  1. Wotcha and welcome - like any performance motor, look after it with regular servicing, warm up an cool down cycles etc and it will be reliable.

Your budget will get you a variety of motors, widetrack blobeye sti, nice hawk STI, a sharkeye STI hatch (not quite as focussed a drive as standard but with a different steering rack and some chassis tweaks it sorts it right out) or a very tidy classic - this is a very focussed tool

I suggest you take a drive in each and see which suits your driving style.

  2. A VTA dump valve can make your car run rich as everytime it vents the air to atmosphere to stop back pressure etc. a recirc keeps the air in the system keeping your mixture closer to 1 lambda.

Is this a bad thing  - not necessarily, does it make more noise - yes

choice is yours - or ditch any valve and have some turbo flutter instead - not great for your turbo in the long run but sounds authentically rally

Try scottishscoobies.net they have alot of members up that way around aberdeenshire, i'm in southern scotland and its still a good 3-4 hours away and i'll just be getting up the road from thruxton on tuesday or i would deffo been up for the road trip, hope theres a great turn out for the lad

Are you a member of that forum - if not ill see if I can post it

  4. That is a great start up kit but as @Hudson described - you are missing a clay bar, if this is the first time going for it I would suggest the Meguires clay bar kit, comes with bar and spray, works very well

x2 bucket approach works for me particularly as the rear arches hold a huge amount of crud

  5. With how light your car is - 350 to 400 will be enough for what you describe you can use newage parts and not kill your bank account. If you intend doing a track day, even with you current set up, ensure you have at least a sump baffle in place to stop any oil starvation under hard cornering

  6. Just seen this on facebook - short notice but don't know if any of our local members are available for an hour or so

We are looking for anyone with a fast/loud car to drive past William T Fraser funeral home near Asda, Culduthel road, Inverness on Tuesday the 9th of May and make some noise.

The funeral is for Dylan Kay (15) Who sadly passed away last Saturday. Dylan fought against Leukemia since he was 7 years old and developed sepsis which resulted in his life support being turned off with his family by his side. The family are absolutely heartbroken. He was a loving Son, Brother, Uncle, Grandson, Nephew and Friend. He was my missus little brother and uncle to our 3 kids, he will be missed very much. Dylan was the one of the nicest, bravest and strongest boys I've ever had the pleasure of knowing.

He loved fast cars, so in honour of him we are wanting a line up of as many as possible to go by and give it some noise before his funeral at 12. The plan is to meet at Dows @ 11.15am and drive past shortly after. This would mean a great deal to his family so I'm asking anyone available to help out. Would be very much appreciated. Thanks for reading. Feel free to share
