drive to be. I am no expert, but spent a while re-searching....... Cheer ven
  24. Your a star Andy, will go this route me thinks :) Poland ebay i presume, sure i have seen them, good news on the holes being spot on. Slightly different note, spoke about the CF high level spoiler and just has holes each side too(no extra to drill so easier) and £300 cash, picking up from Leyland way. Decisions decisions, pick up (cash) is to see if would look ok in CF,dont want to pay £300+ and it not look right........so worth driving rather than delivery if makes sense. Doing your way would save £100........... Thanks again Andy
