  1. Wotcha and welcome Craig sounds like you have something that could provide real returns with a little TLC - get a project thread going and we can all follow, lend support etc
  2. looks like you had a ball!! just need a set of these for that offroad lamping chic and your sorted :D
  3. Welcome Chloe - good luck with the sale, sounds like a great car, any chance of some pictures?
  4. The latest cossie imprezas have bilstein shocks with eibach springs, have run konis and eibachs in the past, used daily but it was a firm ride but ok on the lowest damping setting on the highest it was rock but the car did corner like it was on rails
  5. ^^^^ thats true, and a fuse under the bonnet not far from the battery is good to protect the kit
  6. Hey - there you go looking good... You may get some ideas from this thread particularly how a simple grill change and light tints really change the look of the car http://uk.subaruownersclub.com/forums/topic/180-paint-and-clean-up-time/
  7. If you get stuck get the camera out ;)
  8. Had a quick look and you should be able to wire up the whole system including a sub using the jbl gto4000 amp that is in the link you posted. I like JBL kit never had any problems with it good solid sound and JBL - 'Just !Removed! lLud!' 'nuff said The 6x9 speakers you have, from what I have found, are 2 ohms so depending what the rating of the sub is you run the risk of overloading the amp if you choose to bridge in conjunction with the four speakers as it specifies a minimum of 2 ohms per speaker line so if you then bridge the rear connections using the subwoofer it could take it below 2ohms So if it was me I would have that amp doing the four speakers - at 2 ohms that will give you a constant 75w of sound power, with the 937's being able to handle 100w constant that should give a nice sound. Whatever you go for upfront you can go 2 or 4 ohm, 4 ohm will give you slightly less constant power at 50w but you may prefer that if they are closer to you Let us know what the other amp is and I can do some more digging
  9. it depends on the amps you have what are the make and model numbers so I can do a bit of digging..? it shouldn't kill your battery if you are driving about what I found was key to a good install was good cable to supply and a really good earth, even on the head unit the standard little earth wires just meant the head unit ran hot matching the speakers to the amps will help with signal / energy transfer so if you have a selection of 6x9's see what the impedance is, probably 2, 4, or 8 ohms then see what your amps can handle with subs as well as matching to the amps think about how you will mount them - a good ported box with a smaller sub can sound a lot better than a behemoth just bolted to the rear shelf
  10. Wotcha and welcome Scott - looking forward to seeing your purchase
  11. ahhh you are teasing us - could you upload to photobucket or an equivalent as I dont have a faceparty account (I know such a luddite!!!)
  12. Was on another forum and this topic came up apparently part synth is different to semi synth as it is a mixture of fully synth and some semi synth
  13. Looking forward to some pictures we have some members with some really clean examples will be nice to add it to the line up :)
  14. This is Castrols own recommendations Edge fully synth 5W-40 or Magnatec 10W-40 A3/B4 http://www.castrol.com/castrol/sectionbodycopy.do?categoryId=9024084&contentId=7073092 Magnatec 10W-40 A3/B4 is part synth You should have no problems with it - as long as the oil meets the recognised standards like API or JASO etc and is the recommended weight it will be fine
  15. that really sets the front end off - breaks up the silver nicely
  16. Wotcha and welcome Sean - point your man in the direction of the site, would be great to have his opinion as well - also what is his Subaru car of choice?
  17. Had some money spent on it thats for sure - are you tempted??
  18. Wotcha and welcome :) I have just spoken to a very helpful young lady and confirmed they can supply something to make your Scooby a little more distinctive http://www.scoobyworld.co.uk/catalog/index.php?cPath=24_54 don't forget to post some photo's or better yet a before and after video
  19. certainly looking like it will do the job now, no problem at all!
  20. Knew a chap years ago had a bearing collapse on him when he got to Newbury, he continued on to Portsmouth. The bearing welded itself to the hub and we could not get the remains off - in the end he had to replace the hub as well as the bearing
  21. That's it, we can sort out the logistics as and when it is confirmed Convoy!
  22. Wotcha and welcome - there appears to be plenty of room under the bonnet so it would just be a case of sorting the mountings, mind you the reliability may get a little tedious after living with the Alfa ;) you may have to run out of fuel every so often to simulate a breakdown.
  23. Right so the latest from the team is they are going for Easter Bank holiday monday 2014 and will let us know if / when it is confirmed. Doing the Google maps thing and speaking to a chap who attended a VW bash at the same place I would be going via the channel tunnel to Calais then cutting into Belgium
