nodmeister Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 After reading many debates on forums about Aftermarket dump valves i decided to bite the bullet and i fitted the HKS Super Sequential Blow Off Valve onto my Hawk-eye.......must admit sounds and works great on car, decided against induction kit and fitted cosworth panel filter instead, any other guys have different set up??
Steve Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 Yeah the HKS Dumpvalves are nice, I used to have one on my Old soarer. Is it "Bailey" that make the chattering dumpvalves?
Miker Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 I have a forge one on my hawk eye and it's very loud but does sound and work well. Not done a filter yet but will change soon ;)
Steve Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 I was right.. Bailey dump valves Just for reference http://www.baileymotorsport.co.uk/PDF/2011_catalogue.pdf
Melanie Hayman Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 I've got the same on mine HKS SSQV and panel filter but decided to have a change and have now changed the fin in the DV just to be different - sounds great not too loud unless you are giving it some ! ;)
nodmeister Posted March 13, 2012 Author Posted March 13, 2012 yep noticed the difference in sound when booting it....brings a :) everytime
mikewrxturbo Posted April 14, 2013 Posted April 14, 2013 i have a baileys dv on my 96 wrx its not very loud but does give off a nice chatter i might look into a hks or forge myself by reading this. :)
Gambit Posted April 14, 2013 Posted April 14, 2013 HKS does the best sound IMO I want to get one but I have the baileys one on, so it's down my list :)
Adam Posted April 14, 2013 Posted April 14, 2013 Vent-to-atmosphere dumvalves pay havoc with Subaru's twin-turbo system so standard all the way for me. I do have an STi panel filter though.
LaneyWRX Posted April 14, 2013 Posted April 14, 2013 I have a Baileys dv on mine but with my car being automatic i tend to loose a bit of power when its dumped. I'm not sure why any ideas???
Adam Posted April 14, 2013 Posted April 14, 2013 I have a Baileys dv on mine but with my car being automatic i tend to loose a bit of power when its dumped. I'm not sure why any ideas??? They made an auto version of the WRX??
LaneyWRX Posted April 14, 2013 Posted April 14, 2013 They made an auto version of the WRX?? Yes they did :D i've heard they are rare
Gambit Posted April 14, 2013 Posted April 14, 2013 I changed from panel filter to induction kit Not seen any improvement really but looks good ;)
SimonR73 Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 Hi all i have a HKS and panel filter on my 2000 WRX. THE valve noise changes dramatically depending on wether or not your giving it some spaghetti !!!!! Loud and proud :D
mariocinq Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 I was right.. Bailey Dump valves Just for reference http://www.baileymotorsport.co.uk/PDF/2011_catalogue.pdf I have just fitted a Bailey to my leggy and I believe its a chattering one, will find out when I take it out tomorrow lol.
SUELEE-PC Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 Hks best sound when you stamp on the loud peddle up to 5krpm then back off, whoooosh, std filter but thinking about a blitz sus induction kit.
Gambit Posted June 25, 2013 Posted June 25, 2013 I have to agree I'm toying with swapping over to the HKS seems to have a nice flutter to it.
gazza-wrx Posted June 25, 2013 Posted June 25, 2013 Mine already has a Baileys one fitted (exactly the same as the top middle of the pic originally posted), and tbf it sounds really good, not stupidly loud unless you obviously give it some beans ha ha. Although I might go on Youtube and have a listen to the HKS one everyone seems to be raving about :)
Jay762 Posted June 25, 2013 Posted June 25, 2013 Think Ill be keeping mine as a recirc but changing to the forge item - shiny shiny
Gambit Posted June 25, 2013 Posted June 25, 2013 mines been mapped with it on and I must admit I do like the swooosshh when I change gear :D I'm like a big kid what can I say :)
seanaldo1987 Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 Mine came with the bailey one fitted. Sounds ok and will do me til i have the cash to consider replacing it. I've removed the sound deadening from the underside of the bonnet and that has actually made a difference..... its much louder when dumping at full boost :D i am a big kid i know lol. 2
Scooby Pete Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 I miss the sucking and whooshing of an induction kit and DV :( it,s about £700 new for both bits and a remap, far too much for some extra noise. Whish I'd kept the HKS SSQV from the classic would have only needed the fitting kit then :( 1
