  1. I do a lot of motorway and generally don't thrash it but on a steady run I'll get 56mpg, on a normal run at 70ish I'll still get over 50mpg. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. I take everything the handbook says with a pinch of salt [emoji6] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. The light sensor is up in the box behind the rear view mirror. If you turn on the engine and go outside and put your hand over it the lights will come on. The sensor only work based on brightness, therefore it may not work if foggy or rainy unless it gets dark enough to hit the threshold. Increasing the sensitivity could result in the lights coming on as you pass through shadows under trees etc so be careful with that.
  4. The XV is actually marginally higher than the forester at around 9" which is apparently the same as a landrover freelander
  5. I have a 2013 XV 2.0 SE. Love the car, it's quick for the vehicle type, fuel efficient and handles well. I use mine for work and drive down tracks a lot and it's never let me down. I've even had a wheel well clear of the floor and it's still pulled up hill. I don't have a spare wheel as I figured that the cost of the option verses the cost of a new tyre sort of wasn't worth it. You'd have to try pretty hard to puncture the tyres.
  6. I'm not sure. I know it sounds daft but are you sure it doesn't have them? My wife has a 13 plate Se and that has them. If not I imagine it's just a case of swapping the mirrors and wiring in so don't see why that couldn't be done, I imagine a dealer could do it, not sure about warranty though Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. I know, I am seriously tempted to get one in the future but I'll have to get it past the wife which would be the tricky bit [emoji6] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. I know but those off road sections can be several miles long, especially in the depths of Wales or Scotland. Maybe when I change this car I'll have my midlife crisis. [emoji4] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. I was looking at a steel grey 15' STI the other day thinking, I could afford that! Only problem is I need ground clearance to get to the places I got to and I would hate to grind the underside of that on the floor [emoji30] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. I used to work with a guy whose name was Richard Staines but he used to abbreviate his name to something that I can't type up here because it'll get censored. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. That guy that has been fighting with Facebook because of what he claimed was his real Facebook name, turns out it was a hoax. Also turns out he drives a scoob. Legend! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Finally going back to the dealership tomorrow to sort out the service that wasn't done correctly and finally get my front seat sorted out. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Might do that, haven't been insured with you since I had a modified Opel manta Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Well mine is up end of December so I'll be looking again for m XV because no doubt my current insurers will want silly money again. Would like to get below £300 but doesn't seem to be that easy because of the annual mileage if 20k. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Nah, too busy bricking it to play, drifting is fine if you know it's going to happen [emoji15] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Had a scare yesterday was making my way home from Scotland in heavy rain in the dark. Pulled off motorway onto slip road to go a services got to roundabout to turn left saw nothing was coming so kept going and turned into the turn. In unbeknown to me a Lordy had dumped a **** load of diesel on the road. Next thing I know is I'm in a 4 wheel drift at 35mph onto a roundabout. Dashboard lit up as TC etc kicked in but ended up going right around the roundabout as couldn't make the turn. Pretty hairy moment but managed to get away with it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Travelled up to Perth (Scotland not Oz) in mine yesterday in horrendous weather with floods and minimal visibility. XV was great nice and solid, no aquaplaning although I felt a clench a couple of time when rounding a corner on a motorway at 60 mph and hit a river running across it. Had the stability and TC flash a couple of times but the car stayed put. Hoping for some better weather for my drive to Glasgow tonight Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Probably a fair assessment that [emoji6] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Looks like I got away with it. Tire's not flat, will check alignment but being an offroady type car it should be ok. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Got up by some nob in a corsa, clipped the kerb, put a tiny scuff on the wheel, but more worried that I've punched the tire. Fingers crossed its not flat when I go to go home tonight [emoji30] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Sorry [emoji6] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Some of us don't need to go to work to know we've got a massive package! [emoji15] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. I see what you did there, mines just a bowl of pasta though [emoji30] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Stuck back down in London again, away from car. Just about to tuck into an Italian meal, well if I haven't got my car I'm going to eat something nice [emoji6] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. Sorry, I can't help you with this, I did't have the inbuilt satnav. The only thing I can suggest is a reset, I imagine theres an option in the manual or contact the dealers. sorry that's not a lot of help
