Wanted: Forge or Turbosmart Dual port
Depens what fin has been fitted. I believe they do three typres which change the frequency. Purple is for the loud squeek, black (which you get with it) has a slight woosh with a mild squeek and then gold which is a low swoosh sound. If you want the pppssstttt sound dont get HKS! ha ha

Recirc/BOV Valves
I dont think the snobbish attitude is just with Subaru owners, as I have similar issues with Imp owners just because i have highly modified mine. I guess its "each to their own" and if it makes you happy then so what! Main reason i am going for the HKS is I have owned one on a previous car (not a scoob) and it was perfect.

Recirc/BOV Valves
I was advised on the weekend that this is just a myth that all dump valves causes Subaru's to run poor. It appears its just certain brands and I was advised to get either a Baileys or HKS SSQV.

Wanted: Forge or Turbosmart Dual port
If I was you I would also look for a HKS SSQ with gold fin insert (quieter) as Subaru4You informed me at the weekend that they have never had issues with these and dont need a remap. Good Luck!!

Peeps Car History!
Did you have the Type R GT? Mine was *Censored*! Spent most of the time at Honda. First issue was the side "Type R" decals were put on a dirty car so they came unstuck after a few days, then the rear camber was out which was causing some lets say interesting driving, then the fuse box got replaced not once but three times!!! Lost a fortune on that car!!

Cosworth Panel Filter Review - 08 WRX
My first modification on any car I have owned is to bin the paper air filter element and replace for a more "manly" cotton/foam filter. I have used most brands in my previous cars (Green, K&N, Pipercross, Powertech, HKS) so when I browsed one of the online Subaru shops and I came across Cosworth I instantly snapped one up. The review on the Cosworth page looked promising "Cosworth High Flow Synthetic Air Filters are constructed from a proprietary synthetic, non-woven single layer, pleated polyester filter media that requires no oiling. For an OE-like fit, the filter housing is injection moulded from high impact polystyrene or polypropylene. Each Cosworth air filter has been engineered to fit the vehicles original air box providing a true cold air supply to the engine. Cosworth Performance Air Filters also provide increased air flow when compared to original equipment air filters. Improved performance Superior filtration Exceptional dust holding capacity Reduced restriction (10%+ compared to OE filters) Over 98% efficiency (ISO5011:200 Fine Dust Test)" When it arrived it looked very similar to the original however instantly you could tell the quality was far superior to the OEM version. So over the weekend I popped into Subaru4you in Newbury for the cars 60k service and I got them to fit the new Cosworth panel filter. Len advised that these are pretty good filters and prefer these over the induction kits. So whats it like you must be saying now??.... Well what an improvement!!! The car feels to pick up alot quicker and doesnt seem to be as hesitant in higher gears. The acceleration seems so much smoother and feels like it has increased some performance (unable to state 100% fact as didnt do rolling road). I would recommend getting one of these filters for your car as for £35 it really is a no brainer! The only downside over an "oiled" version is that they need replacing every 30k miles like the OEM but for £35 who cares!!!

Warranty Advice Needed (Non Car)
Update.... After a short email exchange with Currys, they have done the decent thing and they have agreed to collect the TV and assess at my cost £95 and if its found to be faulty (which i know it is) they will refund me my £95 and fix at no extra cost! I am worried thought that this fault is the tip of the ice berg and i am wondering if i should buy a new one and use this in my office...

Recirc/BOV Valves

Recirc/BOV Valves
I know that the Impreza's run poorly with a atmospheric dump valve (HKS SSQ for example), however has anyone upgraded to an aftermarket recirculation valve? If so did the car run ok and what brand did you go for? I am intending on increasing the performance on my WRX (Cat-back exhaust, remap and potentially Cobb induction kit). Thanks Tim

Warranty Advice Needed (Non Car)
I am after some advice really as Google hasjust confused me even more so.... I brought an LG television back in October 2013 and it has now started to become faulty. The optical and HDMI outputs are not working which is making viewing something almost impossible. I have looked at the warranty given by Currys and LG are only 12 months (labour and parts) which would mean that I would have to pay for someone to come out and repair it. I have looked at The Sales of Goods Act and that only states that “Goods must be of ‘Satisfactory quality, As Described, Fit for purpose And last a Reasonable length of Time’. Therefore if my television has only lasted 18 months and I paid £849 for it then surely it should have a long life ... more than 12 months and I should get it replaced/repaired at no extra cost. I need advice on what to do as i am expecting LG/Currys to charge me! Thanks Tim

Identifying Impreza Code (GH/GRB etc)
Thanks big help!!

Identifying Impreza Code (GH/GRB etc)
How can I find out what "code" my Impreza is? I have been looking on eBay and there seems to be numerous codes for Impreza hatchbacks. Back in the day it was easy EP82 was the start of the chassis code on a Mk1 Starlet GTT so they were knicknamed EP82's however my chassis code doesnt appear to be either GH or GRB. I want to make sure i order the right parts so can anyone help???
