  1. True. What's the BP stuff like? Few BP's fairly local to me...no Tesco's that I'm aware of, and nearest Shell is about 7mi
  2. Glad you got the email haha. Got any STi floor mats as well? 😬
  3. For sure. The UK has quality fuel though, and the ECU should automatically compensate for it if I've read that right. For sure obviously 99 is the best, but if the situation arises (like my little fiasco with my excitement forgetting to fill up! Haha) I don't think it'll do too much harm to put in the super Unleaded 97.
  4. Exactly. And I would assume as most US owners would put 93 Octane in their cars (which is 97 octane here in the UK), then it should be completely fine for us to use super unleaded (which again, is the 97 octane). 😊👍🏻
  5. Yes mate, I know it is. 93 RON in the US is made with the AKI and MON. Therefore IS 93 is UK 97.4 aka Super Unleaded. Here's a conversion chart that uses the formula's: http://www.pencilgeek.org/2009/05/octane-rating-conversions.html Plus the ECU should in theory read and compensate for the different octanes by retarding the timing and lowering the maximum boost output, even if it is slightly worse. Sticker on fuel cap says use Super Unleaded only. Like I said, seems to be running like a champ at the moment. Obviously if available and near by I'll put the 99 octane in...
  6. Aye, I will do, just I was desperate at the time. First garage I went to didn't even have 97...
  7. They do have a different tune. Same exact engine as the Type UK, but the UK is 20hp less than the USDM versions. If USDM can run on 93 US (which is like 97 UK) I would assume the UK can run fine as well? Why? It's running fine on the "Super Unleaded" from Sainsbury's?
  8. Yeah, obviously makes sense. Pretty sure 97 octane will be fine as that's what 93 octane is in the US and I'm pretty sure all the US guys use that and not "race fuel" (97 octane from the pump, very difficult to find at garages).
  9. Just got my 06 STi...£63 to fill up from very low down into the fuel light (nearly ran out on way home! He forgot to put some in and in my excitement I forgot to stop and put it in! Used Sainsbury's Super Unleaded (97?) which should be ok...I hope? Only managed to get 55L in it. I don't have a Shell local to me (would be massively out of the way to go to it) or a Tesco's nearby either. Haven't noticed any issues yet, got on it twice yesterday for a short burst and lost about 1/8th of a tank...20miles in...my wife's gunna kill me 😂
  10. Also maybe the fog light covers for a STi?
  11. I remembered seeing this floating around...might be of some help? http://www.gearhack.com/myink/ViewPage.php?file=docs/Subaru Transmission Chart
  12. Makes sense. That would depend on which transmission and engine you have as Tidgy just said. From what I understand, the blob JDM DCCD has shorter ratios in 5th and 6th than a blob UK DCCD. All down to the gearing and the engine like Tidgy said, 2L JDM needs longer ratios because it revs higher than UK, which has shorter ratios. Right?
  13. Ah, gotcha. I've got a lot to learn about the Subaru world. Makes sense. I prefer the 6 speed as well, although I would of thought the 5 would have better ratios. In saying that my hawk goes through the gears pretty damn quick I must say. Pretty clued up on older EG/EK Honda's though if anyone ever needs help 😂 Oh aye, if you can! Been wanting to make a lamp out of one for my smoking shed (cigars!) but am having trouble finding blown ones! Haha yeah that make me laugh too 😂
  14. I got sucked into reading it from start to finish as well haha! Put a follow on it. Looks a mint build. Wish my wife understood...she thinks I'm going through a mid life crisis...I'm only 27! I've just always loved me cars! 😂 Keeps saying I'm never just happy with what I've got 😒 Where's the fun in that! 😉 Where are you sitting now then? Did I read you're going to put a hawk DCCD in? Car looks nice though, shame about all the engine issues though. Bet it cost a few pennies! P.s if you're old turbo is gone completely and can't be rebuilt I'll gladly take it if your hands instead of throwing it in the wheelie bin!
  15. Haha mint. Keep the next blown one for me! For my cigar smoking shed! 😉😊
  16. Ugh for real mate? Check this out. My mate made it and I want to try making one or two!
  17. Hey everyone, just curious as to if anyone has any completely blown turbos that are scrap they don't want or need anymore. Can pickup if fairly local to Newcastle or can pay for the shipping. Want to try making a little desktop piece out of one 😊
  18. Might sound odd, but do you have by any chance one of the little switches? Car I'm looking at has a flip switch and I'm not a huge fan of it. Would prefer a stock button (with a light?) if it's possible...I have no idea if it'll even work...
  19. How much for the double din unit and this is going to sound odd, but also the I/C water spray button (unless you know if you can get blank ones? Car I'm looking at has a switch and I hate it...)
  20. I might be interest in those deflectors if you'll ship and I get this STi next weekend...
  21. Really nice looking mate. Tasteful and elegant. This is what I want!
