Shaqs77
Hi guys need some help. Been a German car fan since I've passed and that's all I drove, Vw's since passing my test in 2000 only a few weeks ago I purchased my first jap car. 2003 blobeye Impreza sti PPP. The car is absolutely stock. Everywhere I've read it says I should have 300 horses. I love the car and pulls like a train. Yesterday took it to street racers in syston for timing belt, auxiliary belts and all fluids. The guy recommended using liquimoly 10-60 which he put it. As a favour he did a power run on the dyno. It came in at 253bhp!!! I'm gutted. The guy (Gordon) said the car is fuelling correctly, he has noticed that the Center section has been replaced and it's a slightly narrower bore, he also said it could be that the actuator might be sticking giving it under boost . i want to keep the car as original as possible but I want it back up to 300bhp. any suggestions? should the car have 300bhp realistically? looking forward to your replies
stants
Ppp only added 40ish hp iirc, took it to from 225 to 260 so 253 from a 13 year old car isn't that bad. unless the turbo's been changed it's probably not going to hit 300 as the stock blower maxes out at 280 if your lucky, Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
Shaqs77
Everything is stock. Every website I've checked claims
Scoobyghost
Do you have links to those websites? Ppp blob eyes as stants said had roughly 260hp from factory. If your centre section is narrower that would explain the drop in ponies but still a reasonable figure from a 2003 car.

stants
Depends some cars make power better than others, any idea why the mid section was changed ? Who many cats are in there at the moment ? Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
Shaqs77
Not sure how many cats are on there and I don't know why mid section was changed
stants
I think there was only one in the ppp upgrade, could a previous owner have changed the mid pipe to incorporate a cat, may have been close to the emissions threshold with just the one, I presume you either have a td05 or a vf series turbo so with regards to getting it back up to the 300 mark look at changing the centre section back out to the correct diameter & maybe a new fuel pump as if it's original may have seen better days, and a map should see you back to those levels, injectors should be fine for what you have Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
savage bulldogs
Have you got any dyno printouts of power , afr ,boost ect ? It could well be something simple like a blocked air filter or boost leak [emoji6] If it's not broke .....upgrade it 😊
Tidgy
As above have you got the graphs? also how sure are you it's ppp'd?
Shaqs77
It has ppp. Got the certificate. No print outs in afraid. It was just a quick power run. He did mention that it was running slightly rich and possibly under boosting. I really want to keep it original as much as possible as I know they aren't many stick examples left. If I upgrade one thing, I'll be itching to change something else!!!!
