  1. Yea that's expensive. I bought my imported 06 widetrack STi for £8.5k with 81k on the clock.
  2. Makes sense. I had about £5-6k roughly in my head spent to rebuild engine and upgrade turbo and a front mount, that's with no labour though as I'd do it myself (aside from machine work etc.) Figured it'd be able to hit 450ish easily and reliable. Didn't think about ECU though. I've got a few bits and bobs, like the APEXI AVCR and a Sard FPR already. Probably would pick up things like the decat off forums etc. as I wouldn't be bothered about those being new. All future plans mind. Happy enough running stock for time being. Was hoping to spend about £10k and get a full respray done as well (including engine bay while it was out). My God you sound like a Yank with that "no replacement for displacement" statement! Haha! Of course there is...massive turbos and power to weight ratio goes a long way! Never forget my mate who had a hawk STi with a FP Green on it (supporting mods, front mount and that's about it really) Stateside that raced a hillbilly with a V8 Camero. V8 boy thought it was the best thing ever because he had a K&N filter and straight pipes (obviously this adds like 100hp to his LS1 engine which is the best engine ever). Put $500 on the race because there was no way a little 4 banger could keep up with a V8, needless to say, the Subaru walked all over him and the V8 kid couldn't believe it. Asked my mate what his car was running on and he just said "hopes and dreams and tears of people like you" hahaha
  3. Yep. How much £ you talking roughly to hit 550whp? I mean 450 you could technically do (unreliably obviously) on a stock engine with just a front mount and bigger turbo yeah? Does anyone know what the standard STi hawk gearbox is able to hold (safely) without changing syncros etc.
  4. Not surprised. Bargain really.
  5. You shouldn't experience any with a stage 1. Usually they grab a bit harder from 3 upwards. 2 would maybe a little as well.
  6. HKS or KW would be my guess.
  7. Tell me about it. Hope everything comes alright though, because if it does that would be amazing! I'd gladly have it eventually though for a build base (well...maybe. I'd want to use my block to keep numbers haha)
  8. Dang not a bad price. Id be tempted to pick it up just to have in case I need it later (specifically the rear)
  9. Think I'm on route for a new record 120mi on half a tank so far...mind I've barely hit boost until yesterday.
  10. Another little boring change to the car. Bit cash strapped at the moment unfortunately so extras are going to have to wait a bit longer... anyways just changed the background on the Pioneer. Not sure which I like the best yet, but running with the STI logo for now.
  11. £5? Haha. I'd be tempted if I had the spare cash. Just got some bad news this week unfortunately so no spare cash for the car for a bit.
  12. Sorry, yeah check the manual. You can change a few bits about, but I wouldn't mess too much with it if it's been tuned. Unless your B setting hasn't been touched? You could mess about with B and use A setting as what it's set to. Mines running stock at the moment, but that's what I did to play with it.
  13. What are you trying to do exactly? Are you stock?
  14. In saying that, maybe I should redo them in white? Could do everything white except the gauge cluster? Would solve the DEFI issue...pics of white Pioneer and red Pioneer...opinions?
  15. Heads up, hawkeye involves soldering. I just did the key ring and ash tray today though. Fairly easy. They're T5 size, highly recommend getting the wedge style (flat ones) without domes as I had to cut the dome away on the key ring one to fit it in. Still easy though. 😊
  16. Did the key ring. Easy! Also did the lighter next to the ash tray. 😊
  17. Nothing major to post, everything running good (knock on wood). Changed my key ring from the OEM green to red and also the lighter bit from green to red as well. I'll post a how to in the how to section, dead easy and looks nice to match the rest of the speedo. Just need to do the climate controls now, which I hear involves soldering...and maybe sharpie colour in the DEFI's when I get really brave.
  18. Also has anyone ever done the key ring colour change? Thinking about trying it...except everywhere I look the pictures on how to do it are gone
  19. So want to change my green climate change to red. Apparently involves soldering etc. anyone done this before? Anyone with experience want to do mine? I'll pay for shipping and time etc.
  20. Hawks have 2.5...unless JDM? from what I'm aware?
  21. I have a 06 and my tax is £250 or whatever for the year. As long as it's registered before the March date which mine was...just...
  22. I'd assume it would fit fine...the problem you MAY run into, would be the ECU. If you're buying a complete swap then it's no problem as it comes with a ECU. At least, that's from previous knowledge with Honda's. I assume Subaru's are the same...
  23. 2L compared to 2.5? I usually get around 220ish normal driving. I'm putting it down to cold weather burning the fuel a bit quicker and also letting the car warm up for a few minutes on these cold mornings (was -3 here in Newcastle this morning!)
  24. About average...
