  1. Had another quick look a still can't see anything. Managed to get the inspection panel of for fuel pump without removing the seats, and all is very dry under there. But while car was running it did seem a bit 'rich' of fuel from the back end. More from the fuel pump side of the car?? Could the fuel pump be causing this??
  2. I found a garage sale thread, it was a rad cover. Where's this alt cover lol??
  3. Don't worry, found it
  4. You haven't got a link to it savage?
  5. Hi all Yesterday it look as though my fuel was depleting quicker than normal, so today I kept my eye on it and I did about 10-12 miles and used nearly 1/4 of a tank. This seem more than usual to me. I've had a quick look and can't smell any fuel while car is running or not. Put the back end on some ramp, had car running, still can smell or see any thing (but it has rained so inside is wet) the only thing I noticed was the fuel pump was 'whistling', is this normal? Just wanted some advice before I take the back seats out and see if there is a leak there. Car is a 2005 WRX and seem to be running fine. No power loss. It have been remapped to 285bhp and I haven't changed fuel pump. Could I have just pushed the pump too much? Thanks in advance
  6. Thanks for the info. Yes rad cover and alt cover will be on the list. Did you get the rad stay direct from Mischimoto?
  7. Hi all, well my shopping list is getting bigger. I'm looking at various part to make the engine bay look a bit better. It's standard except some prodrive intercooler blue hoses, tbh you can't really see them unless you are looking. I have various things that I would like to do, ally header tank, ally rad, coloured hoses etc. Which leads me to the coolant hoses, looking at many of your bays and the biggest visual impact is these hoses, so I think this will be my first thing to do. I've had a look about at the various colours, my car is silver, so what colour hoses? Red or blue? I think I prefer the blue, but I don't want to be a copy cat lol. What do you all think? And I've seen many sets ranging in price from £35 - £100, what price should I expect to pay? Any other ideas please, they will be gratefully received. Many thanks Jeff
  8. Gave mine a good clean today. Then a quick trip to the local harbour for a burger and chips. Was getting dark when pic was taken. And my wife has agreed that the wheels need painting, and has given me the green light, happy days. Only I still can't decide what colour
  9. Is there a good app and reader for the iPhone/iPad?
  10. All sounds about right. I had mine mapped at the same place. They never called it 'stage 1' or 'stage 2'. Yes you can get the parts yourself, and yes you could get a cheaper turbo or maybe a secondhand one, but why risk it?? Injectors are around £500, fuel pump £150 ish, so £2500 sounds about right. I've been thinking about doing all this myself (my WRX was mapped to 285) but I wondered if the extra 30 or so bhp was worth the extra cost and the extra strain on the gearbox. Real world 0-60, might gain half a second, if lucky (imo). So I will stick to what it is and hope that the car stays reliable. TBH if I start chasing 350+ bhp then I think I'll trade in and get an sti.
  11. No speed cameras
  12. When petrol was priced per gallon not litres!!
  13. Maybe the power steering belt? Check and see how much play it has
  14. Maybe you could track the mot test number, might give you an area of where the car might be. Or give the garage a call.
  15. I think some of you are missing the OP's point! He's 14, the way car insurance is heading for young drivers I guess it would be 10+ years before he could have a turbo on the road. I personal loved my NA and those figures are not bad. I've owned slower. So I say give it OP a break, an NA car is a good place if he wishes to strip the engine learn about it and rebuild it. Wish I had done that at 14 years old.
  16. Every days a school day.
  17. Old school check for head gasket gone is white/creamy sludge on the oil filler cap/dip stick. But there might be another way
  18. Old thread, but one quick question, if I decided to change to 3" cat back, I assume that it would fit into the standard 2.5" cat?
  19. I've just spoke to the guy and he said in Facebook just search findmyoldcar.com and it should come up. He said it's a community based thing, so could take a while before someone sees it. Hope it help you find the car. Good luck
