  1. Unfortunately wrt to Dopey Twits I have had the complete opposite on successive occasions and would never recommend them.
  2. I think their time would be better spent honouring their existing commitments regarding insurance products tbh.
  3. Its starting to sound like you need to complete a good service - good oil & filter plus decent plugs and possibly an air filter then start trouble shooting - check the codes, check all your earth contact points are corrosion free, check your tubing for splits / leaks, check for a spark - even though thought that could be breaking down under load I would echo Mr B and advise caution whilst you are investigating because if you are driving around still boosting fine but having fuel dropping off you are going to run lean and that is like turning your blow torch flame from yellow flickering flame to bright blue and it will burn through your pistons in no time
  4. no, just to scrape the old stuff off and replace - will stop all the crud burning off on the exhaust pipes etc and smelling if you did it in situ plus back ache leaning over to get it off
  5. throw in a La Rue Tactical OSR and a can of WD40 and I'm alllllllllllll good :P
  6. fair enough I dont blame you ;)
  7. I would plate over powder coating - its not tough enough to withstand the socket or grinding against the wheel mounting face, will look shabby instantly.
  8. great to hear - but of course around here its not true without photographic evidence - feel free to put up a new thread or post in the gallery ;)
  9. great update all the same - shows the perils of over torquing :)
  10. Tom feel free to take photos as it may help identify what you have / dont have - ie door pillars / A frames, key fobs etc
  11. I have seen it on the top of bike and car radiators - it is there to get the air to flow through the fins not over the top, you can replace it for a better look or fashion a plate
  12. They will indeed and that is a great price - ill keep an eye out for a potential new home for them
  13. what lamps are they in a classic H4??
  14. aaaah yes I had completely forgotten about that - that explains why I am searching for stuff I know has been there before but cannot find it
  15. If you haven't trashed the caliper you might want to contact Cusco as he refurbs them and dependant on cost you could resell to recoup some money - or have a working spare you can rotate for future servicing?
  16. I think this is a how too thread somewhere that Gambit has put some pics up... will have a dig
  17. :D :D :D funny So - If Fonzey is able to accommodate with storage etc - a reasonable deposit is offered / accepted, I don't know say £150 then some form of stage payments of say 4 x £200 or 2 x £400 then come the summer you have some nearly new BC goodness and intact genitalia??
  18. Cant answer the TPS question so will leave that to the more experienced classic owners. The question of water in the dash came up recently answered by Miggs http://uk.subaruownersclub.com/forums/topic/4536-maybe-a-silly-question-gushing-sound/ wrt the FMIC why are you looking to fit one? Are you looking at some big power mods? A good TMIC is fine for over 300bhp so would it be worth looking at an uprated TMIC which would be easier to fit and retain your original front end?
  19. I use BG products additive and engine cleaner when refuelling and servicing my Van with great results, lowered engine running temp by 20 degrees post treatment
  20. I assume you could do with the original vector - I could also do with that as I was going to have a set of plastic show plates made up for the same reason one for Steve... Ill drop him an email
