  1. I'd just discovered mine had broken again- I've only done about 100 miles in mine since May :(.
  2. Mine has a SimTek ECU from Bob Rawle- to be honest, the whole mapping/ECU thing is a bit beyond me- but as far as I can figure it out it's the easiest way to go about it (although I may be wrong). Turbo upgrade has been done, but I think you need some seriously deep pockets- you have to change various parts of the exhaust to get the exhaust gas flowing better to spoil them up properly as well as work to various valves and solenoids in the car. As stants suggested, a single turbo conversion could be the way forward.
  3. No, I spent a good half an hour pointing out the Subarus in the car park when we went Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Yeah, that's the sort of thing. I don't know if it's possible, you'd have to find a way of blanking off the oil feed etc for the turbo. Whether valve and piston clearance would be an issue is something you'd have to research. Someone asked a very similar question about improving their Impreza yesterday and somebody suggested more aggressive cams- this might be an easier option. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Welcome to the club. Getting the engine breathing better (performance air filter, less restrictive exhaust) should gain you a little pit of power. Personally, I'd say sorting out the handling is a better way to spend your money, having more confidence in your braking and steering will make the car feel much faster. 6. It depends how much you want to spend really. Maybe a port and polish of your heads would gain you something? I wouldn't say there's any point in having forged rods and Pistons etc put in. Could be a good idea to get the block apart completely and put some ACL (or something similar) bearings in the bottom end- it's one less thing to worry about in the future. I've been looking into parallel fuel set ups- can be made with your existing rails or you can buy shiny bits that bolt on instead. It's also a good chance to get everything cleaned up and looking pretty again- painting your inlet manifold and rocker covers, stuff like that? Speaking of rocker covers- get proper Subaru gaskets, they're not that much more expensive and will save you having to have the job done again! Hope this helps/makes sense! Best of luck Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Depends how quickly you want it to go and who is looking for one at the time. If it's got a good service history and the body work is good, you can get £2-2.5k easily Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. It wasn't too bad, I'm just hoping the weather holds tomorrow so I can get it running again Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Finished for today now with the engine sat in place, just a case of connecting everything up now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Came on Friday to this... So this morning I got the engine out Now the turbos are on ready to drop it back in... Plus I'm now all rubbered up. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Did you get mine Gambit? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Import please :) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Yeah, I'll take a set. I'll pick them up from you at the show if that's easier? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Couple more guys in UKLegacy want a pass if there are any left? And how much are the plates again Alex?
  15. [quote name="savage bulldogs" post="101990" timestamp=" I'll definitely make more of a effort next show season as I'll hopefully have the bodywork tidied up a bit by then I didn't think it could get any cleaner as it is!
  16. Sorry to hear it couldn't be sorted- just had a similarish experience with my girlfriend's car (which incidentally she bought from a garage, so you're still not always safe). 10 months down the line when I actually got round to doing some work to it and discovered its rotten as a pear. If my numbers come up in the euromillions I'll keep you in mind!
  17. Would filling it up with petrol and leaving it for a day or 2 work? Then change to fresh?
  18. Welcome to the club :). I assume when you say gear oil, you mean the diff oil too? If not, that's worth doing. When your timing belt is done, in my opinion, you may as well get the water pump changed. Idle air control valve might be worth looking at, may a bit sticky and need a clean or just adjusting slightly. Simple enough to do, warm the car up, undo the two screws on top of it and it will twist slightly, one way will turn the idle up, the other down. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/391246677514?_mwBanner=1 This the sort of thing you're after?
  20. Was planning on getting some more bits taken off the old engine, but the weather disagreed. So I dug out my spare inlet and started getting it ready to paint... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Have you tried putting your keys in the ignition once the alarm starts sounding? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Had these arrive today! Plus the engine is pretty much together. Hopefully the weekend will be productive and I'll get a near running car! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Oh, I see. I'll have a play about and see what I can get... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. The ones you had before are good, just seeing if I can drum up a few more local members really. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. Yeah, those are what I'm on about. Any chance we could get some more made? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
