  1. They will indeed and that is a great price - ill keep an eye out for a potential new home for them
  2. what lamps are they in a classic H4??
  3. aaaah yes I had completely forgotten about that - that explains why I am searching for stuff I know has been there before but cannot find it
  4. If you haven't trashed the caliper you might want to contact Cusco as he refurbs them and dependant on cost you could resell to recoup some money - or have a working spare you can rotate for future servicing?
  5. I think this is a how too thread somewhere that Gambit has put some pics up... will have a dig
  6. :D :D :D funny So - If Fonzey is able to accommodate with storage etc - a reasonable deposit is offered / accepted, I don't know say £150 then some form of stage payments of say 4 x £200 or 2 x £400 then come the summer you have some nearly new BC goodness and intact genitalia??
  7. Cant answer the TPS question so will leave that to the more experienced classic owners. The question of water in the dash came up recently answered by Miggs http://uk.subaruownersclub.com/forums/topic/4536-maybe-a-silly-question-gushing-sound/ wrt the FMIC why are you looking to fit one? Are you looking at some big power mods? A good TMIC is fine for over 300bhp so would it be worth looking at an uprated TMIC which would be easier to fit and retain your original front end?
  8. I use BG products additive and engine cleaner when refuelling and servicing my Van with great results, lowered engine running temp by 20 degrees post treatment
  9. I assume you could do with the original vector - I could also do with that as I was going to have a set of plastic show plates made up for the same reason one for Steve... Ill drop him an email

completely agree, discussion, engagement actively encouraged - the search engine on here using google is better than other older forum searches I have been on - doesnt do too bad a job with finding the text even if the title is unrelated
  11. Sounds like your first how to mod thread - any chance of some pics please :D
  12. If it helps fund a continued build and the price is fair - whats the problem??
  13. you could also have a split tube somewhere which is allowing boost to escape triggering a fault situation
  14. Jay762 replied to jorgen's topic in Subaru Forester Club
yeah erm about that.... we are not too sharp on that as you may have gathered, the only time I have done it is when something looks like it could be a really good discussion and its worth catching the answers in one place or we have had a duplicate run which has been consolidated - I only sussed out how to do it about 3 weeks ago :D I also realised I was one of the worst for making things go off at a tangent
  15. Just looked at the ad - just what is an STI NOT Turbo?? you will need to do some phoning around for insurance - start with Gambits recommendation and go from there, going on compare the market etc isnt necessarily going to get you very far, need a specialist broker
  16. The red bug wrx does look clean - reading the ad does seem like an older chap who shopped around before hand - you can get the alloys looking brand new for £250 (dependant on colour) up Tipton. Spoiler - do as Gambit says or get it blown over - either way not a huge cost. One point though you are not going to get a 50k FSH rust free classic or bug wrx for £1500 these cars get driven if they dont they get cherished have few miles on them and command upwards of 4k
  17. If it is just rust and the threads are in good condition I would look at dressing them using a wire wheel and a drill or bench grinder then either paint them, plate them or leave them shiney
  18. If it didnt have to happen before the weekend I'm not too far from you so we could sort something out if you covered some diesel so you could look a bit further afield - Chigwell is only a couple of hours away if you travel at the right time. Get the right car for yourself as if it is your first one you don't want a rubbish experience
  19. the wagon does look a better condition car - less miles more detail in what has been done may be more of a confidence building buy, I would be interested to see what receipts are with it as it sounds like the type of person to keep them
  20. A little TLC and it should be fine 130,000 miles listed - dependant on service history you may turn up some faults if there has been gaps in it, put some money aside for bushes if they havent been changed - Has the clutch ever been done and turbo refurbed - if not budget for that as well
  21. Car looks nice however the details in the ad conflict - described as a 2.0l but with a turbo back exhaust??? I would want confirmation of exactly what I was going to view over priced I thought - I would be looking at offering £1200 - 1400 max once I had viewed it and seen all was ok but for £1400 I would expect it to be very tidy
  22. I would do some research into if the OEM bolts are hardened in any way or material of a particular shear strength - If that is ok you should be fine
