  1. Might bring you a little present for you, stants [emoji6] I've only got to ..... Paint the reversed inlet/ alternator relocation bracket Remove engine , 6speed ,fmic and suspension Fit gruppe headers Fit painted inlet and bracket Fit engine, 6 speed, fmic and suspension into the v1 Make a reversed inlet fmic pipe Mot And finally map it [emoji39]
  2. I think I'd only be able to do the sunday (if it's finished) Now I've got a date to aim for, Guess I'd better get on with it then [emoji16] [emoji4]
  3. Cdb's have more metal around the bores making them stronger (with the right internals) If yours has got the ## marks behind the crank sensor plug then it's definitely a earlier engine . As they were only fitted from 93 to 95
  4. When's the cut off date for ordering tickets gambit ? As I'm hoping to get the new shell up n running by the end of the month[emoji120] It would be great to put faces to names and make it to at least one show this year[emoji4]
  5. I've had a quick look for engine codes and can't seem to find much info to help .seems to be lots of info on vehicle model codes but not much on engine side of things. I know my cdb's original engine type was a "ej20G" as it was on the sti I'd plate it came out of . But my engine has ej20 stamped on it too , so I think that's possibly a generic code across the 2ltr range . Being a uk car have you crossed referenced your numbers with log book engine number ? Did you find clive attowes number in the end ?
  6. Congratulations Glad to hear you're not "in the T.A " (shooting blanks ) Being a dad of 2 the best advice I could give ..... Hurry up and buy some shiny scooby stuff [emoji4] before the mrs finds better "use " for your spare cash [emoji6]
  7. They're normally a pig to undo due to the heat . While you're working in that area... check the cam cover gaskets and half moons for weeping oil . If you're due spark plugs soon it might be worth fitting those whilst you've got 1 side stripped
  8. Had to take the scoob to work today as my van was having some work done [emoji19] costed nearly double in fuel for the 80 mile round trip .... But hey I left 20 mins later and arrived home 20 mins earlier with a grin on my face[emoji1] Spending the extra 40 mins spare time on the project shell was a bonus too [emoji6]
  9. Give the turbo oil drain a clean and use new subaru upipe, turbo inlet/outlet gaskets . If you get the gaskets from importcarparts buy a few exhaust nuts as you'll probably chew a few when taking it apart
  10. I went for elbach springs (about £ 200 new) as they're progressive rate . They're about the same as my standard UK turbo springs in a straight line but stiffen up when cornering . They also drop the uk scooby about 30 mm to the same height as the sti set up .
  11. After market headers will usually be wrapped in heat resistant fibre tape. Standard headers normally have metal heat shields bolted to them . The resonators stants is on about are bulges in the pipe work between back box and downpipe . Which are there to resonate the exhaust note to quiten it down .
  12. Have you owned a awd turbo before ? If not don't worry there's plenty of advice on how to spend your money on here fella
  13. Hi and welcome .... Don't forget the pics [emoji6]
  14. Think the Grills are the same size , fellas they're definitely compatible any ways , cos my v1 has a v3 grill / bonnet with v5 crystal head lights [emoji6]
  15. Has it got aftermarket equal length headers ? As that's the usual reason for lack of "boxer burble"
  16. I think most people know them as " preface" early or "facelift" later style
  17. Import saloons will also have a rear windscreen wiper and the speedo/ rev counter are on the opposite sides to uk versions [emoji6]
  18. Added a few more bit's to the list [emoji6] I will post most things , but prefer collection as it saves me packaging things up and I can only get to a couriers at the weekend . I've got 2 other members interested in the front and rear brakes , but if they fall through I'll send you a pm dontay [emoji106]
  19. Maybe try blanking the dump valve off , as it might be leaking air which might cause that code .
  20. I've got refurbished 4 pots, discs and pads in the for sale section which will bolt straight on [emoji6] And some single pot rear calipers with better vented discs and pads the full set is up for £220 + pp atm but , will be going on ebay soon if josh doesn't take em
  21. Front 4 pot calipers just bolt on but you'll need bigger dia discs . Rear 2 pots have to have conversion brackets ,to move the calipers away from the centre of the hub. Which allows you to fit the bigger dia rear discs , the bigger discs foul on the rear splash guards so you have to remove them . Old discs off Splash guards removed and brackets fitted I bought my 2 pot rear calipers with newage wrx 160 rear discs (off a mate ) and new pads and the conversion brackets from alyn @ as performance ,google and phone alyn as he's website doesn't list everything he sells
  22. To fit 2 pot rear calipers you have to remove the rear splash guards, fit conversion brackets and bigger dia discs . Have a look on my build thread there's a few pic's of the conversion on my 97 classic
  23. auto boxes are witchcraft and my knowledge is very limited im afraid . Only things that spring to mind would be to get oil grade advice (from tim @opie oils) as a change in grade may help . Or speak to a tuner about mapping as I know that certain subaru auto box gear changes can be adjusted via a remap . Can't remember the name of the tuner , but there is one on here that had some feedback regarding quicker auto box gear changes .
  24. There's quite a few places that do a full geometry set up , but you'd have to google to find a place local to you .
