  1. I've gone from a 2005 corolla T sport, I've had a classic impreza a few years back too. The road noise isn't really noticeable to be honest. Could it be tyres? Or anything else which is making it louder than it should be?
  2. Cheers, are the hangers eay to put back in the classic position for my mechanic who will fit it? Had my worst ebay experience, did get a full refund, then it ended up coming 2 days later, but good job I got my refund as it had holes in and needs welding! Now I'm sending back to seller! when he puts postage cost into my paypal. Sorry for the rant but had to let it out somewhere. Hope you had a good holiday.
  3. Lol, am going to stick to pc/laptop. Just spotted all my spelling mistakes. I'm handing myself into the grammar police. Fat fingers no good for phone use.
  4. Cheers are a bargain. I just wanted a green and gold combo so went for a used set of speedlines. What size u on at the moment.
  5. BUMP???? Are these really overpriced? it is open to offers also, they are BRAND NEW, IN BOX, WITH TUNING NUTS#####
  6. It's in subaru parts for sale section, I'd say hard to seel 3 alloys. Sell the tyres seperat and the wheels as singles to those who need one more like yourself. Or find one so you have a set of 4.
  7. Thanks for that, I just saw a couple of exhaust threads so thought best not to clutter lol. I've looked at some of the reviews, and very positive on the 2fast2cool. Many saying they are basically same as Japspeed etc, only visual difference I can notice is really that I think the Japspeed is a slash cut tailpipe, the 2fast2cool one looks straight, tailpipe is 4" and think rest of it is 3"catback. Really wanted this job to get done sooner but a ***wasted 3 weeks of mine on ebay and I've managed to get my refund now. My standard rearbox looks almost like new still but the rest does look bit old and dated now so may aswell get the full thing.
  8. All sorted?
  9. Guys i'm going to be a bit of a *** and get onto a subject of classic gc8 subaru turbo. Still an exhaust question just though. 3 weeks ago i won a hks super dragger backbox, but unfortuanetly fell victim to a shady seller, never arrived, got a full refund. I'm now thinking catback and maybe brand new. I'm just wanting upgrade from standard. Has anyone bought or heard the full systems from 2Fast2cool £190 posted and currently 5% off so around £180, looks well and is 4"tailpipe, i'm thinking it's they're own brand, have many scooby parts, its a toss up between this or japspeed which tbh looks very similar, but at i think around £60 more Any feedback appreciated, hoping to buy something this week.
  10. Very nice wheels. But way outta my reach if I was buying a used pair. Not saying they not worth that, and am a bit unsure what to really compare them to. But if you have had a go on ebay at buy now or best offer, I'm sure you will get some silly offers and an idea of what people are willing to pay. I've also got some brand new, boxed ultralites for sale, very very good price and on here no replies, and even on ebay a couple of laughable offers even though they are alsmost £100 cheaper than other new. "NOT OUTTA BOX!".
  11. This is a good buy. Recently ordered a HKS on ebey, but seems I may have fallen to a bit of a shady seller, almost a fortnight and the communication is rubbish. If I go through reporting and end up with a refund, if you've still got this I'll be interested. Ordered it a day before this came on for sale :( GLWS.
  12. What has happened here is an absolute ***** of an experience. But when I used to trade around 5 years back, I only bought off private buyers. Always worked in my and my partners favour at the time. We did it for the love of cars and at the same time making a pretty penny. Also all my cars I've ever bought which include ATR's x3, 2 scoobys in the past, ep3 and the list is endless. We sometimes had a waste of a trip but were always willing to travel sometimes close to upto 300 miles. Buying from trade allows the trader to be liable and does give a buyer that piece of mind I guess and especially if not clued up. Although it can cost thousands more especially when part exchanging, as thats where the money is for traders. My point here is don't let it put you off buying privately. Main thing is to at least go with someone that is a little clued up, I'm sure if the head gasket was that far gone, it should have been spotted via the gunk, the reservoir bottle etc. But not every seller is a con man. If your son drove far for this car, sometimes it works in the favour of the seller purely cos of the mindset of when travelling 100's of miles people usually don't like to go away empty handed. But a wasted day and money spent on petrol can save thousands. There are many many good people out there, that if they know of a problem will highlight it and tell you directly any serious issues with the car. Some may not genuinely know and with private sellers, sold as seen. Don't let this one experience put you off buying from genuine people, they do still exist. Your individual case however does signal the buyer was aware, and it's a shame that some *** has probably taken advantage of your son. When a buyer recently came for my car, he didn't even check the oil, water levels, and a few other bits that wanted checking. I have often had buyers like this in the past, very trusting and not clued up on even the car they are buying. My advice always given weather they buy mine or not: Research the model you are buying, common faults/problems, check history, check oil levels, reservoir bottles, clutch biting points, locking nut key! and a few other things. I.e if vtec-make sure it kicks in (I have seen faulty, ONLY 1), anything that can give you as a buyer a bargaining point. To be fair I usually give this advice after sealing the deal, however what I used to sell, I always make/made sure I would buy it myself & any known faults repaired to a standard as if I was keeping the car for myself or a family member.
  13. Not all today but whats to come. Orders sti pink front star badge Wheel centre subaru decal as I've one missing (Subarubits) Hks super dragger cat back arriving this week. Mintex Disks and adl pads all around last week. Fittted a nice set of Rubber mats after washing em with soap and large sweeping brush. Fitted perfectly, (good strong pair stayed with me for years.)
  14. Spotted 2 clasics on the m62 going in direction of manchester/rochdale etc. 1 blue maybe an import T reg, and a mica red w plate which looked clean and a uk model, travelling together in convoy, (maybe off to the NW meet?)
  15. This is my Subaru impreza UK turbo. Bought off my brother recently who had to move on to get a more spacious car. 51 plate registered 2001, so it's the last of the mill regarding the classic shape. 56k and completely standard. A little car history, have owned a classic in the past and a blobeye sti when I used to have a traders policy around 4 years ago Also have had a few ATR's. My most previous car was my 3rd Corolla T sport which I had for 3 years + so fancied a change and a bit more power. Since owning the Subaru: Managed to source a used set of 16"gold speedlines with tyres (wanted to stay @ 16") Installed Mintex discs all around and ADL pads Awaiting HKS super dragger exhaust I won on ebay Brother had installed the lip/splitter Not really wanting to do too much more in all honesty, hoping to get a dumpvalve/not really fussed about brand at the moment but am wanting something with a bit of sound (suggestions welcome).
  16. 18"ULTRALITE/Gunmetal with a polished lip. BRAND NEW, originally bought by my brother for at that time his classic Impreza. Not even taken out of the box. 2 fitments 5x100 and 5x114.3 Rims only-no tyres. £380 ono I recently bought the Classic impreza but I only wanted GOLD wheels on as my own preference, These are Brand new, also including Tuning lug nuts which were bought at an additional cost. I am also hoping to have these on ebay, but would like if someone from here buys them. COLLECTION ONLY Location: Bradford, West Yorkshire. 07717 622221
  17. Welcome, lots to choose from wheel wise. There is a few in for sale section here. Also depends on colour, mist obvious choice Gold wheels and tbf they do look good on scoobys, especially blue/black and Green.
  18. Just want to introduce myself. Now own the classic Mica green scooby uk 2000 turbo. This may confuse some members but as to why I'm introducing myself once again. I've bought it off my brother who still has access, but has got a bigger german car due to growing family. I should and hope to be a little more active as slightly more clued on uploading pics etc. Also hopefully in summer I like to organise the odd local meet as I did with my old club. Some history, it's my second UK turbo, owned one around 4 years ago in Mica blue, and owned an Sti prodrive blobeye also the same around 4 years ago when I used to buy and sell due to having a traders policy. My most recent car was a Toyota corolla 1.8 vvtl-i T SPORT. (owned for over 3 years, was my third T sport) Another all time favourite is the accord type r's, which I have also ironically owned 3 before settling down with the toyota. Hope to make a thread of the classic very soon. Come back to the Subaru because the previous ones I owned was great cars. Loved both of them, the opportunity rised to own another that I knew was a good low mileage example (56k), with the right history. Also fancied more power and more scope for power which do not come when having a naturally aspirated car.
  19. Got some brand new ultralite spec 18", boxed and unused and untouched, with lug tuning nuts. They are in dark grey with a polised silver lip. Really nice. Will be getting a thread up soon. My bro bought em new for the classic but changed car, so ive taken majority ownership for now as he needed sumat bigger due to new addition. However i only wanted to put gold and got a used set of speedlines.
  20. That looks good, hope mine is as clean as that when it arrives or may have to get brasso on the job.
  21. Booked in tomorow for Mintex discs and ADL pads all around. Also won a HKS super Dragger 3" catback yesterday off good old ebay, looks clean and in good condition. If anyone has any feedback on the exhaust (how loud)? appreciated.
  22. I'd try giving it a decent run if it's been parked up a while. Mainly for emissions purposes and to clean any carbon etc out really. Also flat spots on tyres but I doubt 2 months would cause them. Also good luck.
  23. Cheers, will be a few weeks yet, I'm upgrading exhaust soon and then a dumpvalve. These are the 2 main things I'm wanting to change from stock really. I'm thinking baileys at the minute but I'm mainly after the noise of the dump. Not sure what the differences are such as circulating/non circulating etc.
