  1. I agree they are more to do with greed than any traffic calming - I am all for 20 mph outside schools to be enforced with cameras during the main hours of coming and going sitting on dual carriageways that are not associated with fatalities is just swelling the coffers and I have had one or two cough ahem points in my time associated with speeding, never been dangerous driving or over the limit etc and never in built up urban areas
  2. I upload mine to a hosting site like photobucket then copy and paste the link - it will then show up larger in the thread
  3. Yup that is clean!!
  4. Wotcha and welcome - if you do start further mods dont forget to take photo's I do like a good project thread :)
  5. Wotcha and welcome Paul :)
  6. Wotcha and welcome :)
  7. Found a few stone chips in the bonnet when I was detailing the other week - The paint and lacquer doesnt seem that thick so my plan was to have the whole bonnet done and have a couple of decent coats of lacquer to try and maintain the look once finished. I have seen chips away work before and the colour match was fine - although that was on a Ford It should be said though whilst Im not classed as OCD - when it comes to my cars and bikes I am a little bit on the fussy side ahem and things do bug me if not right
  8. 10k but as Mandy states with the potential for meets etc I can see that going up
  9. looks tidy thats for sure
  10. Wotcha and welcome Sean ;) What model do you have? Would be great to see some photo's of it Jay
  11. A lot of models / cars / bikes would not have come to this country in the first place had it not been demand from grey imports and as they are now not bringing in the new Impreza I see a flourishing grey market opportunity "embarassingly i dont know where the engine temp sensor is, even though ive had the engine out and rebuilt it,ha" - its not still sat on your work bench is it next to the one or two other bolts that I always find are left over after a rebuild?? :D
  12. Result!! :)
  13. Havent swapped on a scooby myself yet, as you change the turbo follow the lines back - getting the replacement parts before hand will give you an idea of exactly how much you are dealing with length wise. Pictures online for the braided hose kit show only a small pipe with banjo bolts so if you can get to the turbo you shouldnt have a problem
  14. No problem buddy - keep us posted on the progress and we do like photo's on here so if you get some stick them in a thread :)
  15. Hi - welcome to the forum. As it is a bearing you may be able to get it rebuilt if you can find someone to take the job on. Considering the price of the Subaru part I would look to replace it with a solid drive shaft and remove the bearing altogether, even if it was made bespoke for you by a local firm it would probably be cheaper as a carbon fibre version for the impreza comes in at $1000 - given that an aluminium one should be less.
  16. You should be able to - contact DVLA
  17. Hi I believe the pump is an intank version - I dont know about how difficult it is to remove the axle on that model though sorry
  18. It annoys me Audi make good looking cars, although they are all looking the same now! Audi were the first car I remember seeing with daytime running lights? I remember seeing volvo's having the side lights on as a daylight running light, used to constantly be flashed by other motorists who thought they had left them on by mistake
  19. H Azz85, not much detail about the car, mileage service history etc but... I would say that is the turbo bearing is going / gone, so will need a rebuild also swap out the oil supply and return lines if you do not know the history of the car as turbo's can fail due to oil starvation as over time if the engine is not cooled sufficiently oil can boil off in the lines going solid / crystallizing and reducing the flow to the bearing less likely is oil coming past the valve seats or if your overall performance has dropped possibly piston rings due to lack of seal and oil being forced past the piston rings - check compression but with piston rings going the engine could start to sound rough
  20. I think unintentionally I lifted the reverse gear block, and went into reverse gear at 90mph, .......yes unfortunately that would do it :o hope it does not impact your social funds too much
  21. Wotcha and welcome :)
  22. Yup agree - those rims are just the touch!
