  2. Just done a change and brimmed filter then added nearly 4L waited for it to drain and settle only to find the dipstick is bone dry ? Before anyone asks the sump plug is in amd the filter is done up, Will i have to put nearly the whole 4.5L in or should i start he up ? Then check in ten mins
  3. Haha not finished yet, i'm at work so drained & replaced filter just about to fill up. Spoke to martin as sheff subaru and he said do the dry crank. Told me an easier way of pulling the 2 main 30amp fuses in the main box. So i'll gonna go check the levels now i'm on me dinner and crank her :-)
  4. I should hope so ash, leaving out the milk should make things easier it's only a three step process then :-) Or have you neen hiding week tea all your life and blaming it on the milk ? Haha. If we can space the two meets a bit further apart i could get to both most months
  5. Thats what you get from living out in the middle of east bumf**k :-) Still you aee on 1st name terms with all the local animals. I'm supprised there aren't more people from your neck of the woods to be fair ?
  6. don't worry we don't all look like gambits profile pic :-) I may have to come straight from work so if i look like a scruffy **** apologies now
  7. I'd leave it and wait, maybe connect a boost gauge see what your pulling. Chances are you'll want one after the remap anyway, Like sav says if your seeing normal boost there it's pretty good guess the ecu's stock. Sorry bazza, the open source question was to ash as he as a later car. Its mapping software thats not applicable to our cars
  8. Did you get anywhere with those chaps regarding your hose ?
  9. Is yours open source ? It's the cost of the board thats bunping the price up for us :-(
  10. If this link works http://www.enduringsolutions.com/ECUGuide.pdf should see a list of compatable ecu's
  11. Yes he'll provide and fit the esl board and do a 'live map' for that price
  12. Yep thats exactly what i've been quoted from him to do mine, Where abouts are you located ? He said may be cheaper if i went to him. Or may be worth putting feelers out for a couple of people to get together and get a group discount if available ?
  13. She had no choice, had mx5 before so i told her, i needed something with a big boot, more seats and the ability to go anywhere in any weather. Her only stipulation was 'it has to look safe and not too fast' So glad the mises takes no interest in cars :-D
  14. I can only dream ! She had more hair than me when she popped out :-)
  15. Six months in april :O Time flys
  16. Not sure if classed as selfie or photoboming my own rubbish attempt at a pic of my girl haha
  17. Or there should be a caption saying 'shut it you slaaaaaag' !
  18. What year is your car & what engine code ? I'm not much help with the newer foresters, http://www.japanesecarimports.net/parts.asp?cat=96⊂=494&sec=1539&var=51&dc=y If your changing the turbo maybe these, turbo to cat pipe gasket and studs are down a bit like i say no idea if it will fit yours but if you call them they should be able to help with your enquiry using vin number, as for hoses it again depends on which one's gone ? And if your gona drain the coolant do you want to change them all ? (Once you start it's a slippery slope). I'll try and dig out wjere i bought my silicone hoses from
  19. Importcarparts.co.uk are cheap for gaskets, may be worth buying new studs and bolts if yours hasnt been removed for a while could be a pain to remove, last thing you want is to shear a bolt and have to wait. As for hose depends if you want to upgrade to silicione hose or not, plenty of ebay shops will sell you it by the meter, just measure the diameter 1st, you prob need some clips if you go down that route as they are normally thicker than standard. I presume you'll have to drain the system when you change the hose ? Someone with more knowledge will answer that i guess.
  20. Could be age of the coolant lines into the turbo? They do get hot as hell do you have the heatsheild on the turbo ? Or turbo gasket ? Mine appears to leak coolant slightly on start up just blows a little onto the back of the downpipe until the gasket's warm. It's being changed this week to stop it
  21. Haha like the b&w shot very moody !
  22. Being liquid cooled turbos, they are a bit of a waste, depends really on how you see it, my car takes a good 5-10mins to get warm and its a pain sitting around looking like your trying to steal your own car, least with a timer you can pop in on a cycle and go back in for a brew. Back ot. hello and welcome, :-) All i can say is until your used to the car and when it comes on boost plan your overtakes wisely !
  23. Yeah he wanted to know which ecu i had to be able to get the right esl board for it :-) just need to find the cash now. He was the only person who got back to me promptly, and was happy to answer all my daft queations so i'll be using him when the time comes even if he is a little bit dearer just because of the service he's already given me
  24. May be worth getting the code off the front off the ecu when you take a look save having to go back again at a later date, 1st thing simon asked me when i was enquiring about a remap was the version i have.
