  1. Cheers for that ,chap 👍 I've pm'd you back , bud .
  2. Most mappers remove them when tweeking in a 3 port boost solenoid, as 3 ports give better control over the boost . As far as i can work out , the restrictor pill is to limit different vac line pressures or spikes in vac line pressures in different conditions. Ie when in a higher gear or going uphill the manifold will spike in pressure causing exessive presure in the vac lines . Which in turn could cause overboost , leading to extra air being forced into the engine that the fueling isn't set for . This is just a educated guess but it makes sense to me lol , i currently run a avcr boost controller with a 3 port so couldn't back up my theory though 🤔
  3. Been at work today but did do something constructive this evening 😉
  4. Well yet again not may pics but turbo , up pipe, headers ,heatshields fitted this afternoon. So just rcm lightweight flywheel and clutch to fit then it's ready to drop in 😎
  5. Although insurance companies don't tell you this , as it's your vehicle you're within your rights to take it to any insurance approved body shop 😉 Luckily i was advised this by a local retro club i'm a member of and cancelled the collection of my scoob, by the non retro mainstream body shop that was arranged for me 🙄 Thanks for the offer of the side skirt , is it a non painted black plastic one ?
  6. Didn't take many pics today but i did get a fair bit done ,... avcs lines (with new washers and banjo filter bolts) aftermarket intake pipe , oil breather system pipework, water crossover pipe, water and oil breather hard lines and intake manifold all fitted 😊 Pretty much exhaust manifold , turbo , rcm lightweight flywheel and clutch to fit , then it will be ready to fit 😎
  7. Should know not too log in when ive had a couple of sherberts 🙄 proppa essay of a reply from me above lol . I chose The body shop 😉 as they'r a well respected retro friendly repairers and always turn out high quality work. Rick has been a breath of fresh air in this !Removed! storm by, refusing the insurance company to take my car as salvage 😡 until i was happy with the what they said .... and giving me some superb advice to get the outcome i deserved 😊 Went to the body shop today and dropped off a preface ally bonnet , which I'll be paying a little bit extra to get painted while its there 😊
  8. I dunno yet , Paul as my polish ain't too sharp and i couldn't understand him too well at the scene. atm it's going through my fully comp insurance, as i was advised to do that by my insurers . Because my "agreed value" and mod list was a contract with my insurance company and not the blokes insurer that hit me. So that should've made it so there was no chance of it being categorised due to the damage not being structural. The fact that the drivers side of his front bumper hit my passenger's front wheel, proves pretty cut n dry, that i was ahead of him, in the right hand lane when he swerved into me . He blatantly didn't look to the right before changing lanes, as he would've seen my daughters in the passengers seats next to him . I certainly wasn't driving erratically, i had both my kids in the car and if he said i was, he'd have to be deaf as well as blind cos my scoob ain't quite on boost . At least the physio seems to be helping all of us and the scoobs gonna be on the mend soon too
  9. Received the settlement payment from my insurance company today 😊 So she won't be categorised and will be back 😎
  10. Well I'd forgotten how many seals n gaskets were on the rocker covers , 26 in total lol .. . my box of icp seals n gaskets is looking quite empty now [emoji6] But it was replaced by a box from tim at opie oils today consisting of 2 x millers running in oil , 1 millers cfcs , 3 mahle oil filters , set of iridum plugs and some fisks anti freeze [emoji4] Pic of the vapour blasted cam covers, new half moons and gaskers fitted .
  11. What clutch is it ? As the standard blue exedy clutch can handle about as much power as the 5 speed ty54 box can (just over 350hp with mechanical sympathy ) Could be something simple ie ... Clutch still needs to " bedding in" Fitter didn't refit the clutch return spring . Clutch fluid needs refreshing. Clutch slave needs bleeding .
  12. Finally got written confirmation of settlement this morning [emoji4] . Still no funds yet [emoji849] but at least i feel confident enough to tell the bodyshop to start work on my scooby now
  13. Crank splash guard, oil pick up , sump and dipstick tube all fitted with new o rings and group n sump gasket . Pulleys, full timing belt kit and cams dialed in .
  14. Been a bit pre occupied this week but found the right frame of mind and a bit of time today . Got the left hand cams and avcs solenoids in and water pump "hard lines" on ( as these go behind the timing belt backing plate ) , fitted all the new crank /cam seals and some of the block / head sensors . Pretty much ready to fit the pulleys and timing belt kit , so getting close now [emoji4]
  15. Well apparently "all their phone calls are recorded " they've definitely offered a more realistic settlement over the phone and even taken bank details to send payment . But until i get the written confirmation and funds, I'm understandably a bit dubious due to the way this has played for me so far [emoji849]
  16. Looks like im gonna have to stop logging in on s.o.c ...... everyone seems to be at the "I've fitted my engine stage " [emoji848] And I'm still wating on written confirmation from my insurance company to see if the v1 is going to be repaired and eating my dinner in the front room due to the bug lump still being on the kitchen table 🤣[emoji23] Nice work, and best of luck with the initial start up and coolant system bleeding , bud[emoji6]
  17. Hi n welcome to s.o.c, nice clean example [emoji106] By the list of mods , looks like with Stronger gearbox / clutch upgrade and it will be ready to turn the boost up [emoji41]
  18. Theres a how 2 sticky thread in the tech section on here that shows how 2 self read ecu codes and reset the ecu . If it's still on after that check the abs rings on the hubs aren't cracked , sensors are clean and abs sensor wiring plugs are making a good connection
  19. Nice work [emoji41] Best of luck with the mot and remap , fella [emoji106]
  20. Well after a few phone calls today flux and ERS seem to have realised that there has been a massive oversight with my valuation . So ERS (prompted by flux ) have verbally offered a cash settlement which should be enough to get my scoob back to how it was prior to the accident without being categorised (written off) Although i now feel like both flux and ERS are doing the best they can for me (their customer for the past 7 yrs with 20yrs no claims) , i won't be 100% happy until i have their approval in writing . So Fingers crossed she'll be back burbling soon now , thanks for all your comments and I'll keep you all posted on the final outcome 🤞
  21. Although i do feel a bit mislead about what value my insurance is for , it's not flux that have valued my car and I'd urge anyone that has valued their own car to make sure that value is agreed , no mater who you are insured with . I've found dan from flux more than helpfull in the past , after all he just works for a broker . I'm gonna go through my receipts for every mod its got and add up the second hand parts cost . Just hope that ERS (my insurer) comes back with a more realistic value before i get the insurance omnibus involved . After being injured myself , watching my 2 daughter's in pain , my pride n joy wrecked , all through no fault of my own [emoji53] I hope that the total cost of my mods maths don't cost me my marriage too [emoji849]
  22. Spoke to a few people in the know and they think it's been undervalued so it can be sold as salvage . Then they can recoup some money due to the ammount of parts on it , which adds up as they wanted to arrange collection this afternoon and thats the fastest response ive had during the past 2 weeks since the accident . Looks like I'll be phoning the insurance omnibus tomorrow to get to the bottom of why a car with £5k+ of listed parts is only being valued at £2.5k . In the meantime if anyone sees a add for a early jdm classic up for sale for over £4k , help me out and ping me a link pls . As i need to prove it's been undervalued by showing other jdm classic at a realistic value . After all i'm sure that most of you know that i couldn't replace my car with the £2.5k they've offered me . This is a opinion , not fact. So i am in no way being slanderous towards my broker or insurance company. i am in no way suggesting that there is definitely something crooked going on but something doesn't add up. i think someone has overlooked something for my car and it's legal modifications to be valued so low . Few pics of the old girl in her glory for other adds to compare it to.
  23. I daren't say too much , as I'll probably end up being sued for slander the way my lucks been going . But you can't blame me for being miffed at thinking my car was insured for the value that was on my policy when it has £5k + worth of mods listed on it . Gonna have to sift through my last 4yrs worth of policies small print with them once i get home .
  24. 6 speed and brembos are worth £2k at least so i guess they value the rest of the mods and the rest of the car at £500 .... Seems legit to me [emoji848]
