ok so it looks like the Opie oils site is having some issues at the moment...

1, 5w-40 or 10w-30 check out the opie oils website - they give a discount for S.O.C. members http://www.opieoils.co.uk/product-finder/car/engine-oil/subaru/1997/forester/PETROL/product-finder-2.aspx 2, I use the main box section that runs under the car for my trolley jacking point 3, Ill pass on that one to someone who has owned that model B)

thats it - difference is if it is a recirc valve or not

utterly bonkers that is going to catch a few people out :D

hey it is what it is - I am sure in other areas there is a forrester massif slammin and pimpin their ride who happily acknowledge there Subaru brethren. I do get a lot of befuddled looks though - of 'do I know him, why is he flashing me are my lights on????' :D

I give the headlight flash to other subaru's - impreza's tend to respond but only about 30% legacy's and no forresters so far have responded, but that is more to do with the demographic in them round by me, they appear to be owned by the older country types

this is not going to end well - Im off to busy myself (hide) in the garage :P

Mines an 89 R model - will be putting an old style R6 back end on eventually, its been a long term tweak as you go whilst trying to minimise down time, just put in a 6speed box and reassembled, then partially dissasembled as a coolant seal had failed, fired up last weekend to find a slight oil leak on cam cover - so got to pull the box carbs etc off again to get that sorted. Just picked up my mates 2000 R6 which has a compression problem on No.1 pot so once the FZR is finally finished I have that to investigate.
