  4. That's very likely. The engine was warm when he fired it up. On the upside, I've just bought an sti short block with forged Pistons for £400. And it only failed the MOT on a rear ARB link and a cv boot. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Just been told it sounds like a big end bearing has gone on this engine too :(
  6. I haven't, I don't know if ones as old as mine had them? I'm just about to go off for the MOT, I'm genuinely nervous. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. I've clearly been bitten badly by this cleaning bug. I've just caught myself dusting out the heater vents with an old paintbrush... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  10. Just had a go at this car cleaning business... I'm sure practice will make perfect, but I'm quite impressed. Unlike my girlfriend will be when I explain why I'm now late to pick her up from work Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Yeah, the originals are looking a bit tired anyway. Anywhere you'd recommend to get them from? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. The rear's were really quite knackered anyway so I'll probably notice a marked improvement for now anyway Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Just went for the standard ones from ICP in the end... I'll have a look at upgrading all round once my wallet's recovered from the new engine! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. New rear discs and pads fitted ready for Monday's MOT... Fingers crossed!
  15. Haha, I just remembered... Didn't anyone else have to drive through Bell End on the way?!
  16. I'll probably camp too, if nobody minds me turning up at about 11? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. I'll be there 100%!
  18. For those who are interested- this was the cause of my overheating The eagle eyed amongst you may notice that a water pump shouldn't be in 2 pieces. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. It works!! It actually works! :D
  20. I doubt you'd ever find the true number, due to it being an import- a lot get put through as lower spec models, for insurance reasons I'd imagine. But I think it's fairly safe to say you're in the motoring equivalent of rocking horse ****! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Welcome! We had somebody come and ask us about one of these at JapShow...
  22. Does anyone have a preferred/recommended battery for their car? Mine's on the way out and it's a halford's one... Or are they all pretty much the same?
  23. I'll see what's left out of my MOT budget on Monday Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Are we still doing this to try and get another flag? Hopefully I'll be able to be a bit more generous than last time...
  25. I'm pretty easy really... Although somewhere slightly North of the museum is probably best for everyone isn't it? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
