hi guys, just been looking at insurance quotes for wrx's and sti's but cant figure something out,an 05 wrx was £722 full comp and then did sti with exact same details and it was exatly the same at £722,surely an sti would cost more to insure?? why are they identical prices

was on compare the market,best quote was 1st central and gave me same price for the wrx and sti

1st central have a very bad reputation as insurers. Have a google of a company before shelling out the big bucks

In insurance terms the car is ancient so it's the damage you would do to another car 

wrx / Sti don't matter to them 

Insurance is a funny game... My new boss drives a C63 AMG, I thot for a laugh to get an insurance quote from confused.com.... I can get insured for £360... 20 quid cheaper than my scoob.

With scoobies the cost is mainly down to history of them being stolen. Weakness being the frameless doors. So STI or WRX doesn't really matter to the insurance companies if they are both standard. I got the insurance down a bit with a tracker

Frameless doors might be weakness but that's why there are ultrasonic sensors inside.
