  1. There's a blue hawk on the bay at the mo for breaking the front ends had it though
  2. Or pull the relay is what I've done previously, still always loads of fuel in the lines that Leaks all over
  3. Never got chance to speak to rcm before Christmas, some tuners say putting an uprated pump on the earlier cars messes with the pressure and to fit a regulator, personally I think this is a bit overkill, did you have any problems with yours just runing uprated pump or did the fpr go on at the same time ? Also the reckon it's not worth it for cars running under 300bhp, saying that the pump is probably the one that came out the factory.
  4. looks almost the same, it could do with being a little tighter on fasteners 1&2 but it's on and is getting a bit more pliable the more I worked it, I couldn't be bothered with the turbo gasket change so when I eventually get round to it I'll tighten it up
  5. Not the easiest for three and four took about an hour after having to start again from step two
  6. That's what I thought but when you pull it around it doesn't align, looking at pics of other installs the cut out is to allow the bottom to fold round the stud so you can push the fasteners right under the collar of the up pipe. It says it's for all wrx/sti turbos so a Td05 or a vf series is a little bit bigger and maybe aligns slightly differently?
  7. Battle won ! Although it would have taken me half hour less if I'd not managed to Unhook the 3rd eyelet only discovering this once I was on the home straight, never mind it's on and all good [emoji51]
  8. Yep wash clay wash again if needed, cut prep, polish, wax
  9. Let turbo blanket battle commence ! Looks easy enough now I've got the car on ramps just going to wait to cool down before doing anything silly.
  10. Haha well we're meeting at middle of Jan so i'll see what nick has to say, any pics ?
  11. Hello welcome, 1st off the gtr will be approaching 20 + years old so unless it's fresh off the boat you'll have usual issues as rusty areas to battle with. That 2.6L goes through fuel like noting else especially when pushing on, not sure about maintenance as i only know people who have had them never worked on one, how far is your daily commute ? you have the need for 4 doors and decent rear space ? Then scooby all the way, should be less to maintain due to being half the age, I'd say the subaru has the edge over every day drivability too. It will also be safer due to more recent rigorous crash legislation. Trying to give an Un biased view here as they are both cracking cars the 32 is one of my all time favourite motors. I'd say get to some meets see and have a ride in both then make your decision
  12. Hello, yes it's a common problem, however they tend to keep sticking until you either refurbished them or buy a reconditioned pair, many people change the pistons for stainless items so they don't corrode, there's a member here that does them for a reasonable price. Pagid pads are good, are you planning on putting any more power into the car ? If so I'd look at upgrading the pads now so your not wasting money in six months time when you decide to upgrade again
  13. Yeah mate, bit of clutch judder is standard, plus on full lock I get some horrible noises on a morning moving off, not sure if the newage gearboxes are any better than classics but mine doesn't like going backwards either haha
  14. When it's cold they judder and shake, once the fluids are warm they are a bit easier
  15. Whoop, there will be at least one more foz than last year ! I was all on my own [emoji25]
  16. Haha I know never have my phone with me when I'm working on the car, 83 quid mate, it's quite thick and well constructed. It was a toss up between that one and one of the ptp blankets the cdf ones are 120 ! I'll hopefully putting it on tomorrow
  17. Front and rear droplink pic for rick as 'm lazy when it comes to posting pics of work done lol
  18. I just thought you'd gone into hiding after the poor pod run I'm not looking for that much to be honest, maybe 260ish as any more then it's new wheels discs and calipers, been talking to some other foz owners and wiith right pad disc combo I should be ok with the ones I have on for that power. I've a fuel pump to go in when it turns up and I'm just waiting on sfs hoses but they are taking soon long 3months to get me some foz specific y pipes made
  19. That retail parks colder than martins it's on the same hill pretty much. Keep us posted I'll be down all being well.
  20. Whey hey ! Thought you'd deserted us, how's tricks ? As per usual it's way down my list of things to do got a few more important things to be getting on with at the mo
  21. As long s it's an etholyneglycol coolant it should be ok, subaru changed to a low maintenance/longlife one a couple years back, it used to be Green and now it's red I think? as long as you change what ever coolant at the intervals suggested you should have no problems
  22. I ended up getting one of these to protect mine http://www.rally-tech.com/collections/impreza-gc-gm-gf-93-01/products/intercooler-cover-rock-guard-impreza-gc-gm-gf not sure if they do one for the new shape best off measuring your intercooler
