350bhp 2.5 engine

The scooby clinic turbos are just Blouch dominator but without the sexy black coating and lesser specked then they put their name on it and charge your more ,, true story , same as RCM and a few other tuners too your best of getting one from lateral performance they quite often have a deal on ;) or get an Ihi vf sti turbo second hand I'm sure breakers yards will be full of them it will do exactly what you want for a fraction of price

Are you gonna be running a engine tuner t36 turbo or haven't they fixed the oil starvation issues yet ?

As I thought about getting a turbo through them but had a read up and decided against it, at least until Alan gave me the heads up that they're not still having issues with them .

I've had the engine tuner gtx2871 has an 11blade billet wheel and uprated ceramic ball bearings had it on for a year now really punchy and pulls to redline, when I spoke about turbos I went for that instead of the md321 unsure of name , only because of price , Alan did say the Bloch would do the same job but didn't recommend them as he says the md was a superior turbo for the same or lesser price, but the mamba was about 1k instead of over 1500 it was a no brainer for me at the time as already well over my budget, I'm unsure what the t36 is but I asume it's a mamba ? When I spoke to Alan about them this time last year he assured me it was a quality turbo as I had my reservations about them and I said to him strait I don't wana pay 1k for a pile of !Removed! that going to fail and he assured me it wouldn't. And they are all independently balanced in a factory in Germany after being manufactured. And carry a 2year warranty . I've not heard of the oil problem tbh but I know they changed a water return or feed pipe on they're Gtx range to help prevent the coolant boiling in the pick up, but I was saying to Mike the other day the turbo I have is great and it does exactly what I requested from engine tuner and that was for it to be super responsive and 400bhp can't argue because that's exactly what it does i lt spools instantly the low down is extreme but now I wish I went the next size up for that raw rip your face off at the high rpm , but I spose we can't have it all lol

Alan used to sell the t36 and t38 (think they were turbo dynamics or turbo technics turbos) for about £1k including delivery and fitting kit .

I nearly bought a t38 (400hp) off him but did a bit of research and found that they'd been blowing oil seals within 2k mls .

I questioned him about them and he said that he'd stopped selling them and would let me know if the issues were resolved and they'd started reselling them .

Guess he's started selling other brands instead of waiting for the issues to be resolved.

Keep us posted on the mambas performance and longivity, as I'm bound to blow my aps sr40 up at some point lol

Ahhh yes I remember him saying about he was waiting for a company to resolve an issue with a turbo he used to supply, he now specs the MDX555 turbo using coated turbine housing and 11 blade billet wheel £1794 which is a turbo dynamics turbo , and looks a very good turbo has all the extras .

the mamba turbo I believe is supposed to engine tuner own brand turbo now, like Blouch and clinic , it is apparently built to they're spec and doesn't say mamba on them anywhere , so they have some sort of arrangement with them . although I'm sceptical when tuners say this how much different it really is to the regular ones on the shelf .

I'm unsure what you think clinic do so magical clinic do nothing to them, apart from post them to people clinic spec cheep sell at ridiculous mark up, because you can buy any Blouch you like online considerably Cheeper too ..

Here are some , better spec than clinic too . da0880bc65d2210d9832c2417b151c50.jpg that's a 400 hp turbo with a Mitsubishi core

6f8f25c5d5faf094cc6ad6ca982194ec.jpg

This one is the most well know dominator with a garret core 470hp turbo ,

869d412fe014dbff9d01d88ecf3c0fb2.jpg

And this one is a tdo6 hybrid with a garret core a 440 + hp turbo, they also look a lot better too and this is just a small sample of the Blouch turbos available, I fail to see how they could even be modified to be better because they do everything from factory .. Maybe you would like to shed some light on this as you seem to know so much about the scooby clinic range

VF34%20turbo.jpg

see they look the same so must be the same turbo lol

When you get bored you can have a read of their development, what worked and what didn't on this thread, because not ever incarnation did.

You can even see the billet turbine is a different shape, not just billet on the picture of the two garret turbos side by side. You need to get your facts straight before you start firing off.

Your totally missing my point . I'm actoualy crying with laughter at your ignorance, I never said they were identical I was showing an example of what is available also you can't see the compressor wheel in the pics I posted :/ so how you came to that conclusion I don't know lol . I put your hostility don't to frustration, that you've had your head up clinics !Removed! for so long you've lost all logic and reason ! Clinic only brag about it being their turbo because they're one of if not the only uk distributors of Blouch. they may well spec the turbos but to think they are exclusive to clinic is just naive . it only because they've change the name so you don't know , and brand it as their own, im quite sure all the sc range can be bought from Blouch or another retailer under a different name for less money, because what parts do clinic manufacture? None ? So they come out the factory like that. engine tuner specd my mamba it doesn't say mamba on it anywhere. That doesn't mean they designed the dam thing they could write a thread on scooby net too saying why they chose different things , and why things are different they could even post some figures of development , doesn't mean I can't ring mamba and get a 2871 to exact same spec for Cheeper . . Pow ! pow ! pow ! that me firing off again in case you were wondering

You just said you can buy them off blouch is website, so they must be identical yet you also say they arn't identical, your contradicting yourself. How can you buy something when it isn't there? lmao

The compressor wheel pic is in that SN thread, its a garret turbo with a custom wheel, you can actually see the difference. But you didn't bother to look did you.

I really don't get what your trying to prove other than your stupidity of arguing about something your googling, if you were around when they first came out and been around the development of them you'd know a darn sight more.

So to put an end to the whole argument, Yes you can buy blouch turbo's direct from blouch. Can you buy them in the spec of the SC series, no you can't. It's as simple as that.

You can buy cheaper turbos, but you wont get the same performance.

Next you'll be claiming a syvecs is the same as an alcateh i expect pmsl

Cheers jay I've gotta go out and get some popcorn now ffs lol .

It's good to see people being loyal to their tuners, as unfortunately loyalty is a rare comidity now days .

Most of us are keen to learn something new and budgets ,opinions and styles will always vary .

As long as we remember why we give the forum our time and effort is what we have in common.

We're all slaves to the boxer burble .......

(Disclaimer notice)

I do like scoobies without the burble too ,so you can leave your pitchforks in the back of your outbacks along with the tartan blankets [emoji23]

I went to work this morning and got froze off the job after 2 hrs standing around outside in -3° .

Dunno why that lispy dog pic makes me grin so much but thought it might lighten up the direction the thread was going in .

Someone hurry up and build a 400hp, sub £2k, 2.5 ltr engine just in case mine goes bang on the dyno tomorrow [emoji51] [emoji55]
