everyone loves a slapper
I've noticed on the way home that the oil pressure taking longer to get to it's normal operating range, my gauge shows between 1.4-1.8 at idle when warm so i take it the new oil is taking longer to get up to temp. Hence the slap bing more noticable. I guess this being my 1st winter with the car i'm just finding out how she copes with the different temp ranges. And having the new exhaust on has made me here and listen to things i haven't heard before so with all of that combined i'm prob going mad ! Heres another clipof above and below for you gambit :-D

High mileage
Either 126thousand or 138thou depending on how the conversion was done. Showing 201400kms but if you divide that by 1.6 comes to the 126 figure or if you take off 63k which is how the seller said it was done you get the 2nd figure. I should really dig out the import docs and work it out

everyone loves a slapper
My !Removed! paranoia has returned after a recent oil change she's started to slap louder than before, i assume i used the same grade oil as before 10-40semi synth so i'm stumped do different brands behave in very differnet ways ? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ZjNC7n2LfQ&feature=youtube_gdata_player The vid makes it sound a lot worse, that was after 10 min idle and a 3 mile drive :-( Prob not far enough for it to get really hot as it's only stop start traffic All i can think is there was a different oil in ?

New to Scoobys and want to know what to look for
Something like this http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201312060368124/sort/atcustom/postcode/ls27qz/radius/1501/make/SUBARU/model/impreza/price-from/7500/price-to/9000/page/1/usedcars?desc=1 Bit on the pricy side but it's a jtc garage. I'm sure theres many more around looks like your gonna have a nice time in the classified ads. (Goes to search out more cars he can't afford)

Centre decat pipe
Maybe stick that one on the bay and start again ? If you'd asked that question the other week i could have given you an answer. The nut is a 22 mm on the outside.as for the length i'd never assume !

Centre decat pipe
Yep deffo need that hole there, maybe he's sold you one for a newage wrx ? Not sure where the sensors are on those. After looking at the wrx diagram on page 1 i'd say youve got the wrong one. They have one before the up pipe and one inbetween the two cats in the centre pipe

Centre decat pipe
Am i confusing myself or are we talking about the same bit, downpipe from the turbo ? Or second section ?
-
Centre decat pipe
The n/a cars have it in a different place underneath the engine where the two meet into 1. All turbos do though :-(
-
Centre decat pipe
Thats bad news, main o2 sensor essential take it you mean the one directly behind the turbo ? Could get one fabricatd

Hello, 8k should get you a very nice wagon, Theres a buying guide somewhere on here can't remember where. As for buying i'd go for, if it's had mods done id be wanting paperwork same with the ' remap' claim If they have been done well should have no problems and may be better for fuel economy. Stantard stuff like reg servicing is a must. Servicing used to be short intervals but newer cars go a bit longer 7k i think. Although most of us change the oil every 4-5k. Look for one thats had a recent belt change or account for that if it's not been done and due, Don't be put off by main dealer prices as there are lost of very good independants which will do a better and cheaper job. I take it your lookong at impreza's ? I'll let someone else answer the ride question on that one. I stand corrected but cas registered afer may/june 06 may fall into the £450 tax bracket :O Anyway welcome and feel free to ask as many questions no matter how trivial or daft they may be.

Haha after the L reading i did wonder what was going on, but after parking on level ground last night it was better. I was seeing the same idle pressure as i did before the change so i wasn't too bothered just glad it's ok. Still only taken just over 4L though

where the hell has my oil gone ?
Rough man maths says thats 4.2 us quarts which is spot according to us specs, i've put in 4 and the level is now sitting on the full mark. Prob about right as i don't bother extracting with a suction pump. Prob around half a litre sat in the block. I'll just keep an eye on it tonight
