  1. Hi All, It's been a while since I last posted on here. I'm looking for some advice and hoping you guys can help. I currently have a 2011 WRX STI but I am considering getting a cheap car to use a project car/A car to restore. The question is do I leave my current car as is (lightly modded) and get maybe a GC8 or other car as a project car. The other option is do I use the money to turn my 2011 STI into a really nice street car with some decent upgrades? Any suggestions and ideas are appreciated.
  2. Thank you, I wasn't sure if I would prefer it to the satin black but I think it beats it 🙂
  3. Hi All, The build has been quiet for a while until last week. I finally had time to get the car wrapped in its new colour and I am so happy with how it has turned out. It is not completely done just yet as I need to finish the side skirts and install the full HT Autos lip kit. Here are some pictures of it so far. I will add some more once I have the last bits done and the kit installed 🙂
  4. So the new colour has finally arrived. Now to find the time to wrap it 🙂
  5. So I now have the car back after repairs. They have done a great job getting the damage out. Now to decide on a new colour...
  6. Hi Rob, I also have a 2011 STI. I used godspeed brakes when I needed mine updated. I have linked below to your model car so you can take a look: https://www.godspeedbrakes.co.uk/191-impreza-2008-onwards-sti They do some package deals if you need discs and pads.
  7. Not sure tbh. I'm opening the door just enough to get in so it doesn't scrape too bad. It gets collected on Monday to be fixed. Should be covered by the other persons insurance.
  8. So I have had more bad luck. Someone reversed into me while I was queuing to leave tesco on Saturday 😞 My door and fender keep scraping of each other when I open the door to get in and out.
  9. Yeah I get that. Got nothing against those cars, in fact some are very nice. But it is just a shame. I guess loud, fun cars arent for everyone lol 🙂
  10. Not a fan that they are going down the auto and non turbo car route. It will be sad seeing the US and Japan getting new models and us getting nothing over here.
  11. It does seem that way. Yeah it is quite sad. They are not releasing STI's over here now are they?
  12. I agree, especially when they did WR blue for the US and Japan.
  13. I do think a nice blue would look good on my shape tbf. Especially as we didn't even get a WR blue for the 11 - 14 STI in the UK. There's too many colour options to choose from
  14. Is that the darker, more navy colour blue?
  15. There are so many colours I think would look good, including he satin black. Maybe I need more cars lol 🙂
  16. So, there hasn't been much to update recently. I did get a new replacement wheel so I am back on the road. More upgrades to come soon though. Did manage to get out for a shoot with my friend yesterday. I have added some of the photos below: I am tempted to wrap the car again already too. Not sure whether I want keep the satin black (which I do love) or try midnight purple. What do you guys think?
  17. I will have to have a look into different options now. I'd rather use it for something and not waste it.
  18. If it was a 12 spoke wheel that would be ideal but it is only 10. Table is a very good shout. Replacement wheel ordered. Luckily they still had 2 of my model and spec in the UK.
  19. Had an update from my friend who is a mechanic and a few repair places and they have said that the wheel should be replaced and not fixed. I will have to order a new one. Any creative ideas on what I can use the old one for?
  20. Nightmare is how I would describe it too 😞 Yeah it was and what's worse is there was nothing I could do. I think I'd have been less annoyed if it had happened by me doing something stupid, because then it was my own fault.
  21. I think it is just dirt but I will double check later. It looks like just the lip area that's damaged. Not sure if it is repairable or not? Yeah I will check suspension as soon as I can, hoping it isn't too bad though.
  22. So I hit a patch of ice under the snow as I came out my street this morning 😞 So frustrating that this has happened, not sure if it is worth repairing or replacing? Looks like it could be cracked. Not sure if there is any suspension damage or not yet.

    Help

TDR is who fixed the issue for me. The blanking plates are good although I have just left the pump in place for now and had it mapped out, so the plates aren't priority. The only reason I can think why they might say it can't be mapped is if the ECU is not tunable maybe? I don't know very much about tuning sorry. But as Jay said ring a few specialists up and I am sure they will be able to point you in the right direction. If not there are loads of breakers on ebay so you may be able to pick up a used one cheap?

    Help

Yes that's the secondary air pump as I thought it would be. It seems to be a fairly common issue. Replacements can be expensive and even used ones can be pricey. When I had this I got it mapped out. It's a lot cheaper and you don't have to worry about it again after that.

    Help

Looks to me like the secondary air pump. If you have a more zoomed out picture it would be easier to confirm. If it has failed then the engine management light would appear until you either get it replaced or mapped out.
