  1. Hi.  Due to the increasing interest in classic impreza's I was wondering what the rough value of mine would be worth as I'm thinking of selling my sports wagon.  I know this maybe a little hard to exactly pin-point (how long is a piece of string) but I think I have an interesting car.

The impreza is a V reg 1999 standard five door turbo in blue and standard silver alloys and was bought new by a friend of mine(I'm the second owner) who for the first 1000 miles never took the revs above 3000 as specified by manufacture.  The car has been garaged most of its life and has now covered 50400 miles only.  I have a total of 30 service stamps including main dealers and local Subaru specialist mechanic and two cambelt changes.  The body work has a few little tiny door dings and a couple of paint scrapes on bumper although these could be sorted before sale.  The seats are in perfect condition but there are internal scratches etc. on plastic work as I do a little dj work and carry around sound equipment.  The Impreza has only ever been filled with higher octane fuel as recommended and never  been rev'ed above 3000rpm before reaching full temperature.

I hope someone can possible help me before I decide whether to sell as I need a larger estate.

Well first up welcome,

any rust on the arches forming? thats the critical thing when pricing these, also any noises when the engine is cold? Even tho if its low milage and you say its never reved when cold etc etc

Personal opionion here :

Realistically £1500ish

Its a buyers market for these, Its not a saught after car/model, People who are looking for these currently want a modified example, They are a cheap performance car thats what the people want

IF it was me, i would advertise at £2200 and prepare to drop to around £1700ish

THEN

you have the likes of me who would look for a non modified version to butcher and modify to our specs, Tho the majority of us know what they are worth and faults etc, It will be getting pulled apart anyway so that engine would prob just be sold on for a low amount just to get rid

Mine was lowish miles, needing a service and i paid a grand for it with the PPP kit,

I bought my standard impreza in December with 160k miles for £1300. Arches had just been done. Fsh and no noise or smoke what so ever. I was a bit put off by mileage but after seeing the car running I couldn't refuse. No one believes me when I say the mileage.

Value seems to fluctuate month by month. I've seen ruined examples going for silly money then a real clean car selling for a pittance. I think an enthusiast will pay what it's worth whereas a chancer who wants a fast car for 6 months will beat the price down ruin the car and sell it on.

yeah alot of them were company cars circa 98-2002 before the silly tax rules so a few high milers have been looked after

yeah, i had a bmw m3 which had 12 owners! I asked previous owner apparently most had got caught speeding / banned!

My white impreza was one owner from new, tho 2 on the log book as he got banned and had to put it in his wifes name

Thanks for all the help so far and advice - really appreciate it as a newbe from members who have far more knowledge than me.  Just to clarify there is no rust whatsoever on wheel arches or indeed rest of car and the engine is perfect - no noise/smoke from start.

Get some pictures up fella !

12 owners pahh ! My mate was the 18th owner of a mk1 golf cab, I wouldn't have touched it with a bargepole.

also, i wouldnt put Sport Wagon in the title,

Could be misread as a sport!

Not that ive done that and drove 180 mile to view a "Uk2000" which ended up being a sport and a lack of knowledge by the seller
