Tidgy Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 so, after some contemplation and ongoing discussions decided to change engine options. Origional plan was 2.1 closed deck block, but decided to go down the 2.5 route. Being a road car the low down grunt of the 2.5 will make it alot more responsive and at 450bhp 450+ftlb its gonna make an epic road engine :-) 3
Gambit Posted June 7, 2015 Posted June 7, 2015 Shame about the 2.1 but plan b doesn't sound so bad :)
Jay762 Posted June 7, 2015 Posted June 7, 2015 Plan b is a great alternative - you can still get cdb 2.5 options though so bhp can still be had but not as high revs vs a 2.1
Tidgy Posted June 7, 2015 Author Posted June 7, 2015 it's more a case of whats gonna give me the best road car. 2.1 cdb is a couple quid more so in the grand scheme sod all cost difference, is been a choice to go 2.5. Cost would jump up for a cdb 2.5 but for a road car do you really need 500 or is it just pub talk? I had 390 in my hawk and how fast it built speed was amazing, take off 200kg add and extra 50-80bhp and it will go like an absolute rocket.

Tidgy Posted June 22, 2015 Author Posted June 22, 2015 Not much happening as of yet, but have got a few pics of things ready and waiting :D Bad news is engine builder broke his wrist so may delay things a bit more :( but be so worth the wait when its done. 2
quit Posted June 22, 2015 Posted June 22, 2015 Fully forged 2.5 should be good Linking it to a 6 speed ?
Tidgy Posted June 22, 2015 Author Posted June 22, 2015 eventually prob yeah, unless i get a straight cut ppg kit again, hmmmmmmm get you thinking that lol
savage bulldogs Posted June 22, 2015 Posted June 22, 2015 Nice shiny bits tidge[emoji4] Are you going to keep the 2.5 twin scroll set up ? Or single scroll with a 2ltr sump ? Either way it will be a rapid classic bud, nice choice [emoji106] Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
Tidgy Posted June 22, 2015 Author Posted June 22, 2015 type r is single scroll, so no twin scroll to keep :) combined with sc46+ there is little to no reasons for the extra expence of twin scroll, this was my old hawk 2.5 given its got uprated headers and up pipe, which that didnt, should hopefully pull the spool lower even more :D 1
BoozyDave Posted June 22, 2015 Posted June 22, 2015 that graph looks great, 400lb at 3k rpm B) looking at the big shiny parts, the conrods look very manly 1
