While i'm on subject of lighting i thought i'd update this thread for future reference. Finally got round to fitting led's in car. Jdm forester sizes Are 31mm led festoon in front and 501 led replacement in the rear. Didn't bother with map lights i presume they are 501 to Found everything on the bay and amazon :-)

I watched the vid last night. He doesn't give any part numbers just said i got from ebay. I've a mapplins roind corner from work so i'll see what they have in stock. Was gonna replace my ashtray light too and they are the same i think. With the led's do you have to get a holder or do they just pop into place ?

When i put that into autobulbs it didn't come up with anything. Is that the yank bulb designation or just me being daft ? I know it's a small capless lol

Noticed today my o/s lower ball joint's split and grease is weeping. Can i replace just the ball joint and rubber or is it a whole wishbone replacement job ?

Just been on the phone to subaru gonna have to wait till monday see if they can get hold of the part. It's about ten quid ! To be fair they are one of the best dealers i've had to use and nothings ever too much trouble so i don't mind the cost too much. Yeah i think the 01-02 cars had them then they stopped it then re introduced it on 04-05 cars. I presume it's the same bulb as what your car uses ? What year's yours ? They moved to full led lighting at some point. If the garage cant find what i need maybe yours being a uk car will be easier to find on database once we know what we need, will be laughing

May as well, seen on youtube people changing the colour of bulb to match the newer red dial layout. I didnt realy realise i missed it until it was pitch black last night. I still cant find out what bulb it is all the info is on us sites. I want to be able to take everything apart and put back together again with out having to wait or faf around with the wrong bulbs. May just call subaru and see what i need.

Dunno mate, i had a legacy in work that had one too. It's good lights up the key hole and then fades after start up. I've no idea what the bulb is looks like i'nm gonna have to pull the cowl apart to find out

I'll speak to subaru too, no intention of buying from them just interested as someone mentioned they had got one from a dealer for £120

Hey up, well i took tge airbox apart this morning and had a peek inside, the wires seem clean ie no soot. So i've put it all back together and seems to be ok i may have a small leak in the intake ? It looked like the airbox was o n a bit wonky so realigned and will take it for a drive tonight. I have no knob ! (Insert childish joke) it's just a push button on/off ac for me. It still comes on even if i've not pushed auto ? When putting the blowers to windscreen it comes on automatically and puts the fans up to three. Which is also anoying seeing as the controls are hidden by anything sat in the drinks holder

Changed the o2 sensor that was giving me grief but car still hesitates slightly, no where near as much as it did :-) Did a search but maf and cleaner bring up loads of randomness. I want to clean my maf sensor as i'm pretty sure it still works ok, (unplugged it and it stalled straight away) So its a purple labled one do i just unscrew the unit and slide it out ? 2nd question, what to clean with if i cant find air sensor cleaner tomorrow, can i use carb & intake cleaner (wynns) or electrical contact cleaner ?

Gambit, no worries. Bitman, my layouts a bit different to yours but i suspect it may work similar. So if i hit auto depending on how cold or humid it is the ac comes on at start then goes off after a bit. Or vice versa with the heater to ac. Not sure if going over a preset temp triggers it i'll investagate on way home. Eco mode, still no idea but ac kicked in halfway through journey last night. This morning i pressed mode which i presume just lets the air into cabin as the display shows, can control fans and temp independantly at this point. Blowers on floor mode 20.5 deg nice and toasty feet. Stop off to get paper restart and although still showing manual ac kicks in again ? ? Most annoying as 90% of the time i drive with the window open even if it's just cracked a bit. So i either end up trying to heat/cool the outside world and burn more fuel than needed . Was gonna buy an owners manual from the bay. Got one for mazda a couple years back but all in rough translation cant remember site now :-(

Yeah, i've been running it recently to see if there was anything in the system or the seals were dead. I pressed the valve in at the top and a quite large hiss came out so it must still be full just rubbish. Never bothered me before but i'm not sure the baby will like sitting on a 70mph slipstream in the summer. I know someone who'll do it dirt cheap so if the seals go i'm not loosing anything

At least you know the person next to you takes an interest in their car and your not gonna come back to a load of dents where some numpty has attacked your car with their door

Anyone got a set of operation instructions for a my97/98 auto climate control unit ? Found i had an eco setting the other day no idea what it does ? And because mine doesn't blow that cold i can be driving aound for ages with the ac on and not realise. It's doing my head in loked around but can't see any

I'm having trouble with mine when i go to pull release lever sometimes it works and sometimes not, don't think the catch is releasing properly. I take it it's just a cable pull mech ? If so can it be adjusted to take up any slack due to wear ? Failing that i'll re grease the catch
