First subaru so don't know if this is normal
Wotcha and welcome - all normal stuff - the clutch is a little heavier than the honda car examples and they do idle lumpy, mine gives a little shudder every few revs, I have read that equal length manifold pipes will make it smoother and sound more like an inline four engine but not tried it myself

it would work out just fine - I would fit all of the tasty aftermarket bits and make sure there were enough test miles on it for you so when you had it back you would know it all worked great :D In fact Miggs and I could share the testing for you

Engine failure
Welcome - sorry to hear about that The bearing failure (allegedly because of slight miss alignment during assembly) is an issue that can arise with the Subaru range - that does seem a steep price to replace though

Gambit, Jay, Miggs....this is what the
jeez buddy that is some list there but at least it is all fixable. you mentioned a while back that fuel economy was now more of a priority so fixing the sport would be the better long term option, however fixing either, in my mind, means a long term commitment as they will both owe you in outlay. I would have to re read but I seem to remember the possibility of taking some of the good stuff ie brakes from the WRX to fit to the sport so that would help support some of the improvement but that would still leave you with a WRX which needs attention or that will need breaking to recoup some funds or you bite the bullet and just scrap the WRX. what would I do fix the wrx and sell it try and at least break even take anything worth breaking from the sport to sell possibly store it in the empty space from the wrx. then go shopping for a sport in the colour you want etc but without the rust etc of this one

I had 3 ladies from Bari over as my guests to Newcastle upon Tyne - they enjoyed themselves especially when it turned out one of the local restaurant managers came from Bari as well - lots of Amarone consumed that evening ;)

Thats an awesome looking car - Its a shame a country that has made some design greats like Pininfarina puts such a restraint on its people when it comes to cars, I didn't know it was that way - is it the same for motorbikes?
