  1. The boiling point of water at the top of Mt. Everest is 71 degrees C
  2. Nope! The centre pipe has a resonator so it's not really restrictive, just makes things quieter... when you start removing cats, that's when you get into remap territory
  3. Was braking going over a drain cover and heard a rather large knock, hoping it was just the drain or I've broken something. Car didn't feel any different afterwards so hopefully if something has broken, maybe just one of my front drop links (which are needing replaced anyway)
  4. Bought mine just after my 28th birthday... 30 now
  5. Hair dryer and heat gun and hope for the best? If it goes wrong... then body shop :D
  6. The cat does not have to be visible... my sports cat downpipe is completely heat wrapped, had no issues with my MOT
  7. I suspect the ebay ones will be inferior in EVERY way. Build quality, comfort, reliability etc... You get what you pay for. I think the average price for a good set of coilovers is around the 600 mark
  8. I would say that's about average for these cars with spirited driving... There is a fuel light, mine doesn't come on until my needle is completely on empty, if you look at the previous page on this thread you can see 2 images I've uploaded and where my needle is for the light
  9. Where about in the Scotland are you? There is a blue Foz identical to yours that kicks about Dunfermline...
  10. Welcome to the club!! Not sure what it could be tbh... but buying your own OBDII reader so you can get the error code and find out exactly what's gone wrong is a good idea, they're pretty cheap. This is the one I have, works well! https://www.amazon.co.uk/Stoga-CAN-BUS-ENGINE-SCANNER-Diagnostic/dp/B005FOIC3I/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1486882735&sr=8-5&keywords=obd2+reader
  11. Welcome to the club! Always use high octane fuel as well, Tesco 99 or Shell v-power are the most popular choices. Might be a good idea to fire some Redex into the fuel tank to clean out the fuel lines and injectors, usually helps on older cars! :D
  12. Tidgy... looking at other Subarus? Say it ain't so!! I think it's worth a look, if it's local... just have a really good look through all the receipts and underneath etc. If he doesn't have any receipts or proof, assume it hasn't been done. Also might be worth finding out who did the 2 door conversion then researching them to see if there are any horror stories, that lovely paint job may be hiding some horrors.
  13. He states it's a standard engine so I would assume standard pistons... would need to check in detail how it was rebuilt like you say. I do like the look of it, just the advert really puts me off. If someone keeps banging on about how it's an unabused example, makes me think they've abused it!
  14. True, but not exactly common with the 2 litres... and the fact that it's a bone stock engine, no forged components and it cost over 5k?? Either he's a mug and was ripped off or again... bullsheeeeeeeeeit If the car goes for my buy it now price, I will include a full tank of high performance fuel. Which is good for anything up to 400 miles depending what type of driving you are doing and how heavy your right foot is. 400 miles?!?
  15. Unabused example? With an engine rebuild at 68k I find that VERY hard to believe.....
  16. Very loud and garish.... LOVE IT :D
  17. Made my first trip to the Infinity Wax shop up near Kirkcaldy and bought the best part of £60 worth of goodies! This was spurred on by the fact I had the fun task of removing the sticky pads that hold my front plate on as my number plate fell off during the night, thankfully while standing still on my driveway!!
  18. The unmistakable sound of unequal length headers, and being able to beat the majority of cars off the line :D
  19. I average around 170ish when my needle hits the 50% mark, i always hit boost to hear my dump valve coz I'm a yobo :D
  20. Have a look around the fuel filter and injectors... injector leaking is probably more likely
  21. There is no mention of an upgraded turbo so the limit would be around 290ish... 5 speed is good to around 350. I would want proof of a remap, dyno print out etc.
  22. If it's android, you press and hold volume down and power button at the same time
  23. 2.5's have a much higher failure rate compared to the 2.0. Personally, i would go for a blob...
  24. Good stuff! :D
  25. Yeh the 2.5's have a higher failure rate on the head gaskets and ringlands. Seen some go at around 50k... some don't go at all... just your luck it seems
