I like the look of yours. I hope mine cones out ok. I'm going for it, ordered a can of plasti dip Matt black, bought some automotive masking tape and some pre paint preparation wipes. When the paint arrives I'm going to bite the bullet!

I don't think there's much difference really with the high end products, the only reason really I use Meguiars is because I like the smell and I get 15% off at Halfrauds because of this club.

As what I've done today. I've washed her using 2 bucket method, clay clothed her down all over, used Meguiares Polish, one coat of Meguiares canuba wax, final cost of Meguiares ultimate wax, finished up with Meguiares plastic trim treatment and tyre black. Did you spray everything on the car or take it off? Showed the wife and she didn't say no, looked on YouTube and it looks pretty straight forward. We're the badges on the back easy to do? Basically I'm after the "how to" guide

Seriously tempted but I think my wife would play her face a bit, she's not into tuning cars, she had a moan about my stone chip guard I had fitted saying it looked chavvy [emoji23]

You have the same one as me, it's very solid and worth the money I think. I don't think it's a bad price at £85, and the dealer even fitted it for me for that.

Well, today is the day that Autoglass were coming to repair my windscreen between 8am and 1pm. And guess what, they phoned me at 7:45 to advise me that the windscreen they had was faulty and the trim they had ordered hadn't arrived and had had to order it from Subaru. Yet despite this they only decided to tell me 15mins before, surely they knew yesterday that they didn't have the parts. Well I'll be invoicing them for my wasted day off!! All this after 4 months of wrangling trying to get them to fit my wife's windscreen. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
I've got a black plastic one (official Subaru) it's about £85 from Subaru, very heavy duty and goes well with the White car. Problem for me with the clear one is even the best ones get grubby around the edges as stuff sticks to the glue at the edges. Metal ones look a bit strange unless you e already got metal bits on your car such as the under tray etc. I can say though that a guard is essential if you do want your precious paint scratched by the dog or anything you try to put in the boot. Also handy for putting you feet on to tie your shoe laces

nightmare - doesn't rain but pours... It may not apply to your policy but check the amount of windscreen claims you can have before any NCD is impacted - know someone who got caught out with that before had x2 in 2 years came to renew and discovered the NCD had been lost. Been paranoid about it myself since. Oh I know, ours is 2 per year but she's broken hers twice in 2 years so we're fine, the broken windscreen today is on my car so it's another policy. -

Hacked off now, after spending 4 months arguing with Autoglass about getting her windscreen replaced after a stone chip cracked it, and after getting the insurers involved and eventually getting it done 2 weeks ago, I was driving to the garage this morning and this big stone bounced down the motorway straight into my windscreen just above the bottom trim. I thought I'd got away with it but within about 5miles I had a 4-5" crack working its way up the screen right infront of the drivers seat. Effin marvellous, means I'll be arguing all over again with Autoglass, well at least we're with the same insurance company so hopefully mine won't take 4 months to fix. -
I use only shell fuel, never used any additives, shouldn't need to unless you use supermarket fuels. I used shell super for a while but I found it made everything a bit twitchy, it became quite hard to drive and I didn't seem to get any extra power so returned back to normal diesel and it has been fine since. Most important thing is to make sure you force a DPF regen every now me then 10-15 mins t 50mph in 3rd will do it. This is the most important thing that you need to make sure doesn't clog. I'm not sure what additives in diesel do to the regen as I think the regen uses diesel to clean the DPF. I personally wouldn't use an additive I'd just use good quality fuel.

Well we're considering shifting to the Telford Dealership unless they pull their finger out and convince us otherwise. What with them not doing services, messing about with my seat and now this Aircon issue. I'm starting to think we've run our course with them. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Update, Subaru UK have contacted the dealer and basically told them to sort it out, the car is going in to have the Aircon tested any defective bits replaced and regassed as required, the system integrity checked and tested and then the system regassed. Subaru UK say (as I have been for ages) that the fault within the system is a warranty claim and as such any ancillaries damaged or lost as a result of that repair are covered under the warranty claim, much in the same was as if you oil pump broke you wouldn't be expected to replace the engine oil yourself. Subaru UK seem to be far more helpful and willing than dealers have been, they're a good place to go to if you're struggling with a dealership. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

That gas is ok? It's the new R1234YF that is causing the problems. I think my dealers are trying to get out of paying for the gas. The car has been in and they accept the compressor is noisy and that there is clearly a fault. By my reckoning if that's the case then when they change it they should put new gas in it as part of the repair. Otherwise it's a bit like replacing a water pump under warranty then charging me for the antifreeze. They want to do a pressure test, and I can't get out of them why. If the compressor or something is leaking out gas, which it clearly is, why should I be paying for another test to confirm something else I haven't complained about. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
