  1. Had the prosport halo gauges and a braided clutch line turn up [emoji41] Just need a working scooby to fit em too [emoji850]
  2. Passenger side wing , front wheel , both doors , outter sill and scuff to rear 1/4 and both drivers side rims n tyres fubared [emoji856][emoji53] So she's currently being assessed at the body shop , hopefully it wont get written off as its not affected the a post or inner sill . Fingers crossed she'll be back
  3. Well thought i might as well update on here that on friday the 13th [emoji850] someone kindly decided to modify the v1sti's bodywork for me ... by changing lanes without checking if the lane next too them was clear [emoji34]
  4. Ok ,so having over 700hp's worth of subarus and having to drive my daughter's 1.3 k.a [emoji850] is not only ironic but it's starting to get on my nerves [emoji849] So hopefully this build will start to pick up momentum now [emoji6] with upgrading the bearings to king race spec, the headgaskets to cossie stopper headgaskets and having the heads pressure checked , skimmed , valves recut and renewing the stem seals . The build budget has grown a bit now but hey "build right , build once [emoji6] ...... but the cam covers were too manky [emoji849] So i Decided to get the cam covers blasted to try and keep things clean but oe [emoji4] Made a start on rebuilding the avcs heads this week and will have them finished by friday evening. With the intention of starting to build the bottom end over the weekend [emoji41] Halfway through pic of me refitting the recut and lapped in valves , new stem seals, springs and collets . Might not update this thread too much over the weekend but I'll be making progress and taking pics , for when i get chance to [emoji6]
  5. Think Tim farmer's company name is subbrus , i just had a quick google and had a few threads pop up but no contact number . I would say id do it for you but I'm based in ipswich and have far too much scooby stuff to do to my own scoobies atm . As far as i know tim will fit your parts or supply them for you . Try a google first and if you don't have any luck I'll chuck a post on my local forum "scooby city" , as a few on there have used him before [emoji106]
  6. I know a few people that use tim farmer in suffolk , norfolk and cambridge . He's a mobile subaru mechanic that comes to you . Might be worth a google . What is it you need doing ?
  7. Waved good bye to it , as its off to the bodyshop [emoji856][emoji53] Fingers crossed it's repairable and wont be written off [emoji848]
  8. Don't know how far from you R.M performance is ,think they're based in Banbury . Could give them a google and speak to mick or tom to see if they can help [emoji6]
  9. No probs , unfortunately i didn't make it too the pub ,... see pic in "what have you done to your subaru today " thread [emoji53][emoji856] But fook me I'm gonna drown my sorrows tonight [emoji6]
  10. David looks like I'll be cracking on with the bug now , cos i can't live without burble n boost for too long lol . So seeing as a few of the core members are asking about gauges , i'll do a little how 2 fitting the prosport halo gauges into a newage . As I've already decided that the v1sti is gonna be back bigger n better than before [emoji4] so the bug sti's old defis will go into the v1sti and new prosports into the bug sti
  11. Yeah me and my daughter's are feeling a bit stiff from the side impact , the v1sti's looking worse than it is . Don't think they'll write it off due to the £7k agreed value . 3 of the rotas are fubar'd passenger side wing , front door , rear door and a slight dent in the outter sill . Managed to get a mate with a recovery truck but it was too low to get on , so pumped the 2 flat tyres up and drove it the 2 miles home . Nothing seems bent as it drove fine . 5 polish lads in a honda estate just decided that they would change lanes in a 30 limit without checking over their shoulder and side swiped me [emoji34] Few pics of the damage , i'll get some better ones in the daylight
  12. Black with white stripe was definitely common earth , ive only got 1 pic on my phone and im going out for a few beers ,so you wont get any usefull info outta me later lol . You could have a trawl through my classic build thread and follow the fubar'd photo bucket link on the bit about coilpack conversions. My pics might show the wire colours [emoji6] Otherwise pm me after 11am tomorrow and i should be sober enough to have a squint at mine [emoji106]
  13. I know my way round a engine and have recently learnt a fair bit about classic electrics chasing my v1's gremlins . But gauges are fairly simple if you get the right subaru fitment "bungs " for oil temp n pressure. I'd say it was about 2hrs work when you've done it before . Shame your so far away from suffolk id have glady done it .... Well once the bugs running again . I just liked the idea of my old skool apexi f.c hand controller logging peak values after a pull , although my mapper has set the eml to flash (for knock , egt , airflow and temp ) warning levels , which is a good visual warning on the dash [emoji41] I'd like a audio / visual warning as soon as posible, rather than looking at peak values after the event . Hopefully avoiding too much damage if something fails [emoji6]
  14. Remote is to set colour , brightness , peak warnings and colours . Apparently the "halo ring " lights up when you hit the peak / minimum limits . Which will be a refreshing change from my "ring " nipping when something goes wrong [emoji4]
  15. Mrs was supposed to be having a operation yesterday , so i spent most of the day sat in a nhs chair at the hospital. After 5 hrs i got really bored watching the mrs sleep and accidentally bought a set of 3x prosport wrc halo gauges , to cheer her up after the op ...... . Only to find out her op was cancelled and we got sent home 10 mins after said purchase [emoji849] They're not hear yet but for £200 they look a decent bit of kit from "little devil gauges" [emoji41] All I've gotta do now is tell the wife and hope im not the one gonna be needing a hospital appointment 🤣[emoji23]
  16. Coming along nicely chap [emoji106] Here's a link to the newage coilpack conversion i used .https://www.jamessimpson.co.uk/classic-impreza-new-age-coil-pack-conversion/ Only change i did was too connect the earths higher up on the inlet manifold, To lessen the chance of them getting corrosion from moisture off the ground
  17. Darren at abw does a few wrc kits i think , might be worth a look on his website [emoji6]
  18. Na standard rods and pistons are good for 450hp (about the limit for scd) , so just had a light hone on the bores and new rings. Had the pistons cleaned though and they've measured up within standard spec tollerances [emoji41]
  19. Postie came yesterday with a massive box from luke at icp [emoji106] then today i got a call from my engineer saying he's finished cleaning and checking the last few bits of the bug sti engine [emoji41] Looks like I'm gonna have plenty to do now [emoji4]
  20. Ive seen bug wrx's go for as little as £1.2 k but also seen them up for £4.5k ish . Things like general condition, service history , mods , proof of mapping ect all change value . Good clean classics seem to be going up in value and they only bugs for a couple of years , so I'd imagine clean bugs will eventually do the same . If your thinking about selling and need a better idea of price? id have a look at what they're up for on ebay , AutoTrader ect . Admittedly i tried that the other day for my bug sti uk and couldn't find another clean 1 to compare it too [emoji849]
  21. I did a newage coilpack conversion a while ago so I'm not 100% sure on the right colour . But i think its the lighter coloured engine loom coilpack plugs that go to the rear cylinder coilpacks on each side /bank . It's definitely same colour at the rear of the engine on both sides though
  22. Postie has been , guess I'd better hurry up and get everything run through pats hot wash 1 evening this week [emoji848] Mind you i could always start rebuilding the heads after dinner done tonight [emoji4] Not the best pic but there's pretty much every subaru gasket and seal needed to rebuild a ej207 , new headstuds ,new nitraded crank ,new rings , king racing bearings and cossie stopper headgaskets [emoji6]
  23. Always had a soft spot for a foz sti , shame ive just bought a bug sti with slight crank rumble as a 2nd project scoob . Doubt id get away with owning 3 project scoobs [emoji849] A ball park price might help drum up some interest [emoji6]
  24. Hi n welcome to s.o.c, nice bug [emoji41] Any more plans for it , or are you just enjoying it
  25. If its misfiring badly, intercooler or intake pipe not sealed , timing out ,wrong firing order or a few other things could cause limited boost . So I'd try to sort the rough running first , fella . I assume its a v2 with phase 1 inlet manifold set up , so it has a top entry turbo and seperate coilpacks per cylinder ? If so Have you plugged the coilpacks in the right way round , double checked the timing marks , all vac and intake pipework ect ? Any ecu codes ? The spark plugs might show you a specific cylinder at fault by being a different colour to the rest or wet with fuel /oil
