  1. Well the Aircon regas saga rumbles on, spoke to a specialist airconditioning company. They have said that if the Aircon compressor is making a noise, then there is no way I should regas the system if there's no cold air coming from the vents as this means there's a leak in the system, probably from the compressor or condenser.
  2. Sticky tires those, I have to park my car in the floor [emoji6]
  3. I take it they haven't sold many? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Snow was a couple of years ago and the geolanders were fine in it.
  5. Welcome, glad you like your XV. Dash rattles are never fun, good luck with your dealer
  6. You're probably not going to get many responses here as this is the XV forum. So I've moved your post to the forester forum
  7. Its not special gas, all cars built since 2013 will have this gas, it's just much more expensive. I lookedat buying the gas direct from the supplier and even then it works out about £80 cost for the 500g is need. Be aware that your Aircon regas is going to sting from now on. cheapest quote I've had was £175, amazingly that was from a main dealer.
  8. Hi, welcome to the club first of all, hope you're enjoying your XV. Unfortunately I bought the SE versions so didn't have the SatNav, i would suggest if you can't find the answer that your local main dealer will be able to help, although there are people on this site that have the Satnav and they may be able to help.
  9. Taking mine in for some new boots. Got a good price on a full set of Yokohama Geolanders fitted for £436. There are other tyres I could fit but the original ones have done 50k
  10. Hi welcome. Pics are sale aux welcome as we like to see each other's rides
  11. I've taken to suing companies that fail to turn up now where I've waited in and often taken leave. Leave has a value equivalent to a day's pay so I sue them for that through the small claims court if they don't accept and compensate. Everyone has paid me so far. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Not sure how they'd look on my white sill though, look great on your dark paint though Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. They don't do the gas I need for that price, also contacted another supplier who "claimed" they could do this gas for £60 but when I contacted them they quoted £225!!
  14. Look good, may ask how much you paid?
  15. Anyone had their XV Aircon regassed? My wife needs hers doing, our dealers have quoted £175 + VAT to regas it. Apparently hers (and mine) uses the new refrigerant gas R1234YF and it's expensive, it seems VERY expensive, all new or recent cars are switching to it so soon all Aircon services and regas will be this sort of cost. if anyone has had their XV or other car done and cab get it cheaper than this, I'm on the Midlands or if there's a Subaru chap on here that can do it cheaper I'd love to hear from you. Please message me. Thanks DC
  16. id like to get up there more but it's a bit of a trawl from Stafford. Car looks perfectly within its element.
  17. Ok, so wife's car had an MOT and a noise coming from the airconditioning pump, sounds like a noisy bearing, the dealer also said it needs a regas. The dealer says to get the system regassed before they replace the pump as this might solve the problem with the pump. My concern is that we put this has in and then it leaks because of the pump and we have to put more in. the biggest issue though is that the XV uses the R-1234YF refrigerant, Subaru want £175 + VAT to recharge it. If anyone knows of someone in the midlands who can recharge this gas for a better price than that I'd be interested to know.
  18. We paid extra for ours in fairness as we had in inboard escape hatch built in, as the XV is a hatch back , in a rear end shunt you may not be able to open the boot to extract the dog. The cage we had has a removable panel behind the rear seats so you can fold the seats down and open the panel and get the dog out through the rear passenger doors. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Not sure, generally as long as they're big parked in the sun for weeks at a then they should last years, it's the UV that knackers them Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Lewisham! Was in Rochester Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. I'll replace all four of mind anyway to be honest, mainly because I can't be bothered to go there twice 😉
  22. Mine goes off road quite a bit, took it home the their day and it was two tone!! Light brown it the bottom and white (mostly) at the top. Pretty good off road to be fair. I'm guessing you're was put together with the tracking out
  23. I'm spending most of this week dodging idiots in banged up old cars around London who seem hell bent on redesigning the look of my car!!! May least you had a better time of it
  24. We bought a fully enclosed half cage/half fibreglass dog cage, they do one for XV them at fits in the boot, saves the dog chewing the trim. Also it's crash tested. Made by Lintran, I'll send a photo over of it on Thursday when I get home if interested. Theyre about £250-300 but it is a full cage/box with doors. This is our second one, the other was 11yrs old and we still traded it in for £70.
  25. It's a bit like they're hand made! I've been pretty lucky with clutch judder and gear change. Neither are a problem to me. But then I used to drive a 1966 Landrover LWB with no syncro in 1st and 2nd so I tend to double clutch down gears which really smooths it out a lot. 1st - 2nd gear change can be improved if you hold a little bit of revs on between shifts so the revs do t drop too low. This allows the revs to drop down to the gearbox speed rather than up to the gearbox speed where you'll get a little bit of engine brake. Might be worth a try changing driving style? I did motor racing so this is pretty natural to me now but it's a bit of practice needed if you're not used to it. But even blipping the throttle coming down the gears to match engine and gearbox seems to smooth things out, probably saved a little wear on the clutch too if you do it right.
