  1. Be careful because classic imprezas (up to 2000) and newage (2001-2006) have different sizes for exhaust parts etc
  2. Shouldn't you get the car first? :D
  3. No problem! Cosworth is a highly rated panel filter, I would personally avoid oiled ones as they can potentially knacker the maf... not always but it can happen.
  4. If you change injectors and/or turbo would def need a remap. STI pink injectors would be enough for around 300 mark, not sure what their limit is. If you want to do it in stages to spread out cost you can do the following: Cat back exhaust, fuel pump and panel filter - These mods don't require a remap Then: Do rest of exhaust, turbo, injectors and possibly bigger top mount intercooler or front mount - Then remap. That should see you to 300+ depending on what turbo you go for
  5. I've pretty much taken the standard WRX turbo (TD04) and injectors to their limit... would need to get bigger injectors and a bigger turbo to get into the 300+ club... The WRX 5 speed is it's weak link, only capable of around 350hp before it breaks. If you want closer to 400 you will be better getting an STI as a base as doing a 6 speed conversion on a WRX is very expensive. The hawkeye WRX has a stronger 5 speed box, but it comes with the 2.5 which has a higher failure rate compared with the 2 litre (head gasket or ringland failure)
  6. Last online July 2015... don't think you will get a response I'm afraid!
  7. If you remove any of the cats, you will need to remap as it could overboost without the restriction of the cats. You can do cat back without a map and it will give you plenty of burble, also fitting an uprated panel filter does not need a remap. In terms of exhaust recommendation, it all depends on how loud you want to go and how much you're willing to spend... I have a 2004 WRX, I have done the following: Cosworth panel filter STI intercooler Decat up-pipe and mid pipe, sports cat downpipe and full cat back (still passes emissions) Uprated fuel pump (Walbro 255lph) GFB Respons dump valve Remapped to 210hp and 221lb/ft at the wheels
  8. No problem! The exhaust system is split into different sections: Engine > Exhaust manifold/headers > Up-pipe (has a catalytic converter usually) > Turbo > Downpipe (Main catalytic converter) > mid-pipe/cat pipe (contains catalytic converter) > Centre section (has Resonator) > Back box STI does not have a catalytic converter in the up-pipe (along with anything after 2006) So a cat back system is when you only change the back box and the centre section, you can go non-resonated for the centre section for extra loudness but may drone depending on the back box you go for. This is a good idea if you don't want to go down the remap route
  9. Welcome to the club!! Are you looking at getting an STI or a WRX? I would leave the intake alone, just get an uprated panel filter Exhaust - You can do cat-back and leave all the cats in place so you don't have to remap or go all out and go down the full decat/sports cat route Uprate the fuel pump if you go for a remap If you go for a WRX, you can then look to upgrade turbo and injectors as they run out of puff around 270ish That's generally a good starting point!
  10. I use this one on my Blob and it works perfectly! https://www.amazon.co.uk/Stoga-CAN-BUS-ENGINE-SCANNER-Diagnostic/dp/B005FOIC3I/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1491838991&sr=8-4&keywords=obd2+reader
  11. Cheeky little overtake... got a good example of my blow off valve!
  12. Friendly enough to give you a big hug...
  13. Well, that was fun! After finding nothing online about a boot release... had to take drastic measures! Back seats had to come out along with an anchor bar so I could crawl into the boot! I wasn't able to release the boot from the inside but I did manage to move that catch into the different position. Crawled back out but still couldn't use the latch and the key still wouldn't budge... I jiggled the key out of frustration then it popped open! Double checked the catch was in the correct position (I must have knocked it before) and reluctantly closed the boot, opened right up with the key and with the latch! What a ballache that was...
  14. Ah, that looks like a catch for disabling the latch on the inside of the car... Still unsure how to open it from the inside!
  15. Yeh there is a gap, is there an emergency boot release handle somewhere I can reach?
  16. The other day the latch inside the car to open the boot stopped working (was just loose like the boot was already open) but I could still open it with the key... Now this morning, I opened up the boot with my key, closed it then realised I forgot to put something in so put my key back in and it won't even turn, like something is blocking it. I've tried to take the cover off the lever but I can't seem to work it over the lever and fuel cap release... thankfully my fuel cap still opens (So I filled it up just in case!!) What do?
  17. I see zero things wrong with this...
  18. Fingers crossed nothing serious!
  19. Fitted my dashcam... front and rear cameras!
  20. You can remove the engine undertray and have a look that way...
  21. So after a few weeks of living with the monster 15" sub I decided it was a bit too much... so I decided to use the amp that came with it to power my old one. Simply had to drill a hole in it to allow the speaker wire in and was good to go!! I now have an all in one sub powered by a dedicated amp, ended up having to attach the amp to the back as it became too tall
  22. Another shiny pic... :D
  23. That would make sense why you were hearing all the noises but not losing power!
  24. The turbo inlet hose? Are you referring to the pipe that connects the turbo to the intercooler?
  25. Not sure what that connection is you have pictured... I would certainly check the connection coming out of the turbo to the intercooler, also the connection between the intercooler and throttle body
