Yes popped the old one in. bench tested the other both work great so put it all back together. I would of thought the alarm would cut all the power but don't know enough about them. It's strange to say the least. When the engine is cranking I only get one volt at the pump. The relay is cycling 12volts so that works. Really stumped on this one
Haha that actually cheered me up a bit lol.
Been working on it most of the day the relay is switching correctly even changed it in case it didn't like the load that the pump puts on it.
So I was having a great day then the old girl decides with no warning not to start to cap it off I had to be toed home by a Civic!! The embarrassment 😖 .
MBut on a serious note my fuel pumps only getting 1volt I'm scratching my head, any ideas?
Rusty exhausts are the worst part of any car would hate to change mine it's probably been there 20years (lots of cutting bolts off)
i know eBay has new studs if you need them. I've spent many a late night doing a five minute job 😅
Had a great day meeting everyone . 😊 10/10 would recommend to a friend 😂
it was really good to have a drive in the old rusty girl as I only do about 4 miles a day and she managed over 250 miles with no hesitation. Just hope my old banger didn't show the stand up too much. Thanks to everyone that came.
'Drivers side is the tighter side' sure about that buddy 😉 .
Anyway good luck I really like seeing people keeping these classics going strong they're such an iconic car my favourite imprezas 😄
You can change rocker cover gaskets from the to no need to jack it up. But you will probably need to jack the engine a little because the are very tight to the rails. Just a quick tip. 😊
Yes hand tighten 😊
If you tighten it too much there very annoying to remove. You should be able to unscrew the old by hand if you can't just hammer a screwdriver in and use it to turn it. Alternatively buy a filter tool/strap. But don't use it to put the new one on.
Respraying my bonnet what the car to look good for the 31st 😊
Only problem is my helper won't get out my car and I was going to vacuum it to keep the girlfriend happy 😂
Oil change is very easy 10min job. Plugs 30 min job a lot of stuff needs to be move there are how to guides on the forum all scoobies are very similar and the steps won't vary much between models.
There is a very good how check your ECU in the how to section on the forum made by gambit give it a look. Stuttering and lumpy running and cut on on full throttle generally is fuel a fuel problem. That's not say I couldn't be a eclectic fault causing it.
My scoobies fuel seized causing a similar issue. My sister Evo had a similar problem and that was a bad earth for the pump. Run a ecu check then use a multimeter to make sure the pump is getting the right power. Pretty sure Subaru pumps run flat out the whole time the engine is running so it needs good strong supply.
good luck
Agreed mate. I stuck one in mine just because if it goes pop I have the tools and ability to pop a new engine in. But would recommend a professional remap.
I think the z4 runs 380 injectors not 440 savage.
Your right savage it's not worth playing the lottery with your engine. I'm still trying to find an apexi ecu it's the one I really want plus my turbo is apexi also 😊.
But to answer the initial question z4 is a fairly 'safe' swap. But not worth it in the long run.
