  2. Well I've got a cracking day out planned tomorrow, no idea how I ended up with this but I'll be driving from Stafford to Manchester airport, flight to Inverness do some work, then fly home the same day. Must have really upset the boss [emoji30] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Well the saga continues with regards the problems with the dealership I'm at. Turns out they've confirmed that in last service, it was the wrong service, I was overcharged and they didn't even take the wheels off during the service. The whole service team "no longer work for the company" and I'm not alone and all the stuff is coming out of the woodwork now. My car is being the serviced by a new experienced team and all the other stuff is going to be addressed. Whether I'll keep using them I'm not sure, part of me thinks now they're sorting it out I might be better staying with them than going somewhere else where I have to start again. But they're going to have to do some serious PR with me to stay I think, especially if they're hoping for a purchase one day. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. That's all the same stuff I use, works well Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  16. I don't have photoshop but using lightroom I've cobbled this together for you
  17. I'm hoping they've solved this problem with the 2012+ engines which they claim they have, the dealers I've spoken to have said they've not had this problem on any diesel built since 2012. Fingers crossed Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Well, looks like I'm getting into yet another fight with the dealer I have. Took my wife's XV in a couple of months ago due 36000 service, cost £237 they found no faults. Took mine in last week also for a 36,000 service also found no faults cost £332, when I asked the service manager why she just went, I dunno. So I've contacted the dealer principal to try to find out. Also looks like during the service they never took my wheels off so not sure how or even if you can do that because I forgot to put the locking wheel nut socket out as it was buried at the back of my glove box, I didn't think about it till later but when I went to look for it it was exactly where I left it. Also I pretty sure the checklist for the XV requires front and back wheel rotation to ensure even wear but this wasn't done. My receipt says invoice for 2nd service! When I dropped the car in the service manager kept saying its in for its 2nd year service and I had to keep correcting her saying it was its 3rd or 36,000 mile service. I'm done with the dealers now, im going to get my seat fixed and pull the plug, we've got a dealer in Wolverhampton we can use instead it's got to be better customer service than the one in Newcastle-under-Lyme. I don't require much just a fair deal and decent service and yet it looks like that isn't possible. Anyway I'm done ranting now, off to work [emoji30] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Jeeez, Stants what did you cut that hole with? An angry alligator? [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]At least it's fixed Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. My car wasn't take at all, it sounded like a jet plane taking off, and used to just burst into life. Also used to idle at 1800rpm. But because I started the car on the highway I was traffic and it was just tough. You might end up using an external pre-heater or something. Maybe have another silencer that you slide on the end while warming up [emoji12] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Someone made a compliant but they're supposed to have discussed the matter directly with you. Also they should be able to advise what the noise levels are that cause a nuisance, when this noise occurs and allow you the opportunity to address. If your car is within legal noise limits there's not really a lot they can do unless it breaches the nuisance laws which is hard to do if it's legal. I had a similar issue with my old race car, all I used to do was let it roll off the drive and start it on the road, traffic can't be called a nuisance, not sure if you can do this? It's a pretty weak case Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. I think the older diesels were troublesome but the newer ones seem to be much more reliable. Not sure about a 1.6T for a car that size, looks like it might be underpowered. Will have to wait and see what the reviews say and see if someone on here gets one. Just looked at the specs and its only marginally quicker than my diesel XV. They say it's the same performance as the 2.5litre in other cars but it'll get trounced at the lights by most of the other cars in its class, and at £27k starting price it's not cheap either. With the Mazda 6 starting some 4k cheaper and the diesel over a second quicker to 60 it's not looking like s good buy, unless you really wanted AWD Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. I like the car but without a diesel and with limited ground clearance this car is out for me. It's a good looking car though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Not sure how you're going to do that, but what you need to do is drive it till it gets hot then drive it fir long enough so that it completes the regen cycle. On a 5 mile island you're going to struggle unless you can go round on a loop but you say you have to slow down etc. I'm not sure how sensitive the dpf is to interruptions. I know the forced regen they do in the garage is static so I guess you possibly could do it but I'm not sure what you'd have to do. I'm sure one of the mechanics on here could give you advice. In reality, if you live on a small island you need to switch to a petrol because I'm not sure can get away from the dpf issue. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. You just have to drive them differently to they way you used to. Give it a good blast once I a while and it's fine. I've had loads of diesels all with particulate filters and because we're careful to make sure they get a chance to regen every now and then we've had no problems with them.
