  1. MOT passed with no advisories. Happy days
  2. Hi all Well yesterday I finished work, walked back to car an noticed I had a massive crack across the windscreen that wasn't there when I parked her up. Just waiting on insurance to sort it out, hopefully in time for its mot on Friday. Now I think it could have been a week screen and the heat from yesterday caused it, but........... so my wife and I are now looking at getting a dash cam or 2. Ideally I'd like a front and rear camera and more importantly I'd like it to work while car is parked and unattended without it draining the cars battery. Is this possible? I've seen many with sensors for this very thing, do they work? Can they be set to just record without motion to start them? Am I asking too much? And prices seem to range from £10-£200+, am I better of spending a bit or are cheaper ones just as good? An recommendations please. Many thanks
  3. Wrong thing to ask here lol. You'll love one, very addictive. That sort of money would get you a nice blob sti. Good luck in your search
  4. Hehe that'll teach me to skim read [emoji4]
  5. No mate lol. 1 bucket with your shampoo mixture. The second bucket with clean water to clean your sponge before dipping in soapy water again. Keeps the dirt in one place. Never put dirty sponge in soapy water.
  6. Where is this mr b from then?
  7. Just posted on your other thread.
  8. I'm on the Devon/Dorset border, would be happy to meet a few of us south westerners if we can get a few. I think there is another new (ish) member from Tiverton area. Let me know if you get something sorted. But I am an old guy lol
  9. Would it connect to an iPad? Any suggestions?
  10. You could try Andy forest (think that's his name) based in Edinburgh as far as I know. Some say he's the best in the country.
  11. Think you miss read tidgy, kershaw says £1000 for turbo back. £600 for ecutek map. Punctuation would've helped lol
  12. Nice looking car. Where about dare you? There are a few good mappers out there, just depends how far you want to travel.
  13. I once read somewhere (could've been on here) that for you to see any gain from having a diesel over a petrol, you need to be doing at least 18,000 miles a year. Not sure how accurate that is, but when you see the small price difference between the 2 fuels, and a clever bit of driving, I can see it's not far out. Even with a WRX/STI. Only more temptation to use the right foot. I did have a 2L n/a impreza and I could get quite good mpg. Just food for thought.
  14. Plenty of companies around, but at as guess the price would be very similar. What car do you have?
  15. It was £200 to take gearbox out and then put back in, gearbox was sent off reconditioned and sent back for £595. Not too bad, just wish it hadn't needed to be done. But what a difference. I think most of my box was as good as new except the tail-shaft bearing that was replaced. If yours needs more then price could go up. I did think about getting a secondhand one, but I think the cost reflects that and I now have a 'good as new' gearbox.
  16. I just had a similar sound with mine that disappeared out of gear. I had my gearbox reconditioned and it turned out to be the tail shaft bearing. Hope yours is a simple and cheap fix, but does sound like a bearing of some type.
  17. Got her back. What a difference. Can actually hear the scooby sounds. Amazing how loud the bearing actually was.
  18. Gearbox reconditioned, hope to collect Saturday. As long as it arrives back tomorrow. It had a tail shaft bearing fail. Can't wait to get her back.
  19. Nice one thanks stants, got s couple years left on mine then.
  20. Hi all just wondering when the intervals for change timing belt are. My car is a 2005 blob at 285bhp Thanks
  21. 3 days without my car and I miss her [emoji22]
  22. Nope iOS I'm afraid. Scooby world do a wireless odb connector, but it's £125.
  23. As title, has anyone done this successfully? If so, what have you used? Thanks
  24. Price quotes for taking it out and putting back in £200. I've had that same price from a few places. Recon the gearbox, depends what needs doing to it. Could be £300 could be £900. Then factor in a new clutch if needed and I think I'm looking at £1500, I did think of a 6 speed conversion, but you could easily double that. This way I'll have a nearly new gearbox. So happy days
  25. Just dropped her off, and they confirmed my suspicion. A bearing in the gearbox. He said it doesn't seem to bad. The tell tell sign was a bit of black on base of plastic on the gearbox dip stick and the smell of the oil. Hope that helps anyone else trying to diagnose similar problem. So I'm having the gearbox sent of for a full refurb. Having clutch checked and replaced if needed. Couple weeks and she'll be back on the road to terrorise the holiday makers lol
