  1. Thank you, I will take a look tomorrow as I am pretty sure I plugged them in as above unless I plugged it into the incorrect port 🙂
  2. Think the only did the WR blue in the US and Japan
  3. I will check the website tomorrow 🙂 If you could that would be great. My mic and aux were both separate cables.
  4. I have the aux and mic plugged into the back of the new unit.
  5. May have to get in contact then. It seemed to work with my old unit but the new one no luck. There was two cables off the back of the old unit that the new one did not have. Could it be one of those? Or are the steering wheel controls part of the loom?
  6. Me too, this is actually satin black so it has a bit more of a shine to it compared to matte. Yeah it was not fun doing that part at all 😆
  7. So I bought a new head unit and fitted it on christmas eve. It wasn't to bad to install although I did cut my hands a lot trying to connect up the parking brake cable. Car play works really well on it too. The only issue that I have found with it so far is that I cannot seem to get the steering wheel controls to work. If anyone has any idea what I need to do for that it would be great 🙂
  8. Hopefully that will make it sound a lot better. I got a muffler delete when I first got mine as it was way too quiet, but will being going for a full upgrade this year. In regards to head unit I replaced my on xmas eve with a pioneer SPH-DA230DAB. I went with that one as it had apple car play. Liking it so far.
  9. So after many hours of work wrapping the car in the evening and many late nights the car is finally complete. It turned out surprising well but it isn't 100% perfect (not that it is possible for it to be in the first place). There are still a couple bits to wrap to properly finish it but I am happy with it right now. Next part to wrap is the front grille and the spoiler. I also repainted the front lower grille in black as it had a lot of stone chips in. I need to reinstall that later today.
  10. Thank you for the advice. I will give it a go and if I have any issues I will post more in here 🙂
  11. That the part with all the coloured wires?
  12. Welcome back and great choice of car. I have a 2011 one and like you I also love this shape. You don't tend to see many of this shape around (well from my experience). What plans have you got for it?
  13. Here is a photo of the existing unit. It is a pioneer AVIC-F320BT. I have also attached a photo of the back if that helps?
  14. Thank you 🙂 I am based in the west midlands if that's close? Also does anyone know anything about replacing head units? My car came with a pioneer head unit but I want to replace it with a new pioneer one (apple car play). Does anyone know if it is a direct swap?
  15. Also this weekend I spent a lot of time and very late nights trying to get as much of the wrapping done as I could. I would say we are about 85% complete now. I have added some pictures below: The whole wrapping project started due so someone scratching my car in the work car park. I was sure how well it would cover the scratch but it worked really well. Before and after below:
  16. So on Friday after work I went and got my tyres put onto the new wheels and then fitted them. This means the old wheels are now for sale and I have put them on ebay: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/143893139093 I really like the look of the new wheels but the car now needs lowering to make it look a lot better.
  17. New black fender garnishes arrived this week. Wrapped the below panel on both sides and installed new fender garnishes 🙂
  18. That's the plan 🙂 hoping to get some more panels done tonight and then again over the weekend. Got a few other bits I want to get done over the next couple of months too, so there should be plenty of updates.
  19. Some parts can be quite difficult (front bumper) but if you are careful and patient it isn't too bad. Hopefully it won't take me too much longer to get it finished but I will keep this updated with progress 🙂
  20. Finally opened the boxes to take a look at the wheels. They look so good. Can't wait to get them fitted now.
  21. New wheels have now arrived...
  22. Hi All, A few months ago I ask for some advice in regards to fixing a scratch on my car when someone at work had hit it. I was torn between getting the panel painted or doing something I've wanted to learn for a while. I decided that I was going to learn to wrap my car. I also have a plans to do a lot of other work over the next few months so it can be ready to enjoy next summer. I have decided to start a build thread so anyone interested can see the progress 🙂 I have made a start on wrapping the car. It will probably take me a few weekends to get it completed in and around work. I have added a few photos of the progress made so far:
  23. That's a good idea. I will make sure to do that 🙂
  24. Okay thank you. I will try and get a few quotes and see what sort of prices come back.
  25. Hi All, A couple of weeks back my car got hit in my work car park and the other car has left a mark down the side. I was going to get just this part fixed but I noticed that I had a few other imperfections and marks. My question is how much would a full car respray cost roughly on a 2011 WRX STI and does anyone have any recommendations on who to go with? Another option I was looking at was wrapping the car myself (as it is something that I want to learn). Any advice would be appreciated.
