Brakes squeal at 53K
It worked out about £150 each end , not sure on the exact price as we're having them done at the same time as the service so they've knocked some labour off as they'll have stuff apart anyway. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

XV Aircon Regassing
To be fair mine isn't too bad, wife's is a bit worse. Mine barely judders as well so I might just have been lucky. But I know a lot are a bit notchy between the first two. I think the best way to describe it is a bit agricultural [emoji6]. But in fairness you don't use that gear change much Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

XV Aircon Regassing
No, it's just the the motor industry have been forced by Europe to use a new gas. Instead of it being about £50 to regas the system it now will cost about £200. the only known issues I am aware of on later model XVs are clutch judder when pulling away and a clunky gear change between one and two on the manuals.

bumper protecter?
I got mine from a dealer, it cost about £80 or £100 I can't exactly remember. if you've ordered it best get it now because they'll probably fit it free, though it's not difficult. if you don't have a rear bumper protector definitely get one of those as a priority that will get scratched to hell in no time

Interesting actually, I saw more Lamborghinis, more Porsche and more Rolls Royce than I saw Subaru XV on the way home and only 3 subaru at all. Saw 2 Lambos, 1 Rolls and countless Porsche. Also go my new badges Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

What have you done to your Subaru today ?
Yeah, that's the fella, I'm getting the same ones as yours actually with a white background and black stars. I've always thought the chrome on my XV looked out of place and after seeing what Dug did with his on the XV threads I decided to dechrome miners just black and white, just waiting for all the bits now of which these were the last bit Those do look good to be fair, feeling more relaxed now about the £12 I've just spent had a concern they might be crap.

Drove mine all the way from Stafford to Plymouth, 4hrs drive. Got a 2hr meeting tomorrow morning and then it's the reverse 4hr drive home. So much for saving the planet!

only decent ones I have seen are the jdm ones can't seem to find any in the uk Found a chap in Stoke who does gel stick on ones that go over the old. Only £12 for both front and back made to your specified sizes and colours inc 1st class postage, for that I'll have a punt. Subarubitz is another supplier but he's asking nearly £40 for the two. If these turn out ok then i can totally de-chrome my car including the badges when my spray dip arrives. To be honest I'm still staggered the wife approved it, I think she just thought "child" [emoji23]

I've found Subaru UK to be very helpful. After all the arguments with my dealers about airconditioning I contacted Subaru UK who just phoned the dealers and told them to stop messing about and fix it. Goes in next week now. good to hear you've had a result

Brakes squeal at 53K
Yeah, it's quite a thing that dry pads can cause a very high pitch but quite faint squeal. Mine tend to do it when the brakes get hot, but not all the time. Been told it's just they need greasing but it's not so bad I'm paying to have it done until I get the pads changed. the squeal you get from worn pads is really obvious much like a train pulling into a station. that said at over 50k unless you use engine breaking al the time you're probably due for some pads to be fair, me and the wife are pretty light on pads and she's having hers done next week and on down to about 20% both cars at about 50k

I've ordered the stuff now to dechrome my XV and move to black. Just wondering if anyone can recommend a supplier of overlays or replacement badges as I'm looking for black and white ones to suit rest of car. I'll post up results when I get the nerve to do it [emoji12] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I like the look of yours. I hope mine cones out ok. Plasti dip had some really good how to vids on YouTube Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk When I looked at the grille I noticed a big stone must have hit it and put a big mark on it, I'll be smoothing that and using the plasti dip to cover it, I'll be looking permanently though I think
